Re. NY battalion, Cassad posted an Ukie complaint that his battalion in Toretsk area had 22 able men left. That's 3 squads worth, not even a company. With these numbers I can easily see "2 battalions" surrounded. In reality it's more like 1 company's worth.

Concerning the workforce, I would like to correct a few elements. In fact, we have a good example of this with a discussion between General Bonaparte who returned victorious from the Egyptian campaign and another French General who had been defeated in Italy. The second General indicates that he was beaten because his army was outnumbered. To which Bonaparte replied that it was normal because “it is always the most numerous who win”. The other General then points out that Bonaparte's army was outnumbered in Egypt, but had won. Bonaparte then responds that this is normal because "it is always the most numerous who win"...
Faced with incomprehension, Bonaparte then explained one of the three basic military principles, namely that one should not take the overall number, but the number on a point.
In fact, the three principles complement each other: concentration of efforts, economy of forces and freedom of action. The concentration of efforts will consist of analyzing the entire enemy force, and concentrating its efforts on the weakest point.
Let's imagine that we have 6 very small abcdef groups and the enemy has 3 (ABC) but very strong. If the enemy's point B is the weakest, we will attack him. But be careful: we are definitely not going to attack point B with our abcdef groups because otherwise, the enemy's groups A and C will come to the rescue!
We are therefore going to attack enemy group A with our small group a, C with our group f and we are going to attack the enemy's weak group (B) with bcde.
The goal of our groups a and f is not to defeat A and C which is unthinkable in any case, but simply to prevent A and C from coming to B's help.
For this we must "save our forces" (2nd point of military logic): we will calculate the minimum that we must engage against A and C to contain them, and put everything else against B. If we do not put enough forces against A and C, these two groups will break free and help B and if we put too many forces against A and C, we risk having difficulty defeating B.
The 3rd point is that we must maintain “freedom of action”, therefore a sort of freedom of movement. Because when B is crushed by our small groups bcde, we will have to analyze the situation of a against A and of f against C in order to determine which enemy group we must focus our effort on, either depending on the weakness of one of the enemy groupe or depending on the difficulty of our groups a or f to maintain themselves against A and C.
For the moment the Russians are constantly maneuvering while the Ukrainians are losing their "freedom of action" because as soon as they move to help, they create a "hole" and the Russians rush into it. For the Ukrainians the question is therefore permanent: the Russians are advancing on village X. OK, but do we go there, or do we protect village Y, where we are? If the Ukrainians stay on Y, then X will fall and if they move to protect X, Y will fall.
As for the concentration of efforts, now it can only be on the Russian side because the concentration of efforts, as said previously, does not only consist of attacking a point, but also of preventing the arrival of help. We must therefore maintain our freedom of action while disturbing the enemy one. However, overall, if the Ukrainians concentrate their efforts on one point, they will no longer have the necessary manpower to fix the Russians on the other points.
    The breaking point is approaching...

I remind, already was attempt to stop everything - Minsk agreement. They failed. Also let’s remember WW2. Officially it stopped in 1945, right? But exactly there it continued for next 11 years with loses of over 300k people. Because all pro-German UA forces continued to fight. What is important - it continue on territory which USSR fully controlled. Now imagine whole uncontrolled country with direct Western support…
So, this is events for next ~10 years.
      P.S.
Trump again lying. When he came to power, de facto it is he started this war of sanctions. And secretly sent weapons to UA.

The trenchhopping war has turned out to be of more importance lately. Russia has chunk by chunk gained a substantial amount of territory in Donbas and at least broken through 2 major lines of defence. Reason is they could establish quiet constant drone surveillance of up to 20 km behind UAF lines and are able to identify weak spots in the defence this way. Also this allows to attack with minimal forces, avoiding the gathering of larger troops with the risk of discovery. UAF working hard on countermeasures against surveillance drones, but so far nothing really works. And UAF forces are quite attrited and also made a number of tactical mistakes. Nobody knows what the purpose really was of the Kharkiv offensive, but in one aspect it‘s been successful: It binds 12.000 - 30.000 UAF forces that could fight in Donbas instead. RUAF mostly attack mad max style on motorbikes now, too fast for artillery. UAF uses FPV to fight them what means one drone per one infantryman, but you cannot have drones ready at all times everywhere. Glide bombs are still a major problem for UAF, countermeasure is to destroy as much RUAF air defense as possible in the hope F 16 can suppress them in the future. Ukraine has solved EW jamming of JDAMS, but can glidebomb the Russians only in Kharkiv, there they have destroyed the Russian air defence. UAF is about to have its own land to land missiles with a range of 400 km ready. There’s still the ban for western missiles to be used on Russian territory with exemptions, but the West has helped Ukraine to develop their own. So there will be combined missile and drone attacks according to the Russian tactics on Russian territory. Russia must decide to rearm and maintain air defense in Crimea to protect the bridge and military assets, or accept air superiority of Ukraine and leave only garrison troops in Crimea. The latter is likely, because they know Ukraine can’t invade Crimea, and they have already lost appr. 15 S300/400 batteries in Crimea. We‘ll see how far this all gets for both sides until the US elections.

You realise russia is currently moving through the most fortified place on the planet right? If not in human history and winning against all of nato, its quite the feat.
Every village, town and city in the donbass has been turned into a fortress, every sheep shed in the middle of nowhere, when you look at the fortifications they've pushed through, you'll realize the front has moved alot, ukr is also running out of fortifications and is also dipping into the undesirable less effective manpower now, forcing people to fight and reserving its proper armies to maintain "order" to keep this sham going longer and depopulate the country before the proper war starts.
In another year ukr will be having manpower shortages, then nato troops will man the borders and then the mission creep will begin to full war, even though it cannot be won.
