I've heard that only about 30% of Iranians identify as Muslim now. In 1979, just after the Shah was kicked out, my parents travelled through Iran on their way home to Australia. My mum sat with an Iranian woman in a park in Tehran and even though they didn't know each other's language, the woman made it clear that she didn't like what had just happened, that now her country was taken over by the mullahs.
As an Iranian Canadian, xmuslim, despite all the anti-Israel media push, I still stand with Israel. I was on a pro-Israel march in Vancouver and was really happy to see a young man holding an Iranian flag (pre-Islamist revolution) and giving us the peace sign as we marched past him. It surprised me and encouraged me to see someone from an Islamic country supporting Israel. There is hope!!!
I see that too at every year at yearly marches for Israel, and at first I was confused, but I got to talking to them, and they are the friendliest people. And now every time I see that flag I know peace is possible

I watched a brief news report today showing an older woman in Gaza being questioned on the food and aide coming into Gaza. She said she didn't care what Hamas did to her as she was speaking out and telling the reporter that Hamas were taking all the food supplies for themselves. That is a brave woman who felt compelled and not afraid to speak the truth. These women are the true leaders.

I heard the same thing about the Red Cross from the victims of the floods and wildfires in BC. Therefore I donated to local companies who were matching the donations, which is going directly to the people who had to be evacuated and loss their homes. I am Canadian senior and Christian, I'm shocked and concerned about these protests, it appears to me that some of the young people have been radicalized or are ignorant of history. My father and my uncles fought in WW2 with the Canadian military, they'd be horrified that once again the Jews are being persecuted and murdered again. Right after Oct 7th attack was known by the public, Prime Minister of Canada Trudeau made an unequivocal statement on the militant group Hamas, labelling them "terrorists' who oversaw the "slaughter" of innocent people in Israel. Opposition leader in Canada Pierre Poilievre spoke at a rally for Israel in Ottawa, calling Hamas a 'terrorist death cult' and condemning their attacks on Israel. Canada has said they will increase more education in schools regarding the holocaust but for me that need to do more such as having guest speakers or videos of their speeches such as the Son of Hamas, Dr. Qanta Ahmed, Dalia Ziada historians on Israel and the Jews. These pro-hamas/ palestine protesters are chanting hate speech but it appears to be tolerated such as “Free Palestine from the river to sea” which is hate speech and a threat, as it means the elimination of Israel and the Jewish people. In 1979, just after the Shah was kicked out, my parents travelled through Iran on their way home to Australia. My mum sat with an Iranian woman in a park in Tehran and even though they didn't know each other's language, the woman made it clear that she didn't like what had just happened, that now her country was taken over by the mullahs.

I watched a brief news report today showing an older woman in Gaza being questioned on the food and aide coming into Gaza. She said she didn't care what Hamas did to her as she was speaking out and telling the reporter that Hamas were taking all the food supplies for themselves. That is a brave woman who felt compelled and not afraid to speak the truth. These women are the true leaders.

I am Canadian senior and Christian, I'm shocked and concerned about these protests, it appears to me that some of the young people have been radicalized or are ignorant of history. My father and my uncles fought in WW2 with the Canadian military, they'd be horrified that once again the Jews are being persecuted and murdered again. Right after Oct 7th attack was known by the public, Prime Minister of Canada Trudeau made an unequivocal statement on the militant group Hamas, labelling them "terrorists' who oversaw the "slaughter" of innocent people in Israel. Opposition leader in Canada Pierre Poilievre spoke at a rally for Israel in Ottawa, calling Hamas a 'terrorist death cult' and condemning their attacks on Israel. Canada has said they will increase more education in schools regarding the holocaust but for me that need to do more such as having guest speakers or videos of their speeches such as the Son of Hamas, Dr. Qanta Ahmed, Dalia Ziada historians on Israel and the Jews.
These pro-hamas/ palestine protesters are chanting hate speech but it appears to be tolerated such as “Free Palestine from the river to sea” which is hate speech and a threat, as it means the elimination of Israel and the Jewish people. Are our Canadian laws too weak or are they not being enforced?

It's truly unbelievable that after the Holocaust happened, here are the Jewish people again being murdered and terrorized. I am baffled by the tolerance (or is it fear) of hate speech by too many. What's happened to our youth who are so easily swayed by Tik Tok, actors/singers and such yet don't know basic history? Critical thinking skills seem to have gone down the drain. It's honestly very scary.
I fully believe our politicians and policing forces don't really know how to handle the huge loud and aggressive pro-Palestinian protests. I think they fear angering Islamist extremists from blitzing us, doing another 9-11. We should in fact be afraid but we must not show it so those wanting to cause harm will jump on our weakness. The videos showing Hamas leaders screaming with clenched fists stating they want to repeat Oct 7th again and again must be taken totally seriously because they mean it. Just watching them scream their desire to plan more killings with pride is terrifying. They must be stopped. May Hamas surrender, or be stopped so there can be peace.
