During my trip I exchanged cash in India only and done all my expenses in cash (USD & MVR). Generally forex cards are the one with less transaction charges. And you can get forex card online from websites like MakeMyTrip or goibibo. Or you can go to any local currency exchange shop or your bank and get it offline too. But I generally preferred cash because of no hidden charges. Whatever the charge I am paying it is totally upfront. And if you have any good RBI approved currency exchange dealer in your city and you get a good exchange price, then doing expense in cash is also not too costly compared to forex. Thank you 😊👍🏼

need to know reason, since Ur first night stay was in Fihalhohi, why did U go to Maafushi & then to Fihalhohi instead of going directly to water villa in Fihalhohi
Because hiring a direct speed boat from Male to Fihalhohi will be very costly. So instead of that I travelled in sharing speed boat till Maafushi and then from there took a private speed boat till Fihalhohi. since Fihalhohi is very near to Maafushi, so the private speed boat will be cheaper from there.. Coming to your query, after March 2022 RTPCR is not required for maldives travel or return India travel (for child as well as adult). But only thing is that for adults we need a full vaccination certificate. And for children, vaccine certificate is also not required. And in Maldives Sim card is not at all necessary. at airport help desk you get a landline from where you can do local calls to your hotel if required (check Male airport video for more details). And in you private island also they provide Wi-Fi in the entire island. And in public island like Maafushi and all, every hotel and restaurant have WiFi. so sim card not at all required. Yes Shivam, they allow... But this policy differs from one resort to another resort. Some resorts allow third party transfers whereas few makes it mandatory to take the transfer from them (which is usually too costly compared to other third party boat operators). And it also depends on the season (in peak seasons sometime they don't allow because they have enough customers and they want to make more money. But in off season sometime when they have less customers, they allow guests even without the boat transfer from them). And in some cases I noticed that it also depends on your capability to negotiate. Because recently in case of one of my subscribers, they got stay in Fihalhohi without their transfer service and they are going via third party speed boat. But before 1 month another subscriber done some usual communication via WhatsApp and they didn't allow him to take the third party board transfer. Then when I mailed and spoke to the resort members on behalf of him, then they agreed to at least take the departure transfer from third party but still they made the arrival transfer mandatory from Male airport to their resort via their own boat only. So that's how things goes in Maldives private resorts when it comes to boat transfer.. Hope you got a better idea from this case studies. Thank you Shivam 😊👍

The cost of 85 USD was for hiring the entire boat. It is a 6 to 8 seater speed boat. So either you are a single person or a couple or a group, you have to pay 85 USD as total cost for one way. (It's similar to hiring a cab in India 😉) So we were three members (two adults and one kid) and for all three we paid the total amount of 85 USD as one way charge from Maafushi to Fihalhohi and the same amount again for return. Hi Akash, If you are carrying forex card then Best option is to do the card transaction instead of cash withdrawal from ATM, which will unnecessarily attracts withdrawal charges. And secondary if you want you can exchange some cash from India itself and carry it for better exchange . And in Maldives both USD and MVR are equally accepted and in both currencies the transaction will cost you almost the same amount everywhere. So you can carry cash or load only one currency that is USD currency in your forex card and proceed. Thank you 😊👍

