us old hippies loved to watch The Wizard of Oz movie with no sound and play the album Dark Side Of The Mood.....actually seems like it was made for it....the mood and song changes and all kinds of stuff match up.....Seen a version already synced up called Dark Side Of The Rainbow.......awesome experience
This is not the album, just two tracks: "Speak To Me/Breathe", and missing 5 tacks in between, then jumps to "Any Colour You Like", then misses the final two tracks - so most of the album is missing. The album is one long song with tracks running into each other, so best to treat it that way, as it was intended. The natural break in the vinyl was after the the fifth track ("The Great Gig in the Sky"), and side 2 started with "Money" through to "Eclipse".
@@jaybrielakoi7747 If you plan to do "Comfortably Numb" I would recommend doing the studio version then do the "1994 PULSE live" version....I will provide links below to make it easier on you....AHIMSA!!!!
I'm always surprised to notice that very few reactors if any at all comment & react to "Brain Damage" & "Eclipse" which I find two outstanding numbers in the album. Needless to say that I love Pink Floyd and the music they produced.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 There's absolutely nothing like the sound of a pedal steel guitar. David Gilmour plays it in many Pink Floyd songs. One of these days is a cool one.
By now you know this is not quite what you had in mind, but I really like this video mash-up, but of course just 3 tracks off of the album. I'm sure you are already planning a full album review just because of your excitement, I'm looking forward to your feelings about it. This song is already a part of me, so hearing it dissected from a fresh brain perspective is very interesting to me.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 You are going to notice something weird. Time goes twice as fast while you are listening to Floyd, but only if your eyes are closed.
A great reaction, thanks for giving your thoughts. Beacause of the confusing nature of the video you listened to, let me confirm what tracks you still have left to listen too: Track 03 - On The Run Track 05 - The Great Gig In The Sky Track 06 - Money Track 07 - Us & Them Track 09 - Brain Damage Track 10 - Eclipse Many of Floyds tracks merge seamlessly from one track to the next, so you may notice a few abrupt starts or finishes. Most of the time you can get away with it when listening/watching YT videos, but I'd say it's doubly important to listen to tracks 09 & 10 together. Other reactors have done it, so there's definitely a YT out there which does both. Edit: Removed Track 08 - Any Colour You Like
You need a paradigm shift guy. You constantly hear these great songs from the 60's and 70's and say that they sound like they might have come out recently ? What you should be saying if you ever hear a decent modern song is that it could have come out in the 70's. But I doubt you will ever hear a modern song that good.
So these days things are different. Technology has made us lazy. The old days people were forced to have talent because they couldn't depend on technology. They needed skill no questions asked. We manufacture what I call "Entertainers" I wouldn't consider our modern day singers very skilled. Now do we have talented musicians these days....yes we do it's just they aren't famous.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 What I get from your reply is that money is now more important than anything else. I agree, that seems to be the nub. Modern musicians are just as skilled as they ever were imho but something is missing. I disagree with the "its just they aren't famous" statement. More likely they are too famous and that's the problem. They get famous and rich before they get any good.
They should of replaced Any Colour you Like with on the Run since that would be the albums first three tracks. The sounds you hear in the beginning are little snippets of what's to come later on. The screaming just before the transition to breathe signifies giving birth and then you will hear that screaming again on the track The Great Gig in the Sky which is about death.
1. Instrumentation- I feel like they're using a ton of instruments but there is one instrument that i hear that I'm not sure of that I want you to verify. Is there a steele guitar in there? 2. This song is ahead of it's time by a couple of decades. This should be like a senior composition majors senior project is what it sounds like. Really futuristic idea. I'm surprised it garnered so much fame back in the days.
As @psbarrow said below "The Dark Side of the Moon" is an album(and Pink Floyd does not have a singular song named "Dark Side of the Moon"on this or any other album) but do not fret, a lot of newcomers to Pink Floyd also make the same mistake....I would recommend that you look at this as basically a kind of sampler for "The Dark Side of the Moon" album....AHIMSA!!!!

So I didn't look at their sheet music so I don't know the composition at all. I'm referring more to the style. I was in college kinda recently and composition music majors often had this style of music. In a broad sense of course but much more in this style. I don't know what they're doing now but I'd assume it's much of the same.

I just watched a little bit of that. That's pretty funny.
A lot of people have tuned in/spaced out to this album
i bet it's a lot better when you're on something. But that was the thing of the time right.

after the studio version you have to watch them live some song are better live
ya there are a lot of live songs up on youtube.
I don’t think I ever saw this video but I remember a visit to a Planetarium that used this song during the display. That was perfect placement 😉
lol, that's funny
Yes you heard pedal steel guitar
Thanks for the info that's interesting. My dad had a friend that played steel guitar and I loved the sound of it.
