In this vlog you can see how we harvest the sugar beets. Fortunately, despite the rain in the past period, harvesting was still possible on Wednesday under fairly dry conditions.
We have a small area of ​​sugar beet (4 ha) and therefore have a contractor (Vedelaar from Nagele) harvest. He does this with a Grimme bunker harvester. In addition, it comes with a tractor and large tipper, so that the harvester does not come to a standstill.
The yield of the sugar beets has never been so high for me, despite the considerable spots with yellowing disease. Next Tuesday, the sugar beets will be collected and further processed in the Cosun factory. At the end of this week I will know the exact yield.