One night they stay in a water villa, and in the same resort they stay other days in beach viljas or any basic stay options. So you can also do that. No problem in it. Many of my viewers have done two bookings on different flights. In Maldives immigration they will only check that you have a return journey ticket or not. They will not check that by which flight you are going. It's always the choice of passengers to choose flight as per their comfort and pricing discount. So go ahead and book different flights without any worries. You will not face any issue in it. (Just mention your flight details properly in IMUGA form. That's it). So on last day the return travel from Maafushi to Male was easier for me compared to Fihalhohi-Male travel. So i feel you have to see your arrival and departure time also before planning your stay. If you have hired direct private boat from male to your resort, then you can go directly. But if you want a budgeted option, then go via sharing boat or govt. ferry till Maafushi, and then from Maafushi hire a boat till your resort (if it's nearby Maafushi) thus you can save a good amount in speed boat fare.. Hi Himanshu, The rates differ from season to season, week days and weekends, as per booking rush and many other factors. January is a very peak season, and the entire month people from various countries comes to celebrate New year and all, so rates will be little bit higher. You can request for further discount. And if you see lesser price in any online booking website, then just send them the web link also, and just tell them to maintain the same price. In my opinion may, June are best season for Budget travellers. Because these are non-peak season and people think it will be rainy these times. But actually may June are the starting of monsoon and these months are generally dry. And you may get only slight drizzling these times. My stay cost was 300 USD in july which was non-peak season. So now in peak season just check how much is the base stay cost per day. Then check the meal plan. They might have given a full board FB meal plan. Change is to half board HB plan for a more budgeted option. Next check if they have added boat transfer also. Just remove the boat transfer and arrange it on your own from third party operator. Thus you will get a comparatively lower price. Thank you 😊✌️
Hi Divyanshu, For Maldives trip I feel sim is not necessary. Because everywhere you will get Wi-Fi either it's your private Island or your hotel or restaurants in the public Island. Also in the Male airport help desk area you can get a landline for doing some small local calls to your hotel or tour operator etc. And on the public island you can download offline maps on your mobile just to navigate (in case required). Hi Jay, I have not been to Centara Ras Fushi, so frankly speaking, I will not be the correct person to review it when I myself have not experienced it. There are many people who stayed in Ras Fushi and made good videos with proper reviews. So you can check those for better idea. But as per my knowledge, Centara Ras Fushi is a very good premium category of Private resort. And good thing is that, it's very near to Male. Hardly it will take 15 min by speed boat to reach Ras Fushi from Male airport. So that's the best part I feel. And it's a pretty big Island with almost 150 villas of different categories. The lagoon/sea view villas or garden view villas will cost less (around 20k per night for a couple) whereas the water villa, or sunset view water villa, or the water villas with swimming pool will cost a little bit more (rates differ as per season and weekends). So as a summary it's a good property at a prominent location. And if you are planning to book your stay in this place, then don't give a second thought. it's a very good place and if it's budget is in your range, then confidently go for it. If not, then just mail in the official email ID of Ras Fushi and ask for the charges of speed boat transfer from Male with your booking details and arrival and departure details of flight. Also there are some third party boat operators in Male, who provide private Speed boat transfer from male to its nearby islands. So contact them also and see what is the price they are providing. Yes currently the service is there.. But when you are travelling before that just check once again in MTCC official website of Maldives for the actual run.. But in my opinion, with your luggage and all, you will not be able to enjoy much in Gulhi, and that too for just 2 to 3 hours. Instead you can take the 35 USD water activity from iCom which will take you to various reefs for snorkeling as well as in that half day package you will get a Gulhi island tour with complimentary lunch. That will be the best option. 😊👍🏼

I was thinking about this option since Gulhi is on the way and they have a stop there. But I guess you're right, with luggage and all, it may be a bit cumbersome to explore the island. Hi, There are many private island resort providing stay without transfer. But for that you have to mail them and ask for it. Fihalhohi provided me during July. But now one of my subscriber told me that they didn't provide him for November month stay. Then when I talked to the island directly on his behalf, they agreed to provide one way third party transfer. (May be due to peak season of November they have done so). Thus I think the scenario changes from season to season and resort to resort as per their business flow, as per your way of approach and as per their current management and terms & condition. I have also done so much research on quotation. My findings are that only Filhalhohi is the resort which is at lower cost and at a moderate distance from Mafushi. Is it so ?
Oh it's too close.. And it's an EXTREME PEAK SEASON in Maldives. Hope you have booked your hotels flights and speed boats till now or else it's tuff to get good options now for your dates..
That means around 500 USD (Rs. 40,000 in INR) you have to pay just for boat transfer of two people. It's too too high. Just because Maldives is a place where there is no road. So by taking this as an advantage they are just trying to loot us by applying high charges on boat transfer and by making it MANDATORY. Tell them that there are many websites like Agoda and all, which are offering same resort booking without any boat transfer. So if I book via those websites and directly come down to your resort then what you will do? Icom will charge less that half of this price for the boat transfer. So tell them that some third party boat providers are giving you much better rates which is almost less than half of their price. So if they are willing to provide a booking without boat transfer or if they are willing to reduce their boat transfer rates then only you will be able to book stay in their resort or else will not go for the same. Then see what they respond 👍🏼
One more qst Actually I have enquired regarding transport from Mafushi to filhalhohi island to two -three shops like icom, mafushi tour, veela trips etc. Only one has replied that the rest have not. Icom has quoted 120$ for one way two persons. It will be almost equal to the quotation offer by villa from airport to filhalhohi (320$) What ur suggestion
Via iCom, Maafushi to Fihalhohi is 85 USD for hiring a full boat irrespective of no. Of person traveling.. They charged this amount to me in July. Now they can increase a little bit, but I don't think it should be 120 USD. Just check with them and negotiate and mention to them that one of my friend took this service in July at this rate. As per Maldivian immigration rules, you have to show your all stay bookings for the entire visit. So you can book the hotels that offer on arrival payment mode.. and after reaching there , you can decide on it. Thank you 😊👍

