    This year cooper is one of the best in terms on engine longevity. But it is common for the exhaust to rust out so take a good look at the exhaust and hangers. Also if it is a manual transmission it should be good but the automatics tend to fail at higher mileage ranges.

      Hello Vladimir, This is usually due to a failed sensor or the sensor is worn through. I also have seen aftermarket sensors not allow resets. I would hang a new sensor not installed. Just plug it into the connection for the body harness side and try to reset the light. If it goes out it proves the sensor is bad.

    Hello, This is a code for the intake camshaft sensor. IMost of the time the failure is just the sensor. I will be trying to make a video on this sensor this weekend.

  • @AskTheCarExperts
    @AskTheCarExperts  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The sensor can cause the brake and ABS lights to come on but the only lights you see should be for the brakes. Replace the sensor and reset the reminder, hopefully it will remove the warnings you see.

    Did you follow the reset procedure and was the sensor replaced?

  • @AskTheCarExperts
    @AskTheCarExperts  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Unfortunately you cannot go back once it was reset. The dealer may be able to using a test plan that can change the oil service counter and mileage. It might be worth just keeping track yourself or an extra oil service never hurts :)

    Some resets are done by just leaving the key on but engine off. Others like the mini in this video needs to be reset as shown.

    Not something I will be able to make unfortunately. Not until I own one :) Still have a long way to go on my E46 though.

    Hi there, I'm assuming, yes / no, can I follow this procedure for a Cooper S 2013. I seem to be able to reset all the info, but the service light is still showing. What could I have missed ?

      +A H Hello, When you start your vehicle it will always show the next service due even if it still has quite some time before it is due. Maybe this is what you are seeing? You can also contact me via my website at www.bmwdiy.com if you need further assistance.

    Hello, That symbol is usually for low brakes. Your brakes may be worn past the brake pad sensor or the warning you see may be due to low brake fluid. If the fluid is good you should have your brakes inspected.

    This sounds like the outside temp sensor and or wiring may be damaged. Then the wires or open in reads -40 when touching they can read +122.

    I replaced the brake pads off my mini cooper S and did not replace the wire that alerts when they need to be replace. After I was finished I noticed all the lights on the dash were blinking on and off. When I say all I mean all of those alerts pop up, but I'm guessing I would need to reset it in order to make those lights stop blinking...am I correct?

  • @AskTheCarExperts

    This may mean that the brake service is due. You should have your brakes inspected.

    Depending on the year of the MINI a code needs to be entered for each new key. For newer MINI's you can do the key initialization procedure like I show on a BMW. The procedure is the same. This would only be for the remotes and not for starting.

    The brake light still on?

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Abel, If the brake pad light will not reset it may be an issue with a brake pad sensor. They are one time use and if there is an open in the circuit it will not allow the brake pad reset to be performed. I hope this helps.
