  • In this video we are replacing the OEM stock muffler on a 2007 Honda Civic LX Sedan model. This pertains to the 8th Generation Honda Civic from 2006-2011 model years. This is our first time replacing the muffler on this Honda Civic. The muffler was damaged in a rear end collision where it was pushed in and left the piping warped which caused rubbing and clacking noise hitting the frame of the vehicle. Since we replaced the muffler with a used OEM muffler from the junkyard the car is now fine making no more clacking noises!! We are glad to share with you our experience with this video!! We hope that this video at least educates fellow 8th Generation Honda Civic owners on how to replace their stock OEM muffler. Thanks for watching!!

You either didn't show or you didn't replace the donut gasket. If you don't use the donut where the flanges meet up it's going to start to leak pretty quickly.

Well it’s been a year since the installation of this oem muffler from the junkyard and the vehicle recently passed the smog check and has been running with no issues at all.

What if you just removed old muffler and didn’t replace it with new one? Will it cause any performance issues or just noise

So, it won't affect performance, but your exhaust fumes will start to leak up into the rear cabin of the car.
Mine was damaged and now you can smell the exhaust fumes in the rear of the car.
The replacement muffler is like $50 new. You can also just add on a straight pipe if you don't care about the noise.
