‘This is a terrible year for FRICK?’ He had strikers KILLED! You are a great curator and lecturer but to play down the evil of the man is unfortunate….to be ….polite.
Life is what it is, and will always be so: simultaneously horrible, complex but beautiful. It's your choice, but the question of beauty keeps one alive and questioning. Thanks.
@@LindaLinda80Linda i am not sure what more you wished Mr. Saloman to say. He mentioned it. "a terrible year for Frick" refers to the death of his infant son. Mr. Saloman does nothing to play down the strike or Frick's role in the deaths but the focus of the video was not on the strike but the Vermeer painting.
@ I don’t know what you want me to say, either. Wealthy from monopolies and building museums, libraries, etc. to raise the value of their real estate is criminal but only poor workers suffered. An big apology would be the least that could happen. And maybe a generous donation to various programs supporting the poor. I do not hold Mr. Salomon responsible for anything. In fact, he is outstandingly handsome and erudite. I would adopt him if I could. I think we need to be reminded how these Barons operated just as we need to be reminded how slaves built an America they could not enter into. Our real early history. It is my opinion and freedom of expression.
Incredibly knowledgable and passionate historian and curator. I’ve always admired Xavier Salomon.
Bravo.
Thank you so much Beautiful...Mr Xavier Salomon...🤩👏🌐💖

I just listened again….he doesn’t play down the strike or the deaths but its also not the focus of the lecture
@ Does that make it any less murderous?
