A man has transformed his back garden into a tropical paradise complete with running waterfall and a huge koi pond - for his poorly pet pooch.
Chris Lodge, from Wollaston, Northamptonshire, has spent three years and thousands of pounds on the mammoth project, which also includes a rope bridge, Tiki hut, lighting and dozens of tropical trees and succulents.
The 45-year-old construction worker used his spare time to create a piece of paradise for himself, his wife Sharon and their poorly pet dog, Dice.
And now the Boxer dog - who is unable to roam far from home due to seizures - can often be found falling asleep on the wooden bridge as he listens to the soothing sound of running water.

I'm a 73 yr old grandma with diabetes and arthritic knees so I can't do a lot but my wonderful son and his family finally caught to the idea I want for my yard. I am high risk for covid and stay home with my family next door and my dog. I decided I want as tropical as possible tho I live 40 miles from Mexico border in southwest Texas. We started last week planting palms and ordered 6 more; also bananas and cannas by my pool with small waterfall. I'm slowly figuring out what tropical plants work in Zone 9 and the cut ants won't eat. I'm looking forward to my granny friends spending some tropical time here as we enjoy the time we have left. You are such an inspiration for me. Please pray we'll get it figured out and in 2 to 3 yrs will be what I envision. Thank you so much.

You are amazing, not many people in the world would consider the enjoyment of their dog over the holidays for themselves. I have an old boy of 16 who i flatly refuse to leave he also has heart problems and a bit of dementia so I had to make my tropical garden friendly around him including barriers on the pond bridge which is his favourite sunbathing spot. I love this! I'm planning on building my own tiki bar, but most of the how-to videos seem to go for the cheap, "just throw some palm thatch here & there, then call it a day" kind of feel. I'm looking to do something that looks like a mini Trader Vic's or Don the Beachcomber got dropped in my backyard. This is one of the best ones I've seen so far.
