Challenge:Play Soviet union and do third Rome(beaten but not defeated path) and conquer the world, but on extreme difficulty and no air, only tonks and infantry(you can use special forces)
Taureor in 99% of his videos: "Let's decrypt the Germans/French/Whoever" *Time and invasion passes.* "Oh, I forgot to use the cipher 😅 well, we didn't need it anyway" Got to love it🤣
This was so ridiculously chaotic with everyone joining random sides, that was actually so much fun, seeing you improvising against every new weird thing the game throws at you. I do like you mixing in some non-historically every now and then, this is delightful.
38:16, For future reference you can hover over the province, and on the bottom of the black popup will say, "Cores: Germany, (then whoever else cores it.)" For example: If you look at 38:20, your mouse is hovering right over a province, and the black popup next to it on the bottom says, "The German Reich, Silesia, The Congressional Commonwealth." This means that Germany, Silesia, and you core that province. Hope this helps! 😁
This was an insane game! I think saving the full random ai for meme runs like this is one of the best ways to incorporate it. Serious games should probably be kept to historical.
I love doing complete random non historical just because of the level of chaos and intrigue it brings. It makes planning and knowing your enemy more important than ever
The randomness made it very entertaining and nice to see how you prepared and adapted to it. It helped that you had a final goal and sticked with it, that gave the chaos a kind of lead. But historical was always nice, too!
Hey Taureor, I’ve been watching your HOI4 videos for a few years now and just wanted to say that it’s easily some of my favourite gaming content, I love the overall style and consistency of your channel. Keep up the great work and I wish you and your family good health and happiness.
If you get enough air superiority you can paradrop behind the maginot and strangle it but for that you also need transport planes so they can get enough supply to hold and attack.
When I saw the title I literally shouted "Yeah!" Haven't watched yet but I'm very excited. I think this was a very good video to do randomized focuses, since I'm pretty sure you already did Anastasia, so it adds a bit more interest to it
I don't know why I force myself to watch feature length movies but when I see a hour plus long video about achieving some arbitrary goal in a map game to get a ww2 meme as the leader of Poland, I'm just totally fine with it
I love that you’re getting sponsors! Tho my favourite will always be when you said there was a quick message from a sponsor then it was just you drinking water 😂
@@Taureor I truly and genuinely enjoy all your videos. You have amazing content and with 3k+ hours myself I truly enjoy seeing others' playstyles in various situations as you might see in a MP and would definitely enjoy seeing your strategies!!
I actually really like totally random focus trees, I have been watching you for several years and having every time almost the same game… well it’s not that fun to watch after so many videos. So this time was really entertaining watching you trying to adapt to the current situation rather then knowing beforehand what was going to happen. Though, just ahistorical will work just fine, if it is too much chaos for you.
What I like to do is plan specific things out so it’s not historical but still something you can prepare for. An example is making the Allies monarchies just to see how it changes things if France is the Franco Spanish union
I do generally prefer playing on historical or at least manipulating the AI into going down certain paths, but every once in a while I enjoy the chaos of random AI focuses. That said, I've played non-historical enough that I've picked up some methods for determining which paths the AI will go down, which amount to a combination of looking at leaders and their traits (e.g. Pierre Laval gets "Tenacious Negotiator" France does the "Revive the National Bloc" focus), looking at political pie charts (especially useful for Britain, the US, and Japan), events (like Germany remilitarizing the Rheinland or becoming engulfed in civil war), and looking at national spirits (e.g. "The Centre" path for the Soviet Union always gives them the "Politburo" spirit). Germany and Japan are by far the easiest nations to figure out because they decide their paths immediately.
This episode was very entertaining. I learned some tips when you had to think on your feet. I think non historical is good if you want the ai to do stupid things.
Chalenge idea. Name of idea: confusion How this works is that you need to play as iceland and tajeover the entire world and must have every single teratory but afterwards realise them all as independed countrys. Rules: historical focuses off, you cant join any faction and have fun I hope you like the idea
I think historical focuses off but not totally random would be best if this was too random for you. I very much liked that you were kept on your toes, but it's important that you still enjoy the gameplay
in an Indian legend there is an elephant who becomes the regent of a prince after the king dies, the king was the elephant's master then the elephant defeats an invading enemy, protects the prince until he becomes the king, and becomes a hero
So... Accidentally recreates the map from 1984 Taureor - the bear is king! This was the one thing, stopping George's book from being turned into a Disney musical.
This was a true shitstorm of the most glorious kind, one where the goal is still achieved even when everything just plots against you to make it go wrong. Damn those Japanese surprise troops came out of nowhere! Awesome vid, would love to see more complete random games in the future, still love the historical though, something about the fully planned strategy is just fun ^^ Out of curiosity, do you have all the hoi achievos yet? You've played enough that it feels as though you'd somehow would have ended up getting them all in passing if you didn't target them.
I very much so enjoy ahistorical more than pure vanilla. When you play historically it can get repetitive as a viewer, but I'm here for your talent nonetheless.
I went full Anastasia in historical to secure everything and get all slavic cores, grabbing Hamadan along the way (similar to your approach in your Anastasia vid). Also, you can build local recruiting immediately to get a Soviet nationality agent first and avoid losing a Polish agent to counterint.
An idea for a challenging but interesting video you could do: go down the "Lead the Minor Democracies" path as the Netherlands, with the goal of forming the European Union. Netherlands starts out pretty weak with a bunch of horrible debuffs, but if you form the Benelux Federation, rush the Foundations for a European Union focus and then do the military/industrial stuff, you can get quite powerful quickly. Plus, you can make bicycle infantry from the beginning. With Historical focuses, Germany will always declare war on you, as will Japan, and you can get a focus wargoal on Britain. There's several ways you can get into a scuffle with the USSR too, so you can end up fighting all the major powers while being democratic! I've tried this a couple of times and have had trouble quickly capitulating Germany; but I'm sure you can figure out how to do it.
I sure do miss Order 66 in HOI4, hopely it will be done like before. Keep trying Tauteor, you will regain your talents. P.S I wish your son to live a happy life.
Not gonna lie, as I have tested Poland monarchist path dozen times your approach is every suboptimal. Not once did I get rejected on Slovakia, and Yugo claim is 20% by default.
You actually don't need to have Wojtek as a Commander to get him as king. At least it worked for me to just take moscow as Poland with "Anastasia Romanov" on the throne.
I'm pretty sure you need him, in my Anastasia run I had her and Moscow, but no Wojtek and the event didn't happen I think. Maybe you got the event and missed it?
@@Taureor This could be possible, but I remember that it took quite a while until the event fired, that we have found the secret documents about the Romanovs.. Maybe it is just that? Or maybe the Game bugged and I got lucky. Either way it is still nice to have the option to crown Wojtek as King 😄. (Btw, thx for the videos, I really appreciate it 👍)
I'm enjoying these non-hystorical focuses games quite a lot. The uncertainty these games provide is both challenging and interesting. You know, we love seeing you struggle hehe... Jokes aside, it's interesting seeing you thinking strategies and adjusting them as the world unfolds mind-blowing turns of events...and with states not being so "linear", you can't exploit 100% of your so far immense knowledge of the game's mechanics, you do in the end but it's not that railed. And let's be honest, the fact that history takes such different paths from reality is interesting as it is btw.