There is no security reason. It's just their business tactics to get a huge amount from customers just by providing a speed boat transfer. Don't do communication via whatsapp. Mail them professionally and ask all your details. Or else tell them that online your resort is available without boat transfer cost. So if I book via online and directly come there on my booking date, then what can you do? Or else finally tell them to reduce the boat transfer price because from some third party people whatever rates you are getting that you can show them clearly so that they can also come down to that pricing. Yes, June is an off season when the prices are comparatively less as well as it's the start of monsoon, so you will not get much rain also during this month. Between 2 to 12 years they charge child fare in many places such as speed boats, water activities, hotels and resort stays. And above 12 years child will be treated as an adult and will be charged normal adult fare. So you can also use any prominent hotel booking portal. 2. For hotels I am not sure, but for govt. Ferry you can check it online in their following website mtcc.mv/transport-services/?doing_wp_cron=1679584105.6669039726257324218750 3. In Maldives allmost in all places you can transact using credit/debit or forex card. And USD and MVR cash is also accepted almost everywhere. So now about "how much cash to carry" it depends on your tour plan. If you have booked everything in advance and you need some money only for local food expense, then you can calculate approximately 15 USD per person per day as a rough calculation only for food (in budget mode) and rest for any local puachse keep some additional amount. Hi Nadiya, Children under the age of 2 years will be considered as infants and can travel on parents' or an adult's lap. You MUST carry birth certificate proof for that. Following your video, my wife and I have shortlisted everything to do and created an itinerary; however, when we tried checking for air fares from Hyderabad to Maldives (29th October to 1st November), we were shocked to see that the price shown was Rs. 48K for the to and fro journey (for 2 people). Just to rule out the fact that the fares could be higher from Hyderabad, we also tried Bangalore to Maldives, but the price was almost similar Rs. 44K Could you please help us understand how you got the flights for a couple for 28K as stated in the video.
Hi Salman, Thanks for your comment. Surely I will help you out with this. Because you are searching for travel during one of the most peak seasons when there is Diwali and Dussehra long leaves and holidays for everyone. Generally in these slots you will get a higher price. Also don't plan during December or Jan. That too is a very peak season due to New year vacation. And from Hyderabad the fighters will be mostly connecting i think. So try only from Kochi, Mumbai or Bangalore. And that too if you want a budget fare, you have to try the tickets in the off seasons which are generally from April to August in Maldives. (Our travel was also planned during the first week of July) Thank you 😊👍

As per my knowledge, in iCom they have the last speed boat from male at 10pm. And "Maafushi tours" also have last speed boat around 9:30 to 10 pm only. So if your flight landing tune is at 9, then you have to make things faster if you want to catch the last boat of iCom. Or else just ask your hotel in Maafushi, if they know any other sharing boat service which operates after 10pm. Or else for that night you can stay in Male City and next day morning proceed to Maafushi. Thank you 😊👍🏼

In immigration they may check your bookings of total stay. So in that case you have to book your hotel in advance. So what you can do is, just book hotel from some website which provides you booking without any pay. And they also provide cancellation option with full refund untill one day before your check-in date. So you can atleast book that type of hotels and proceed and later if you want to change your hotel or instantly if you want to book any hotel, then just cancel booked hotel and go ahead with your on the spot booking. Hi Faisal, It's already November and I hope you are planning during mid of November from somewhere around 15th to 25th November I hope. In this short duration booking you will surely face the price hike brother. But just for you I researched now a little bit in Skyscanner site and found Air India flight from Bangalore to Male on 16th November afternoon for 9000 rupees approx. Below that price i don't think you can get any flight in this short span. So if it's ok for you, then just check and go for it. Try to check first in incognito browsing mode without login details. Hi Fathima, From Maafushi to Fihalhohi when you hire a speed boat, it will cost you 85 USD for one way for the entire boat (not per person). And the boat has a capacity to take 6 to 8 people. So if you go alone, or if you go as a couple or as a group of three to four family members, it is going to cost you 85 USD only for one way. Similarly while returning from Fihalhohi to Maafushi again they will charge you another 85 USD for all together. So as a couple you have to totally pay 85+85 = 170 USD as the total amount for to and fro journey. Thank you 👍🏼
In maafushi we stayed in Arora inn. It was a nice small sized budget hotel very near to the jetty. And the rooms were good with complimentary breakfast and the staffs nature and their hospitality was awesome. Thank you 😊👍

