It was the console that dragged me away from PC gaming and all diwn to Resident Evil. And then Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and banger after banger. Sony completely changed the video game market 👍 Emudeck on the Steamdeck is a fantastic emulation solution 👌 The PlayStation Classic is actually a great little single board computer, and unlike the NES and Sega minis you can run RetroArch and Auto Bleem directly from a USB drive, no soft modding required. For me, I use my PlayStation 3 for the most part to play PlayStation games.
Yeah it was a cracker - so many die hard classics. The N64 had Goldeneye... the PS1.... everything else! 😀 Ah that's interesting on the PS Classic - maybe I've been to hasty with it... I'll look into it a little more! That sounds like a great approach - I did not know you could run RetroArch on it. Everyday is a school day!! It just sits gathering dust a lot of the time - this will save it from a CeX trade in potentially.... As for the PS3 - you know what, I do the same! I completely forgot to reference that in the vid....🤦♂ PS3 is often my go to... if the PS2 plugged in, that is a great option too, as I can use component output.
Yeah - I totally forgot to mention the whole ps2/ps3 thing! 😂 PS2 is good with component out, PS3 is arguably the best bet as you get hdmi out, which just makes it super easy… and wireless controls!! 😊
@@SpoonyOrbit oh nice - I use Duckstation a fair bit! It’s nice and straightforward to use - I’ll check out your setup for some extra authenticity - I’m always looking for that 90’s experience!

Enjoyed that with my morning cuppa andi buddy 😄 i love the ps1, so many games are still good to play now, especially the racers 😄 ive got the psone. The ps1 mini, i do want to get the original PlayStation aswel as thats what i had back in the day.... even though now mind i just use the ps3 😂
@@steve36207 cheers mate! I’m so tempted to pick up the psone as well (for no good reason, other than the fact it looks nice!). I was tinkering with the ps classic/mini yesterday after the comment about running emu’s on it. Seems pretty good actually! Like you though - I tend to use the ps3 or emulators when playing the games (mainly involving racing games these days for reason 😉😂). But I do love have the original unit to just look at from time to time…. Oh and that startup sound… 👌❤️
Love the OG PlayStation ❤ 4:53 Yeah I had the original controllers But the jaw shock was a game Changer, In my opinion the PlayStation controllers are the best ever made In every generation version released, 6:54 It's great that the partnership fell apart between Sony and Nintendo So that we ended up getting Very different systems throughout the years, It's so obvious that the PlayStation controller is an evolution of the snes one 😂 This was great listening to this, OG playstation is definitely one of the best of all time
@@marcgoesblindgaming2076 yeah - I’ve always loved the ps1 coupled with the DualShocks. The current PS5 controllers are absolutely epic, but still have the DNA from those early ones. When you consider what the alternatives were back then too, these were light years ahead!! The consumer definitely won when that partnership broke down - hard to imagine a world where that hadn’t happened, what a missed opportunity that would have been! Thanks for watching mate… 😊
Yeah, I saw that last week after I had already published. A real game (excuse the pun) changer to be honest - that's quite a commitment to the older tech. scene! Although I guess for some consoles, which are 20+ years old, a 5 year guarantee probably feels like a safer bet than a 1 year warranty on new tech! Keep those receipts people!!

If you buy a PS2 you can run most PS1 games.

I love my og PlayStation. I emulate my PS1 games now using duckstation with windowcast core for retroarch using HSM mega bezel. Look just like a CRT

Just a fyi, not all PS2 games will work with a PS1 dualshock.
Ah yeah - I’d heard that! I’ve not encountered any, so assuming it’s not too many - but thanks for the heads up (and tuning in) 😊
