Hi James + Rich, The new door looks well, good job. I must say the wood cladding on the shed does look great. Can't waits to see it all done. As always a great video Take care
Makita Lc1230 with a diamond tip blade. We have had ours 8 years now and only change the blade twice. Lovely bit of kit and always a straight edge. Another great video keep up the good work.
When you're drilling bigger holes like for the hinge pin, fold a small scrap of rag over a couple of times and put it between the drill's point and the pilot hole, stops it grabbing and snagging. I've a basic Evolution cut off saw which is great (wish I'd bought the one with the cast base though, bit more substantial than my pressed tin one) but the blades can "go off" very quickly and they aren't cheap. I bought a saw blade sharpener from ebay, (Chinese kit of parts really !) but fine tuning it is an ongoing project at the moment.
We’ve got a 14” machine mart cut off saw with the TCT blade rather than abrasive disc. Had it about 30 years and it been faultless. Also use a unibor mag drill which is great
1 very posh looking workshop front, be ideal with the doors finished, like you I use inches and metric usually at the same time all depending where it comes on my inch tape lol. Dont do a huge amount of fabrication but when I do I always cut out with a 9in or 4.5in disc cutter with as thin a blade as possible on tin. Didn't see your welds up close but as long as you can stick 2 pieces of steel together and it's for your own use it really doesn't matter . Keep up the good work.
I need to build a 7m x 7m steel framed shed, this has given me some inspiration. Just need to source some steel, hopefully there will be something suitable in a farm sale. Great content, keep it up. 🇬🇧🚜👍
I'd used a band saw loads before wanting a chop saw or equivalent for home use. I bought an Evolution chop saw. It's *SO LOUD*. The cheap ones work, they're fast, but annoyingly badly built. If I was doing it again (and had the space) I'd definitely go for the band saw. Doesn't have to be a fancy one, the Spaldings (Truecraft) one was fine, Axminster ones are fine. I'd quite like a Femi one for home because they're that much smaller.
tidy job that cladding looks great

Nice, I will check them out 👍🏼
Drill bits - Beal workshop supplies are great for that sort of thing.
But for the gate hinges I'd probably just use a holesaw.
Ideal cheers 👍🏼
I’ve a metabo CS22 355 chop saw for 5+ years, used weekly and has never missed a beat, definitely recommend!
Thank you Joe, I will check it out 👍🏼
When drilling hole bigger put a piece of emery cloth on hole,it will stop vibration of drill.

I would really like a bandsaw, we will see 👍🏼
Put in tec screws instead off rivits
Although they are easier to put in, they’re to easily to undo.
