    This is beautiful! I see you went in August. I am planning on going June 13 (so in a couple days). Do you know if there will be any wildflowers blooming yet?

    • @JenniferLupine
      @JenniferLupine  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Nicole- I'm happy you're going to visit Mount Rainier!! I haven't been there yet this spring. I would check on the Mount Rainier National Park web site- they have an updated list of what wildflowers are blooming at any certain time- and in which section of the park, it's different each year based on the snow and weather. Right now in most of the mountains there is still snow at about 5,000' elevation and higher. Paradise Visitor Center is at about 5,400' so there still might be quite a bit of snow there. You're likely to see wildflowers along the road at the lower elevations and the drive up to Paradise. You can also stop at Longmire and maybe see some wildflowers there! Have a great time!! - Jennifer

    Just moved to Washington, and I am wondering to get to this trail do i just go to the Mount Rainier National Park? Or do I go to the Paradise Visitor Center to start the trail to Nisqually Vista Trail?

    • @JenniferLupine
      @JenniferLupine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kelvin! Nice to meet you, welcome to Washington! Yes, to get to this trail I went in the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, which is on the west side…. then you drive the park road up to the Paradise Visitor Center. Depending on where you live, that seems the fastest way to get to Paradise. The trail starts right near the visitor center. There are lots of nice trails there, I hope you enjoy it!
      You probably know it’s all snowy now, at 5,400’ elevation, and doesn’t really melt until late June or early July depending on the year.
      Thanks for visiting and for the great question! 😄

    Do you know if there is an entrance to the trail that doesn't have stairs?

    • @JenniferLupine
      @JenniferLupine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Evita - thanks for the question! There are quite a few trails on the mountainside behind the main visitor center at the Paradise Lodge. Many of them are paved - so I think they should be accessible by a ramp. I’ll got take a look online, and I can also refer you to the Mount Rainier National Park web page www.nps.gov/mora/index.htm
      I’ll look around on the site and get back to you in a few minutes with more info- thanks!

    • @JenniferLupine
      @JenniferLupine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the web site for Mount Rainier National Park, NPS.gov, I did a search for ADA - and it listed some helpful information.
      Under wheelchair accessibility, it says you can reach the lower meadows via a gravel ramp or a steep paved ramp leading from the main trailhead at the Upper Parking lot.
      If you have questions not answered on the page you can call a Park Ranger at 369-569-6575 - 9:00a to 4:00p.
      Also, they do have park rangers on duty during the day at the Jackson Visitor Center. Last summer there was still snow on the trails in mid-July. August is probably the best time, on week day if you can, not the weekend when it’s very busy and the parking fills up pretty fast.
      Thanks - please let me know if you have any other questions- I hope you can go and have a great time! - Jennifer

      @@JenniferLupine Thank you for your video and the information you have provided. It's very helpful for me as I am a wheelchair user and plan on visiting this weekend for the first time. I'm excited and hope to find some trails that are doable for me. :)

      @@evitarush8726 I’m really happy for you to visit there- I hope you have good weather. The visitor center is new and should be very easily accessible - some of the trails are older and not very accessible. The hillside is pretty steep and may still have lots of snow. If it’s clear you might be able to easily visit Myrtle Falls too- there’s a paved path- but it might still be snow covered. Have a great time! If there’s anything else I can help with please let me know!!

      Hi Evita - I have one more resource for you
      www.wta.org/go-outside/seasonal-hikes/summer-destinations/ada-accessible-hikes
      This is the Washington Trails Association list of ADA hikes, and low-barrier hikes - if you live in Washington this might help with ideas for other hikes- would it help if I do some videos focused on some of these hikes? I would be happy to.
