    Your response Harry, regarding Southgate stepping down, is exactly what I mean when I say Arsenal related content creation is, as a whole, currently in a much better place than United related content creation. Sane and level headed.

    Welcome back Harry… I understand strengthening the squad rather than the first team … but it must be due to financial constraints rather than Mikel and Edus choice.. I’ve got serious doubts that this strategy will see us finally overtake City

    Merino would be underwhelming for me, unless we also bring in a more offensive midfield option
    If we signed Calafiori, Merino and Eze then thats better. Ideally another forward too, seen links to Joao Felix on loan, wouldnt mind that, another forward option and then can maybe move for the striker we want next summer ie an Isak or a Sesko
    Definitely think its important we get someone with a bit of flair, who can create or score, Eze I think brings that

      Id definitively take merino, he is just solid wood, perfect profile to balance out our midfield both as a left 8 and as a deep playmaker nr 6.
      .. ideally eze too, but merino for 20 mill is to me a great option.

      @@user-tr9kw7jz3z Cole Palmer cost about 42 Mil last year after playing how many PL games? ESR has done way more in the game than Palmer has up until the point he got sold. Granted he's had a fantastic year and now your comment is valid but last year Cole Palmer compared to ESR.. ESR was definitely worth more than him. Lucky to get 15Mul but we've turned down 30 mil twice from Fulham and in the past Aston Villa? Maybe you haven't been following English football. You know Chelsea sold a youngster who has no PL experience for 22 Ms right? All of that affects the market and is not done in isolation!!

    Merino is 28 and what's he gonna be? A squad player? Surely we would be better served by giving those minutes to one of our academy boys? Even if they dont make it at Arsenal them having prem minutes will boost their value if we decide to sell.
    All Merino does is cost money and blocks someone's pathway,.
    unless Merino is a direct replacement for one of the senior squad members its bad business imo.

    • @1987simple1987
      @1987simple1987 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Name academy boys you believe are better than Merino???
      This stuff about just throw kids in is so stupid. The gulf between academy and senior is mammoth and unless the players are being picked none of us know how close they are. In ten years time Nwaneri could be playing in the Canadian 3rd division which happens to so many young players. Arteta and his staff work with them for dozens of hours a week but we pretend to know better because we have heard they are good or they scored goals for the u21s.

    • @jc6087
      @jc6087 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-uv9js9yy2x No I don't and I never implied it either. Let me clarify what I meant. Merino is 28 years old and isn't good enough to get in our first XI, that means he's going to be a squad player and only play a handful of games a season, he's going to cost around 20-30million and be on decent wages aswell, the deal could cost us upwards of £50m. I say why spend £50m on an older player, that will barely play, with little to no sell on value when you can take a promising youngster and give them the minutes instead, increasing their experience and therefore their value so even if we don't want them we can sell them to mid-table teams etc for some decent money and it'll be 100% profit because they'll be academy products...

    • @jc6087
      @jc6087 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1987simple1987 Merino don't get in the team, how many games will he start in the Prem? 0. He'll be a bench warmer and injury cover, the only games he'd start would be cup games. We can give all those minutes to Nwaneri instead.
      That's not "throwing a kid in" either, "throwing him in" is putting Nwaneri in the first XI and telling him to get on with it. Merino won't start games, neither will Nwaneri, if Merino is getting the last 20 minutes why not give it to Nwaneri and let him develop instead? There's no point buying 28 year old Merino to be another Elneny.

    • @jc6087
      @jc6087 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-uv9js9yy2x No I'm just good at applying logic, unlike you. Bringing through youngsters is beneficial to the club, they can become first team players or we can sell them on for profit either way we win. Buying someone like Merino is a waste of money, His transfer and wages is a combined £50m+ down the drain. You not being able to understand any of that tells me you must live in poverty because you're not very bright, are you?😅

    Gareth Southgate is a joke, you on the helm would’ve gotten England to the finals with that squad.
    The reason why everyone hates him so much is that France, Spain, Italy, Germany etc. already won mate. When they had their generations and were SUBSTANTIALLY better than everyone else, they took what was rightfully theirs.
    England had the best squad in the entire tournament, and they lost to fucking 16 year olds. Changing players and tactics three times through the tournament, not dropping obviously underperforming or injured players, not having a general idea of how you want to play.
    People are mad because this was the best chance England has had at silverware for decades, and it wasted away on Gareth fucking Southgate.
    Also, there has not been a better England Squad in our lifetime, especially while everyone else’s was so bad at the same time.
    Simple.

    Southgate might be a great guy but he has been horrible managing this squad. You can't compare this group, to that previous "golden generation". Back then, was that squad better than France 98? Brazil 2002? That team back then was never in the talks as the best squad in the world. This current squad however is. When was the last time you could say England had a better squad than Brazil? You're comparing apples to oranges....getting to finals is nothing to be proud of with this squad (in this tourney in reality they were VERY lucky to have not gone out against Slovakia or the Swiss.

    Not sure if you watched and reviewed the copa America game but it was fixed you can see it. Argentine players diving everywhere, Messi coming off, Martinez holding the ball without a card, penalty dismissed by the ref. The ref was deliberately making the decisions yet Argentine win like Manchester city corrupt and no chargers will be made because Messi gets support from Fifa money talks and Colombia got beaten unfairly
    I love Emile Martinez and it was the wrong decision to move him on like schezny. Arsenal have a history getting rid of assets and liabilities for half what there worth. Edu not doing his job
