It is NORMAL for children to be hyper. Yes I believe ADD and ADHD is a real condition but it is WAY too over diagnosed. Every single person I knew when I was a teenager was diagnosed as this myself included... There's no way thaaaat many kids and teens have that issue. They're way to quick to diagnose especially concerning that issue which is why people are beginning to think that maybe it was all just a made up condition.

They might overprescibe, but it is your job as a parent to see whether or not the pills work. If you kid is struggling, and they take a pill that makes them focus, it obviously works. If your kid takes a pill and nothing changes, try a different pill .

As a person with full blown adhd it is sad to see them handing out stimulants like candy because if you don't have adhd like me and about 6 percent of the population taking anphetamines can mess with dopamine levels leaving you with a weak form of artificial ADD ofcorse adhd isn't just caused by lack of dopamine its also serotonin and norepinephrine(ect.) Deficiencies meaning insomnia and things like the bain of my very existence adhd paralysis wich I need medication to treat. With them handing out adhd medications like it's a cure all for excited kids there are a lot of shortages on Medicine people with adhd genuinely need to function In everyday life. Also giving kids adhd medicines can increase stimulant and meth addictions due to some people who take it turning 18 and not being on their parents insurance they can no longer afford the medicine and have to turn to other illicit stimulants like meth and sometimes coke to function

@@deesnuts8287 what a dystopian comment😂 feed kid pill so kid become “normal”. Now who set this standard of normal?! Maybe the multi trillion dollar conglomerates who sell the pills?

You say that until your kid is failing in school and its not something parents can control. You can study as much as you want but your child forgets everything you went over. Its no ones fault.

I was diagnosed with ADHD and Depression when i was around 9-10 years old.
Had to take one pill for depression daily, and one pill for ADHD in the morning, and the another one in the evening.
Guess what... They falsely made me take medication and got away with it.
I had to go to 2 psychologists for depression ect.
While i didn't even realize while i was there.
    Thanks alot, Belgium.

I used to take a pill for Tourette's, but it actually made me less exciting, less me. Ever since then, I don't think ADHD, autism, or Tourrettes should be treated w/pills. :/

I literally am unable to do non physical work without a pill. Imagine work as a nail. Everyone has a hammer. ADHD people do not. The pill is a hammer. I might still be able to get the nail in, but 1000x harder without the hammer.

You’re supposed to start behavioural therapy first and then medication after nine months I got my medication literally the second appointment and every appointment after they had to double my dose until they put me on the maximum dose and then when I got a high school they took me off and I seem to be better without it

I had a friend who was chemically parented as a child kindergarten it was Ritalin, when the family went out to dinner he was given another Ritalin so he would "be normal" then he was prescribed clonidine a blood pressure medication because he wasn't sleeping (huh I wonder why🤪) within the year of taking the Ritalin then came Prozac within another year he is 5-6 years old. they didn't have prozac pills small enough for kids so he was prescribed a liquid prozac that his parents would have him drink. he Is having the worst time in life right now and its been hard for him for as long as Ive known him.

leec85 My nephew is taking it and I want him to try amino acids instead. We shouldn't be giving young kids drugs anyway-their brains are not fully developed. My nephew is 13 and thats young enough but 4 and 5 yr olds are way too young.