For Hotel in Maffushi or other public island you can use any hotel booking website. For private island booking its better to mail them in their website and proceed. I just checked in Pay tm for Feb month flight from Mumbai to Male and almost on every date the flights are costing not more than Rs. 8500 currently. (See the calendar screen shot for reference) photos.app.goo.gl/m2u5gEh8hEem1zkp6 So just go to this app and select any date as per your plan schedule and book it. Also there is a offer going on now. During booking the website/app says that you can apply (INTLFLYSLICE) with Slice card to get a discount of around 850 rupees OFF per seat. And if you can't arrange that card still you can apply (FLIGHTINTL) which will give you around 450 rupees discount. So in this way, per seat cost for you will be 8000 approx. Just check dates in incognito to avoid rate spike. And for maximum, discount in all bookings, just use one seat booking from one account. In Maafushi our stay was in Arora inn, it's a very basic budget category hotel for approximately 50 USD per night. So you can go for it, or else if you want to go for a luxury category then you can select kaani Grand, Arena beach or iCom Marina types of hotels also. The Government Ferrys doesn't run to any private island. Govt. Ferrys are available only between public islands. For any private island travel, either you have to take the boat service from that island, or you have to hire a boat from any third-party tour operator. Thank you 😊👍🏼

So if possible book you flights in advance and if you are planning for a day trip to any private island then no problem, but if you're planning for stay in any private island then rates are going to be a bit higher. Water villa bookings i prefer to be booked directly from that particular private Island rather than booking it online. But from June till mid of July it is the starting phase of monsoon. So you may get slight drizzling rain but not heavy rain. So you can travel till mid of July. No, either you come solo or as a couple, the minimum cost per night they charge is around 300 to 350 USD for two people in off season. So nothing will be much budgeted during these days.. All rates will be on top during this time. Hi Mayank, Sorry. For Male to Delhi the flights are not less than 13k in March. There are some small offers here and there which can give you around 500 rupees discount or so but not less than that. Another option is, if you have one more day in spare then you can plan Male to Bangalore flight which will cost you approximately 9k on Saturday 24th March. And on the same day you have duronto train directly from Bangalore to Delhi, which will reach the next day. This you can save at least 6k to 7k if two people are traveling. Yes Pooja, Embudu was also a good option but in our dates the booking was full. They had beach villas only. No water villa was available on our entire trip dates.🙃

During my trip I exchanged cash in India only and done all my expenses in cash (USD & MVR).
Generally forex cards are the one with less transaction charges. And you can get forex card online from websites like MakeMyTrip or goibibo. Or you can go to any local currency exchange shop or your bank and get it offline too.
But I generally preferred cash because of no hidden charges. Whatever the charge I am paying it is totally upfront. And if you have any good RBI approved currency exchange dealer in your city and you get a good exchange price, then doing expense in cash is also not too costly compared to forex.

need to know reason, since Ur first night stay was in Fihalhohi, why did U go to Maafushi & then to Fihalhohi instead of going directly to water villa in Fihalhohi
Because hiring a direct speed boat from Male to Fihalhohi will be very costly. So instead of that I travelled in sharing speed boat till Maafushi and then from there took a private speed boat till Fihalhohi.
since Fihalhohi is very near to Maafushi, so the private speed boat will be cheaper from there..

Coming to your query, after March 2022 RTPCR is not required for maldives travel or return India travel (for child as well as adult). But only thing is that for adults we need a full vaccination certificate. And for children, vaccine certificate is also not required.
And in Maldives Sim card is not at all necessary. at airport help desk you get a landline from where you can do local calls to your hotel if required (check Male airport video for more details). And in you private island also they provide Wi-Fi in the entire island. And in public island like Maafushi and all, every hotel and restaurant have WiFi. so sim card not at all required.

