Hi! I just bought deauville made in 1997, it’s in very good condition with few water marks on the vachetta. I’m just wondering if your bag is stiff. Mine is stiffer than my 11 year old LV canvas bag. I’m just wondering if the stiffness is normal for the age of the bag. It’s a beautiful bag and spacious no matter what. Thanks for sharing

Hi what soap did you use along with the baby wipes to clean the bag ?
hi, just a normal soap for hand wash.
Regular cleaning with saddle soap will protect your bag & it'll have less wear and tear from daily use. Make sure wipes doesn't have fragrance or alcohol as it dries the canvas/leather. My mother-in law had an older LV from the 80's & you're right, it's thicker. The quality def changed in the late 99's-2000's, LV enthusiasts' will agree the brown leather starts to crack anywhere the bag bends often.it's the pain shared by all LV lovers how the vachetta turns dark brown on handles, unless cleaned thoroughly & often. I wish I knew this when I bought my LV's🥺

I wipe my bag with baby wipes first then let it dry and apply the leather conditioner (same from the video) but the shine doesn't stay for long. And what are you using?

I would avoid any oils as it will discolour your vachetta handles on a monogram. If its the Damiar Ebene/brown leather, use a spray that contains oil for cleaning leather car seats@@realinas

Does anyone have this kind of bag (deuville/trouville) with odor inside? I bought preloved and it has crayon smell which some people said its common on this bag. I tried wiping it with baby wipes and leather conditioner. Also baking soda for a wk but odor is still there
I use dryer sheets for the odor.
Yes, it had smell but not anymore. You can keep the bag outside for a while and then wipe it after.
Yes, the dryer sheets work, just make sure you choose a nice fragrance as the bag absorbs the smell. I also sprayed with a good quality Chanel fragrance, now it smells great. @@sunsetstudios2274
