Huge talent difference between these two teams. Penn st only had one player in this game who had long nfl career. Michigan had Jake long Lamar woodley David Harris Leon hall Allen branch chad henne Steve breaston all had long nfl careers. Just shows u the effect happy valley has that this game was as close on the scoreboard as it was.

@mstevens24 To be fair, MIchigan had a few near-miscues in this game, so I guess all we can say is it was what it was, a defensive slobberknocker. It was actually pretty similar to the Penn State-Iowa game played two years later where Penn State dominated everywhere but the scoreboard for three quarters, holding the ball for 29:15 after three. Unlike that game, Michigan didn't have a colossal fourth quarter meltdown and showed why they were one of the best teams in the country.
I miss our play caller on offense
yea our secondary sort of got exploited against osu and usc, but our front 7 was straight nasty!!
Oh, how good the Michigan defense looked in this game.. injuring two QB's, at least 8 sacks lmao, hits were hard, tackling was near perfect, wow... How did we end the season so poorly with such a nasty defense?!

For the same reason we lit up Florida for 41 points in the Capital One bowl. A good defense isn't lights-out at every position. A good defense excels at not allowing the opponent to exploit the weaknesses that exist. This was still shortly after Safety Armageddon. Englemon was okay at best, Mundy was talented but couldn't cover worth a damn, but it didn't matter for most games because the front seven just killed everyone.

Just 2 things about this game.
I wonder what the score could have been if mario was playing, and I wonder if penn state didnt luck out and fall on every one of there fumbles what the score should have been.
He was completely off in this game. Every so often he makes a WTF statement but overall, I've always kind of liked Brent. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority on that.
