I have not been happier since I left Games Workshop and all their products. I played GW games for 25 years, got my kids and grandkids into them as well. I was that guy you spoke of that just bought whatever they put out, I called it my GW tithe. After they betrayed the lore and crapped all over my loyalty as a customer, I walked away and I have not been happier since. I have discovered a bunch of cool games with awesome lore that is scratching that itch. There are plenty of games with plastic models that can be converted or 3D printed models. I do not need Games Wokeshop with their depraved social values and left-wing politics (Have you seen the new They/Them stormcast?). I was saving my pile of shame in the idiotic hope that maybe they would turn from their evil ways like Tractor Supply, Lowes and a lot of other U.S. companies who have seen where this road leads. But after this post, I realize that they will all burn before they stop pushing the progressive, communist, LGBT agenda and just focus on selling products hobbyists want to buy. I just got into collecting minifigs and reading warhammer books. I've always been of fan of a lot of the games but never branched out from there. But I am sticking to oldhammer 40k stuff. I'm collecting Rogue Trader and 2nd edition figures, reading Ian Watsons original warhammer novels. I don't think the newer stuff of the world interests me. I like the bonkers not giving a damn vibe I get from the old lore and old art. I'll still play the new games as long as they are fun, but most of this new stuff feels like there's something too corporate and clean about it all, not willing to take risks and pandering.
not that i have any say in this (as space marine 2 was gonna be my first 40k game but not anymore) but the way i see it is that we got a activation blizzard mergers situation going on here for context: back in 2008 when activation wanted to merge with blizzard but there were a small group of wows player base that noticed how activation kept making sloppy guitar/band hero game in the doesn't instead of their other IPs just cause of pure greed naturally these players tried to talk against blizzards merger but was shot down by other player who had no foresight of what the merger could truly mean from a future development point of view (witch turned out to be right on the money) like you said some people will just pretend this is not real... heck, i still know wow players that still claims wow is the greatest MMO in the world to this day but i do fear that maybe mistakes like this in the span of maybe 10 years is what it has to take for the majority to see that just like with blizzard i don't like to say that but i'm not a fool coming from wow to know how attracted some people can be on a franchise especially one they already have been invested in for "too long to quit now" as i have had to hear that line too often from the remaining blizzard fans point im making is they got you invested so what now... you're just gonna quit now and waste all that joy you have gotten from our product?? again can't really talk for the 40k fan base but it sure doesn't seem to sound all too different to me as far as holding their wallets on a nostalgic leach knowing full well players will consume anyway for at least a few years

The retcon of “sons of nobles” was very poorly handled without a doubt. I don’t think female custodians denigrates SoB/SoS any more than male custodians denigrate space marines. I will buy Space Marine 2 when it's $15.00 on steam. I am not going to destroy any of my 40k stuff. I still really enjoy Darktide. I was a Star Wars guy then it went to trash. I am going to read the pre primarus Marine lore that's when they killed Warhammer 40k for me. I really enjoyed the lore before that. I never got into the table top, or RTS games . I even enjoyed Fire Warrior it's a janky game hell, I am postal 2 fan it's janky .
Dawn of War 1 and 2 are really, really fun and from a time when game devs and GW actually cared about the setting and lore, plus were made by Relic, a fantastic old studio. Highly recommend.

It's all good. I stopped buying their box sets, paints, and books. Like the comic book industry, they'll have to learn the hard way.
