The Great Depression was one of the worst times in history. But for Idaho Power it was all part of growing up. During the New Deal new power plants were built on the Snake among them were Bliss and the Malads. Also during this time an earth dam was being built near Grandview Idaho originally called Grandview Dam its name was changed in 1942 to C.J Dam in honor of C.J Strike the fourth president of the Idaho Power Company. With the 1930s over and Idaho Power's grid operational everything seems right but that all changed on a cold morning in 1939 when Adolf Hitler rose to power. Idaho Power and the rest of the world have entered World War II.
