What's the difference between a PID and non-PID controller?

    • @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ

Thanks for Watching! a PID controller will adjust the temp inside the grill fro the temp probe. Non-PID is just a timed cycle it does not adjust to exterior temps

I asked you a few months ago which pellet grill to buy since I never owned one and you told me go for a Z grill. I bought a 600D3E and have been in love with it since! Very well made, keeps Temps perfect! Thank you again Tom and keep the great videos coming!

@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ hey, Tom! You’ve obviously used tons of different grills, and I’m wondering: which one is your all-time favorite and why?

Thanks Justin! Almost impossible question to answer, whatever one I’m cooking on is my favorite.

Great review and introduction Tom. I have a 700 Z grill (I keep it at my camper) and a Traeger Timberline (at home). I paid 2x for the Timberline (got a 40% discount through a club). I'd say the value for my money is with Z Grills, if I had to pay full price for the Traeger. Z Grills are a great pellet grill option no matter what model you get.

Nice review Tom and assembly seemed pretty easy with a small blister pack. That can certainly hold a lot of food! Snow in April in Wisconsin….here in Buffalo too. Smoked some ribs and beef/veal stew meat and made chili….on my pellet grill. Great video Tom! Cheers.

Isn’t it pretty common that the hotter side of a pellet smoker is the side the smoke stack is on?

I bought this 1000D3E and so far everything is great. I don’t like not being able to remove pellets through an access door.