One query -
want to know, do the private island resort ALLOW transfer via a speed boat operated by a private agency ( and not the resort's boat)
Yes Shivam, they allow...
But this policy differs from one resort to another resort. Some resorts allow third party transfers whereas few makes it mandatory to take the transfer from them (which is usually too costly compared to other third party boat operators).
And it also depends on the season (in peak seasons sometime they don't allow because they have enough customers and they want to make more money. But in off season sometime when they have less customers, they allow guests even without the boat transfer from them).
And in some cases I noticed that it also depends on your capability to negotiate. Because recently in case of one of my subscribers, they got stay in Fihalhohi without their transfer service and they are going via third party speed boat. But before 1 month another subscriber done some usual communication via WhatsApp and they didn't allow him to take the third party board transfer. Then when I mailed and spoke to the resort members on behalf of him, then they agreed to at least take the departure transfer from third party but still they made the arrival transfer mandatory from Male airport to their resort via their own boat only.
So that's how things goes in Maldives private resorts when it comes to boat transfer..

The cost of 85 USD was for hiring the entire boat.
It is a 6 to 8 seater speed boat. So either you are a single person or a couple or a group, you have to pay 85 USD as total cost for one way.
(It's similar to hiring a cab in India 😉)
So we were three members (two adults and one kid) and for all three we paid the total amount of 85 USD as one way charge from Maafushi to Fihalhohi and the same amount again for return.

If you are carrying forex card then Best option is to do the card transaction instead of cash withdrawal from ATM, which will unnecessarily attracts withdrawal charges.
And secondary if you want you can exchange some cash from India itself and carry it for better exchange .
And in Maldives both USD and MVR are equally accepted and in both currencies the transaction will cost you almost the same amount everywhere. So you can carry cash or load only one currency that is USD currency in your forex card and proceed.

Regarding hotel booking, ofcourse you can do two bookings. Many people do that. One night they stay in a water villa, and in the same resort they stay other days in beach viljas or any basic stay options. So you can also do that. No problem in it.
And regarding flight also you can do booking in any flight. At the return you can have the same Flight or a different flight. No problem at all in that.

Many of my viewers have done two bookings on different flights.
In Maldives immigration they will only check that you have a return journey ticket or not. They will not check that by which flight you are going.
It's always the choice of passengers to choose flight as per their comfort and pricing discount.
So go ahead and book different flights without any worries. You will not face any issue in it.
(Just mention your flight details properly in IMUGA form. That's it).

Cant we go to the resort directly from malè, or else first we have to go to mafushi, from there we need to get the speed boat for the resort?
If you have hired direct private boat from male to your resort, then you can go directly. But if you want a budgeted option, then go via sharing boat or govt. ferry till Maafushi, and then from Maafushi hire a boat till your resort (if it's nearby Maafushi) thus you can save a good amount in speed boat fare..

Yes Shivam, they allow.
But this policy differs from one resort to another resort. Some resorts allow third party transfers whereas few makes it mandatory to take the transfer from them (which is usually too costly compared to other third party boat operators).
And it also depends on the season (in peak seasons sometime they don't allow because they have enough customers and they want to make more money. But in off season sometime when they have less customers, they allow guests even without the boat transfer from them).
And in some cases I noticed that it also depends on your capability to negotiate. Because recently in case of one of my subscribers, they got stay in Fihalhohi without their transfer service and they are going via third party speed boat. But before 1 month another subscriber done some usual communication via WhatsApp and they didn't allow him to take the third party board transfer. Then when I mailed and spoke to the resort members on behalf of him, then they agreed to at least take the departure transfer from third party but still they made the arrival transfer mandatory from Male airport to their resort via their own boat only.
So that's how things goes in Maldives private resorts when it comes to boat transfer..
Hope you got a better idea from this case studies.

The rates differ from season to season, week days and weekends, as per booking rush and many other factors.
January is a very peak season, and the entire month people from various countries comes to celebrate New year and all, so rates will be little bit higher. You can request for further discount. And if you see lesser price in any online booking website, then just send them the web link also, and just tell them to maintain the same price. Or just request if you can do the booking form that website.
In this manner you can get some more lower price than what is quoted to you now.

In my opinion may, June are best season for Budget travellers. Because these are non-peak season and people think it will be rainy these times. But actually may June are the starting of monsoon and these months are generally dry. And you may get only slight drizzling these times.
We went in first week of July, and that time also it was totally dry.