An interesting anecdote to get kids interested in history I guess :)
Very based
Like Count NICE and very based anecdote
Now let’s all make it 420
Probably due to taureors ild video om wojtek!

Got to love it🤣
I love how he can't be bothered to build anti-air but actually does the tedious spy network stuff. I hate spy networks, they're unfun and tedious

Finally, a leader worth fighting and dying for.
it's beautiful how chaotic random focuses are
Ah yes Poland is a great nation to play in hoi4
Can be quite difficult at times, but yes, it offers a lot of options
i love your continuation of going full random with non-historical. very fun
I wonder if you could do like an "spectator mode" run of this "fully random focuses" playstyle, it's quite entertaining to see all the chaos ensue.
If you get enough air superiority you can paradrop behind the maginot and strangle it but for that you also need transport planes so they can get enough supply to hold and attack.
In my opinion, totally random is much more enjoyable since it requires more flexible thinking and you see stuff that rarely happens
Im very happy you went Random, I enjoy Historic but I feel like most things have been done now, so Random hopefully becomes more common in your videos

ahistorical is MUCH more interesting, watching you adapt to an everchanging situation is really fun to watch
Going completely random is more fun. I saw Senor Hilter once and for once without console command.
One way you can tell what the Soviet Union is doing is to look at the ideology chart. If it looks weird than you know there’s gonna be a civil war.
I guess that is a good point
