  • On Day 2 we moved to AutoRotations.
    When a paraglider gets a big collapse or cravat it might go into autorotation, and this is one of the biggest killers in our sport. For this reason practising how to get out of an autorotation is key to a safe flying career.
    Also managed to get in spins, cravat clearing and collision avoidance maneouvres. These are also critical to getting the wing back into flying configuration during an incident and proved to be very important on day 3.

    Such a wonderful edit - thank you for including both types of debrief!! (classroom and personal)
    This is going to get so many folks into the SIV track and stop avoiding... Flyeo seems like the total package

    Well that's a really good sign if your wing is super difficult to get in those situations that means it's a good wing

    Jeez! That wing is steady as a rock! I had the opposite reaction, straight into autorotation, I found it difficult to fly the good half of the wing. Great vids!

      What wing were you flying?

    • @RASPUK
      @RASPUK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndreBandarra1 I did my SIV on a Dudek universal (PPG wing but designed for paragliding when trimmed fully in) very steady wing in all other regards, just liked to whip into autorotation, no matter how much outside weight shift and brake I applied I couldn’t manage to fly the good half of the wing. I’m hoping to go back next year with a dedicated paragliding wing.

    Yes, forcing autorotation on good modern wing Is sometimes hard, for me even big weightshifting did not work and i have to push speed to slowly start the rotation 😃

    I’ve seen a technique where the compensation after a maneuver comes before the window, and it avoids the wing surge. Any comments in this regard?

    • @AndreBandarra1
      @AndreBandarra1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might not be optimal to prevent the wind from shooting in front in all situations, for instance if it’s a very low airspeed you want it to shoot to regain airspeed before braking to keep it from having a front collapse, but it’s hard to explain, I want to do a video about it

    Hi Guys, are these SIV courses used in paramotoring as-well? Great videos BTW!!

    • @AndreBandarra1
      @AndreBandarra1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are people that do it but it’s a lot less common than for paragliding. It’s a lot easier to get twisted because of the rotational inertia of the motor and if something goes wrong and you go in the lake it’s a lot bigger potential repair cost, so for that reason people don’t do it a lot