Very much useful information, and shown in very constructive way. Thank you. One qst is right now I have taken the quotation of Fihalholi island but presently they have quoted me 550 $ huge increase in quotation compare to your quotation of July 2022. Will they offer any discount etc. ?
My stay cost was 300 USD in july which was non-peak season. So now in peak season just check how much is the base stay cost per day.
Then check the meal plan. They might have given a full board FB meal plan. Change is to half board HB plan for a more budgeted option.
Next check if they have added boat transfer also. Just remove the boat transfer and arrange it on your own from third party operator. Thus you will get a comparatively lower price.

For Maldives trip I feel sim is not necessary. Because everywhere you will get Wi-Fi either it's your private Island or your hotel or restaurants in the public Island.
Also in the Male airport help desk area you can get a landline for doing some small local calls to your hotel or tour operator etc.
And on the public island you can download offline maps on your mobile just to navigate (in case required).

I have not been to Centara Ras Fushi, so frankly speaking, I will not be the correct person to review it when I myself have not experienced it.
There are many people who stayed in Ras Fushi and made good videos with proper reviews. So you can check those for better idea.
But as per my knowledge, Centara Ras Fushi is a very good premium category of Private resort. And good thing is that, it's very near to Male. Hardly it will take 15 min by speed boat to reach Ras Fushi from Male airport. So that's the best part I feel.
And it's a pretty big Island with almost 150 villas of different categories. The lagoon/sea view villas or garden view villas will cost less (around 20k per night for a couple) whereas the water villa, or sunset view water villa, or the water villas with swimming pool will cost a little bit more (rates differ as per season and weekends).
So as a summary it's a good property at a prominent location. And if you are planning to book your stay in this place, then don't give a second thought. it's a very good place and if it's budget is in your range, then confidently go for it.

If not, then just mail in the official email ID of Ras Fushi and ask for the charges of speed boat transfer from Male with your booking details and arrival and departure details of flight.
Also there are some third party boat operators in Male, who provide private Speed boat transfer from male to its nearby islands.
So contact them also and see what is the price they are providing.
Then after comparison, choose the best pricing and proceed.

In India only you will get better exchange rate.

But when you are travelling before that just check once again in MTCC official website of Maldives for the actual run..
But in my opinion, with your luggage and all, you will not be able to enjoy much in Gulhi, and that too for just 2 to 3 hours.
Instead you can take the 35 USD water activity from iCom which will take you to various reefs for snorkeling as well as in that half day package you will get a Gulhi island tour with complimentary lunch. That will be the best option. 😊👍🏼

There are many private island resort providing stay without transfer. But for that you have to mail them and ask for it.
Fihalhohi provided me during July. But now one of my subscriber told me that they didn't provide him for November month stay.
Then when I talked to the island directly on his behalf, they agreed to provide one way third party transfer.
(May be due to peak season of November they have done so).
Thus I think the scenario changes from season to season and resort to resort as per their business flow, as per your way of approach and as per their current management and terms & condition.
So you have to mail and ask them for the exact scenario at that time.

All the resorts are asking for their own return transfer, any option from maafushi to oluhevili.
As resorts are charging 240 pp
That means around 500 USD (Rs. 40,000 in INR) you have to pay just for boat transfer of two people.
It's too too high.
Just because Maldives is a place where there is no road. So by taking this as an advantage they are just trying to loot us by applying high charges on boat transfer and by making it MANDATORY.
Tell them that there are many websites like Agoda and all, which are offering same resort booking without any boat transfer. So if I book via those websites and directly come down to your resort then what you will do?
Icom will charge less that half of this price for the boat transfer. So tell them that some third party boat providers are giving you much better rates which is almost less than half of their price. So if they are willing to provide a booking without boat transfer or if they are willing to reduce their boat transfer rates then only you will be able to book stay in their resort or else will not go for the same.
Then see what they respond 👍🏼

Actually I have enquired regarding transport from Mafushi to filhalhohi island to two -three shops like icom, mafushi tour, veela trips etc. Only one has replied that the rest have not. Icom has quoted 120$ for one way two persons.
It will be almost equal to the quotation offer by villa from airport to filhalhohi (320$)
What ur suggestion
Via iCom, Maafushi to Fihalhohi is 85 USD for hiring a full boat irrespective of no. Of person traveling..
They charged this amount to me in July. Now they can increase a little bit, but I don't think it should be 120 USD. Just check with them and negotiate and mention to them that one of my friend took this service in July at this rate. Then see what they offer you.

