She did a cover of Evanescence's My Immortal around the same time, these were part of a live stream she did. Just sublime.
Her recent performance of "Gusto ko nung Bumitaw" is a monster. She belts, squeaks and blows your mind with her power.

Amazing thing about , her "My Immortal" cover, is she's cross legged on her bed, playing keyboard and, has the sustain pedal under her right knee. It's a stunning cover.

the only artist that gives me goosebumps each time I listen to any of her live performances even when I had watched it for so many times
The thing is that she's singing at the totally edge of her vocal cords when she's singing quietly. She's also able to shape her vocal tract to create whatever sound she wants to with her voice. She's a technically proficient vocalist.

She's also reading the lyrics. She's done a bunch of these at home not even really knowing the songs she clams and just laugh it off but not losing her pitch. Just really "Unplugged"

Her intonation is impecable and I believe being with her musical director Adonis Tabanba , can take some credit. He has worked with her since 2015/16 and leading 3RD Avenue his band and her back-up singers, his ear is a pitch instrument. Mori is continually finding new techniques and what her voice can do. Her cover of O'Holy Night, Favor Church , is sung like you have never heard it before....no vocal tricks, growls, squeaks.
Morissette is such a great singer and a beautiful woman and I just love it when she sings never enough for me and sings it much better than the original ❤❤❤
Morrisette had her 26th birthday this past June. Her sound or tone has deepened just in the last several years. I know she constantly works to extend her lower range and her audience demands that she continually strengthen her upper range because she said, “That’s what Filipinos get excited about.” You know more than me, but I have always heard that a singer/vocalist who continues training normally reaches maturity in their thirties. Sometimes I think of Morrisette, if God blesses, as a 40 year old professional singer, her wonderful natural tone, with the experience and expertise of Soyang. That would be interesting.
Of course, we're always learning and reteaching ourselves even as our voices change throughout the years. I hadnt heard her sing for quite sometime, it caught me off guard the depth of her voice these days.

It is interesting people like this Morrisee version of this song. She had just been released after a week in the hospital with Covid and a serious bout of diverticulitis in early January 2022. She has a more rambuctious version in a live stream several months later. Some of the live steam performances over the last two years are special. Not as precise as her concerts or other public appearances, but so satisfying.
tbh I kind of love this version of her. Dont get me wrong, her upbeat personality is so endearing - but this song especially required this perfect approach she brought.

Her musicality is way up there.
At that part, 2 notes back and forth (whatever u call that), I thought she was gonna mess up coz it felt like she was delayed a bit but she made it work very well. That was beautiful.

Agree with someone else who recommended My Immortal. Just her sitting down playing the keyboard is just amazing! I think it was one of the many mini concerts she put on during Covid.

GOSH! The way you dissected her superb performance, listening to you talk about how and what Mori did to the song is so spot on ... gave me goosebumps. I didn't even know she did this or that until you pointed it out. I listen to her and enjoy her performances but hearing a Musical Theatre COACH'S reaction made me appreciate her even more. I truly believe (through my exhaustive research) that Miss Morisette Amon is the Greatest Female Pop Singer Alive and the Greatest Female Pop Singer of her Generation. Whenever I hear Miss Morisette sing I know that I am in the presence of Greatness.
With all due respect to Miss Morisette and her husband I find it absolutely impossible NOT to fall in love with her. You can interpret that any way you want.

Dude, I watched your Mori reactions from the start, and tbh... your first impressions conveyed that you felt the 'hype" from her fan base was undeserved. @@steveheckle8847 don't get me wrong Mori in my opinion is the best female artist on planet. Dimash best male vocalist, and Angelina best young female artist. All 3 are world class all with different singing techniques and great on the ears.

I don't disagree that this is more of her being an artist than a force of nature with her belting, whistle tones and crazy breath control. The other stuff I'd say reflects this side of her from years ago is the acapella version of Rise Up and her amazing cover of Mariah Carey's Fly Like A Bird. She has some legitimate soul in her singing. That's why I always say she's a mix of Whitney, Mariah and Celine. She does a little of each of their strengths and still manages to sound like herself.
If she could only write songs like Elton John or Dolly Parton or Billy Joel or Joni Mitchell or Stevie Nicks or Willie Nelson or Prince....she would easily be the best musician of all time. She's figuring it out. She's got the voice part on lock. She's intelligent enough to figure out the music too. Just not enough experience. She's put all of her points in vocal ability thus far. She'll get it. She is supremely creative with her voice and there's no reason to think she can't be that creative with the music.

I listened to a lot of songs from 1930’s and 40’s when it seems like vibrato was more in style. So I like it.
Morrisette has excellent dynamics. I really like the way she sings.
She has a cool and unique beautiful vibrato. It is not a doing. It is influenced from her Arabic culture. Which she misses beautifully with modern day contemporary music. She also has a much more beautiful tone and stylistic ability than Morrissette ever could
Also, Faouzia is a better songwriter and plays about four or five instruments. So talk about overall artist…
And you wanna know what’s annoying? That’s screechy squeak Morissette on almost every song…
