- Eurasian Harvest Mice, Micromys minutus, adults feeding and female with young in the nest. They are the smallest rodents in Europe, weighing an average of just 6 grams. The tail is semi prehensile and is used like a fifth limb when climbing.

I bought one of these a a pet store 15 years ago. I could never find the type of mouse that he was. All of the pet brown mice were too dark and none of the wild mice were that golden shade . His name was Roger and he lived in a pirate ship(Fischer-Price) in the bathtub.

I always used to put my hamsters in one of those 😂
We gave my mouse a pirate ship we constructed out of cardboard among other things like a plane, racecar, etc. His name was Chewbacca.

I remember the day when I tried to give my harvest mice new water, and one of them crawled up my sleeve and wanted to stay in there forever (probably because the sleeve was warm)

I can't get rid of this mouse in my house. Moved in about 3 weeks ago now, didn't even care that I was here. Made a nest in the sock drawer in the desk - so I haven't had access to at least 15 pairs of socks in almost a month. My paintbrushes are in there too. Anyways, I tried catching it but it's too fast. Wasted 2 days trying to get it. In the end I gave up. He wakes up at night, about 2am usually, and eats the biscuits and cabbage I put out for him. Drinks the water out of the egg cup. Then it fucks off under the door into the house. God knows what it's doing. Probably looking for females. There are no females. It's just me and the mouse.
Anyways, I figured it came in because it was cold outside down to freezing for a good 2 weeks. Now it's getting warmer. It's time for him to leave and go get married to a Mrs Mouse. But it seems he thinks this is his place now. Next week, I'm gonna have to seal the doorjam, empty the floorspace and grab the little tinker. ALready made a shoebox house for him in the shed outside. The holiday is over, mouse! I WANT MY SOCKS BACK!

These guys are all over the US. They also love their cornfields and flood into houses in the fall.
Hmm. The one of this video are Eurasian harvest mouse. These don't live in America, but you might saw a similar species. Eurasian harvest mIce never enter human houses.