There is no security reason. It's just their business tactics to get a huge amount from customers just by providing a speed boat transfer.
Don't do communication via whatsapp. Mail them professionally and ask all your details.
Or else tell them that online your resort is available without boat transfer cost. So if I book via online and directly come there on my booking date, then what can you do?
Or else finally tell them to reduce the boat transfer price because from some third party people whatever rates you are getting that you can show them clearly so that they can also come down to that pricing.
That's how you have to negotiate a little bit during peak seasons. No other way to deal with them.

Between 2 to 12 years they charge child fare in many places such as speed boats, water activities, hotels and resort stays.
And above 12 years child will be treated as an adult and will be charged normal adult fare.

1. In my case I booked my maafushi hotel via booking . Com and Fihalhohi resort by direct mail in their official ID. So you can also use any prominent hotel booking portal.
2. For hotels I am not sure, but for govt. Ferry you can check it online in their following website

3. In Maldives allmost in all places you can transact using credit/debit or forex card. And USD and MVR cash is also accepted almost everywhere. So now about "how much cash to carry" it depends on your tour plan.
If you have booked everything in advance and you need some money only for local food expense, then you can calculate approximately 15 USD per person per day as a rough calculation only for food (in budget mode) and rest for any local puachse keep some additional amount. And also keep some reserved amount for emergency case. That's it.

You MUST carry birth certificate proof for that. And they will be charged a minimum infant fee which is around 1500 rupees for domestic flights and it's approximately around 2350 rupees for international flights..

Following your video, my wife and I have shortlisted everything to do and created an itinerary; however, when we tried checking for air fares from Hyderabad to Maldives (29th October to 1st November), we were shocked to see that the price shown was Rs. 48K for the to and fro journey (for 2 people).
Just to rule out the fact that the fares could be higher from Hyderabad, we also tried Bangalore to Maldives, but the price was almost similar Rs. 44K

Because you are searching for travel during one of the most peak seasons when there is Diwali and Dussehra long leaves and holidays for everyone. Generally in these slots you will get a higher price.
Also don't plan during December or Jan. That too is a very peak season due to New year vacation.
And from Hyderabad the fighters will be mostly connecting i think. So try only from Kochi, Mumbai or Bangalore. And that too if you want a budget fare, you have to try the tickets in the off seasons which are generally from April to August in Maldives.
(Our travel was also planned during the first week of July)

As per my knowledge, in iCom they have the last speed boat from male at 10pm. And "Maafushi tours" also have last speed boat around 9:30 to 10 pm only.
So if your flight landing tune is at 9, then you have to make things faster if you want to catch the last boat of iCom.
Or else just ask your hotel in Maafushi, if they know any other sharing boat service which operates after 10pm.
Or else for that night you can stay in Male City and next day morning proceed to Maafushi.

In immigration they may check your bookings of total stay. So in that case you have to book your hotel in advance.
So what you can do is, just book hotel from some website which provides you booking without any pay. And they also provide cancellation option with full refund untill one day before your check-in date. So you can atleast book that type of hotels and proceed and later if you want to change your hotel or instantly if you want to book any hotel, then just cancel booked hotel and go ahead with your on the spot booking.

It's already November and I hope you are planning during mid of November from somewhere around 15th to 25th November I hope.
In this short duration booking you will surely face the price hike brother.
But just for you I researched now a little bit in Skyscanner site and found Air India flight from Bangalore to Male on 16th November afternoon for 9000 rupees approx. Below that price i don't think you can get any flight in this short span. So if it's ok for you, then just check and go for it. Try to check first in incognito browsing mode without login details. Or else it may hike again.

Without login you can first check the flight rates atleast in incognito browsing mode and compare different price on different dates. Then when you are finalized with the date and flight details, you can login and book the flight..🙂👍🏼

Hi, I just checked for the ferries from maafushi to fihalhohi the price you have included is per person which is 85$ two way per person is $170 and if it’s a couple it’s 340$ so the cost increases by 13k more and we cannot do it in 98k correct me if I’m wrong

From Maafushi to Fihalhohi when you hire a speed boat, it will cost you 85 USD for one way for the entire boat (not per person). And the boat has a capacity to take 6 to 8 people. So if you go alone, or if you go as a couple or as a group of three to four family members, it is going to cost you 85 USD only for one way.
Similarly while returning from Fihalhohi to Maafushi again they will charge you another 85 USD for all together.
So as a couple you have to totally pay 85+85 = 170 USD as the total amount for to and fro journey.

