That was different! You're correct in that most people in the world have no idea about what's in Azerbaijan. Many don't even know the name. The desert areas reminded me of certain desert areas in Arizona, where there are extinct volcanoes, odd rock formations, and petroglyphs. But there are no mud volcanoes. That was cool, although it was worrisome to see you stepping on spongy soil. Looks similar to quicksand. Those oil pumpjacks did remind me of western Texas, which are full of them. Lastly, I had to laugh, because the GPS voice sounded exactly like my GPS voice. I definitely want to see more of Azerbaijan.

Wow!! What a magnificent place! I was unaware of the existence of these mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan. They are particular and I think also a little dangerous especially because the ground being muddy isn't it like walking on quicksand? However, the place is beautiful, even as an archaeological site, as are all those countries near the Caucasus. Thanks for this awesome video, as usual.

You know you are the only TH-camr that can properly say what Azerbaijan and West Texas really look like. I don’t know anyone that has traveled and seen as much as the world has you have Slava. I wonder if you can find a Lada in West Texas but we know thanks to you we can find a Ural motorcycle there. Lada like a Russian tank you got to stop and fix it every hour.

I want to see more footage of Qobustan, its carvings, and larger landscape! Cool shots included, though. Intriguing. BTW, here in the US, there are some geothermal mud spots/mud pots like that in Yellowstone in Wyoming- I recall being fascinated by them during some hikes in the woods there many years ago.

It was enjoyable, different, and informative. I enjoy going places with you Slava. It's always fun and exciting and different. Yeah, the Lada had issues, but you made it safely through the ups and downs, and he made you breakfast, gave you a bun. I think you could have been more grateful and not become so upset when you were inconvenienced. He gave to you, you could have been more patient and understanding, yes? Life is about growing, and I am challenging you to grow. What if the brakes would have busted when you were on one of those steep descents? Now that would have been something to get upset about. You anger could have tempted him to take more chances that would have been very unsafe, more unsafe. Yes?

I visited the mud volcanoes and Qobustan rock carvings in 2011. To my big surprise the mud volcanoes are cold. Apparently they are "driven" by gaseous outbursts. I also went there in a Lada from 1970. The taxi driver bragged about his car and said that modern cars are worse and only last 5-6 years until they break. His Lada was 41 years old and still worked fine.

Lada is good by the brakefluid might be old and bad... In hot weather the water in brake fluid will easily boil and cause lock-up (and the following disappearing of brakes too because of vapor bubble in the lines).
