@@billmadison2032 I understand, it's just funny every time Fred has interviewed him in the pit this entire week he is removing or replacing that same valve cover.s
Minus 40 and 8 inches of snow pulling a trailer 3000 miles to get to Florida for Sick Week then driving it home. Oh yeah running 8s with a standard transmission
I know and it's extra funny because I would never in a million years be able to guess that the owner does this stuff if I just saw him without the car. I'd guess he drove a Saab. Seems like a super cool guy.
Stefan won Sick Week 1 in 2022 with this C4 Last year, Sick Week 2, 2023, Michael won with his S-10 Both from Sweden. Another Swede won a class with his LS powered Volvo Wagon. There are other top performing Swedes including the Opel Ascona in this event; broke day 3 All of them have top performing, competitive vehicles :-) All the Best
I was never a fan of Lutz before. But last year we saw him at the world cup finals and I realized that he is a real racer, not just an actor like others on that show. He has my respect out there! now!
I only got into the drag and drive stuff the past year and had only heard of Jeff Lutz but had never seen him in an event. After watching all these sick week videos, I gotta say he seems like a determined, competitive, no BS, racer to the core. Can't get enough of sick week videos!
As Jeff Lutz stated also in the earlier day(s), he started within Drag & Drive events prior to NPK He still has the lowest week average record. Larry Larson was among the early champions along with Jeff Lutz All the Best
@@justincharles6585Last drag week it was a Harrell Engine, a 540 cubic inch big block Chevrolet, and a Proformance close-ratio Turbo 400 transmission with a Greg Slack converter
It is so refreshing to see how much fun and joy and positive Mindset Alex Taylor and Brett LaSala do have at SickWeek. And then there is Jeff Lutz............
He's always salty. I get that it's not going how he wants but at some point you need to realize that everything won't always go your way and in the grand scheme of things he's living every drag racers dream life.
@@dwvwnot sure who your talking about but if it's about Jeff, I had same feelings about him prior to watching this. You have to admit, for as old as he is and the work he's putting in every day is respectful. He might be a truly humble guy after watching his reactions finding part in his parachute. To be honest, I'd be ashamed watching myself later on video if things weren't going as planned for me, so I think he carried himself good for the situation! Still not a huge fan of him but he gained respect from me this Sick Week.
When you mentioned that Bucees at the end of the vid, if I’m thinking right Daytona I’ntl is to your left! You should be able to see the track lights if there on, every year for SCCA or the 24 and 500 we stop there in the RV and get our grocery’s and some beef jerky and go to the track! Super video man can wait for the last day!
@29:49....years ago I had a similar water pump issue on a 468....first run off the trailer, water.......looked and the bolts on the passenger side were backed out 3/8 of an inch???????? Of course my car was only running in the 10s...not like this one.
Awesome Coverage! One of my best friends, Sonny, is the head manager at FleetPride there in Valdosta GA!! They were the ones that built the drive shaft for Alex Taylor.
That white and blue Durango also had a MASSIVELY close call with a tractor trailer and an m5 yesterday, buddy was driving like a goober with another Durango
NO 2 from Canada thanks for looking after Jimmy Dale He is back in hospitable were he needs to be ok that's the most AMERICAN thing said all week THE RENTAL CAR GOES 150 MLS PER HR lol priceless
Wow what an amazing sight to see snot rocket 1.0 an 2.0 making a pass together And a massive massive shout out to whoever give Matt owner and driver of the turtle a new engine but the highlight for me was the convertible beetle from the Uk he always puts a show on at Santa pod
I love these types of events. Seeing guys completely rebuilding engines in the parking lot just to make it to the next stop is mental. Lutz breaking a timing belt and just says fuck it, rebuild it and make it to Orlando. Engine cost more than my cars combined
To be standing there when Jeff found his pully in the chute....priceless.
Love how Jeff casually throws the pulley out of the chute with a "there's why" and zero tone change 🤣🤣🤣
He probably took that engine thousand time apart coz he is working on that motor seems to me with he's eyes closed
Boss move right there. 😂❤😊
This moment will never be forgotten. 😂
It's easy to be nonchalant when you're making 5,000 horsepower. It's probably not the first time he's seen one of those in his chutes
... this is the way ...
The guys with the wagon and all the toggle switches cracked me up. What a great attitude and ingenuity keeping it running!
Tye's Coyote Ranger's still lay'n down some quick laps,, too COOL!
Legend has it Jeff Lutz is still wrenching on that same valve cover.
Notice how he can do it while looking at Fred.
tearing the engine apart starts and ends at the top. Lashing valves is a constant grind with that type of valvetrain.

Made from granite, unlike those US fairycake decorations that are all battered to death, living on a prayer🤣🤣
He does a lot of events with that car even in Canada believe he put 15k to 20k miles on it last year
@@sneezinhatch the Canadian event is called Miles of Mayhem, he also does Race Week quite a bit.
That Canadian has a name, it's Canadian Chuck Norris
Got to love this event Alex with the last minute pass and the Snot Rockets incredible journey and everyone else thrashing and bashing to get it done!🍻
Thanks for giving VW beetle his due. 2600cc turbo air-cooled 500rwhp so impressive
Love the format of the interview followed by seeing their pass. So seamless.
This is the editor, thanks 🙏🏼
I agree. They are so good at it. It looks like you're watching a TV show from Discovery or something. Great video crew 👍
Shoutout to Fred for always doing such a killer job on the drag and drive coverage.
1320 without doubt the winners,Fred's coms, the production is great, thanks from UK

Not this year - he's out :( was looking forward to seeing that 5s pass too
I don't know anyone that doesn't want to see 5 sec run at drag and drive!
Nope he broke and is done
He doesn't seem to be a very friendly guy. Hard to root for him.