How is the guest house in Maafushi? Feedback
In maafushi we stayed in Arora inn. It was a nice small sized budget hotel very near to the jetty. And the rooms were good with complimentary breakfast and the staffs nature and their hospitality was awesome.

For Hotel in Maffushi or other public island you can use any hotel booking website. For private island booking its better to mail them in their website and proceed. And for boat transfer you can use govt ferry or sharing/private speed boat service from iCom or some other operators.

Surely I will try help you in this booking.
I just checked in Pay tm for Feb month flight from Mumbai to Male and almost on every date the flights are costing not more than Rs. 8500 currently. (See the calendar screen shot for reference)

So just go to this app and select any date as per your plan schedule and book it.
Also there is a offer going on now. During booking the website/app says that you can apply (INTLFLYSLICE) with Slice card to get a discount of around 850 rupees OFF per seat. And if you can't arrange that card still you can apply (FLIGHTINTL) which will give you around 450 rupees discount. So in this way, per seat cost for you will be 8000 approx.
Just check dates in incognito to avoid rate spike. And for maximum, discount in all bookings, just use one seat booking from one account. In this way in every account when you book one one seat, then for every booking you will get 850 rupees discount.

Where did u stay at mafushi.. please suggest some good hotels to stay at mafushi along with prices..thnx in advance.
In Maafushi our stay was in Arora inn, it's a very basic budget category hotel for approximately 50 USD per night.
So you can go for it, or else if you want to go for a luxury category then you can select kaani Grand, Arena beach or iCom Marina types of hotels also.
(You can do all these bookings online via booking. com or any other reputed hotel booking websites)

One more query.. if govt ferry/ speed boat available from mafushi itself to private island like sunsiyam or any other pvt island ( in order to avoid transfort fares from resort) or we need to go to male airport for the same?
The Government Ferrys doesn't run to any private island.
Govt. Ferrys are available only between public islands.
For any private island travel, either you have to take the boat service from that island, or you have to hire a boat from any third-party tour operator.

October is the peak season in Maldives so the stay and other prices will be a bit higher. So if possible book you flights in advance and if you are planning for a day trip to any private island then no problem, but if you're planning for stay in any private island then rates are going to be a bit higher. So its better if you can negotiate before two to three months itself for the stay and lock the deal for your trip.

For booking watervilla directly, you have to check the contact section of that particular private island's official website, and then you can mail them directly and ask for the pricing as per your particular days of stay.

I also travelled to Maldives during first week of July.
It's an off season and prices are comparatively low.
But many people thinks that it will rain in july.
But from June till mid of July it is the starting phase of monsoon. So you may get slight drizzling rain but not heavy rain. So you can travel till mid of July.
But after mid of July till August end you can avoid, because it's peak monsoon time when you can face heavy rain.

No, for government ferry pre booking not required. You can get the tickets directly over the counter there before departure of the ferry.

Yes for speed boats advance booking options are available online, as well as on the boat also you can directly pay cash payment and go ahead.

Can I get water villa night stay in 15K for solo traveller ?
No, either you come solo or as a couple, the minimum cost per night they charge is around 300 to 350 USD for two people in off season.
And for additional third person if required they can provide additional bed and charge extra, but for a single person they will not cut down the rate to half of its actual cost.

Public Island Maafushi is recommended.
And for water villa stay you can mail and check the price with Fihalhohi or Sun Shiyam or Byadhoo..
But please note, you are going during EXTREME PEAK SEASON. So nothing will be much budgeted during these days.. All rates will be on top during this time. Also book things in advance too, so that you don't run out of availability at last minute because hardly now 20 days left for your trip..

You can be on Maafushi only for the remaining days also, and best is you can go for a day tour to any private island such as Centra Ras fusi or Fihalhohi, which will cost you 100 USD approx. per person.

Sorry. For Male to Delhi the flights are not less than 13k in March. There are some small offers here and there which can give you around 500 rupees discount or so but not less than that.
Another option is, if you have one more day in spare then you can plan Male to Bangalore flight which will cost you approximately 9k on Saturday 24th March. And on the same day you have duronto train directly from Bangalore to Delhi, which will reach the next day. This you can save at least 6k to 7k if two people are traveling.
So if this plan works for you then you can go ahead.

Embudu was also a good option but in our dates the booking was full. They had beach villas only. No water villa was available on our entire trip dates.🙃
