On street roads like metro manila where the roads are a mix of good condition cement, fair asphalt surface, some potholes, and a few roads that are still dirt with some rocks, the gravel bike especially, with aluminum frame set with a carbon fork and or even better a super light carbon frame set with SL fork would be the better bike of choice for long rides like bike to work or commute and weekend long distance travel rides. It's a hands down choice over a premium mtb bike. It's great at climbing hills because the rear cassette can go up to a 50 tooth gear which will handle as steep a hill in the Philippines and a 700X40c tires will be more than capable handling rough dirt roads or trails. However, the gravel bike is not meant for jumping. The gravel bike is exactly what it is; roads that change to dirt and gravel and back to asphalt or concrete is what it's meant for than a mountain bike basically designed trail roads or no road. The mtb bike is heavier especially, if the frame is steel. Here in California where I live, all the street roads are mostly asphalt, the preferred bike would be a road bike hands down because even a steel road bike is lighter than a steel frame mtb bike and therefore, less tiring to pedal. Mtb bike are mostly used on trails where it's rougher with dirt and rock type trails and with jumping over on the trail road is normal, an mtb bike with full suspension is the preferred bike ride. I don't have a gravel bike for that reason. I have two mtb bikes that never touched a trail road because I don't like driving to a distant location just to ride on trails and around trees whereas, I pull out my Trek carbon bike with carbon wheels out of the garage and I can ride 30-60 miles (60-100kms) beginning from my garage. I considered purchasing a gravel bike with a SL carbon frame but decided not to buy it because I would not have much use for it. But in the Philippines, a light gravel bike, especially, with a carbon frame, would be my choice of bike for riding all the way to Baguio City if the lockdown there is ever removed. So in the Philippines a lightweight gravel bike would be a much better choice of a bike for those who can afford one and I'm sure the more they become more popular and more in demand, the availability and pricing will eventually be more affordable and the prices will come down.

Galing ng review..para sakin recommend ko ang gravel bike para sa mga tao gusto ng bike na pwede gamitin yung bike sa lubak,sa road, pang bike packing, long ride..a bike that can do a little bit of everything...
Here's the reason why I sold my MTB and built a gravel bike (can't keep both, due to wife acceptance factor😉.) I had the realization that most, if not all of my rides on my MTB are on tarmac/paved roads. Logically, I needed a bike that is more efficient on roads than an MTB but still not as aggressive a geometry as a road bike and not as harsh-riding as a road bike. A good compromise is a gravel bike, it's a no-brainer really. Having to ride on dirt roads from time to time is a welcome bonus. 😊
Hello sir, what gravel bike frame po did you use and groupset? I have an hardtail mtb also and its too bulky due to the tiresize and handlebar also hindi nako nagttrails
At the moment, I'm impressed with your value content. At mukang maaddict pa ko sa channel na to thank you thank you!
finally a great video regarding gravel bike sa Pilipinas. using a rigid MTB 26er since 2009, these days pag nasa bike shop tawag na sa bike ko ay gravel bike.
I bought a gravel bike because I want to simplfy my collection, bought 2 wheelset nlng. One is for light trails and one for the road. I dont really do downhills so a gravel bike is enough for me.
Finally! The long wait is over!

Kuya Good day po. Abangan ko po next video niyo. Lahat premise mo base from investigation nakatulong saken haha!
It is simply wrong naming convention done by marketing, it should be all road bike, not gravel bike. Mountain bikes are too much of a bike for paved roads making them really heavy and cumbersome, while road bikes too less of a bike for not necessarily gravel, but rough roads. While CX bikes can also be used as gravel bikes, they are simply road bikes with wider tires built for racing which makes them uncomfortable. Basically a gravel bike is a lightweight commuter/adventure bike built for all roads and long distance travel without you getting fatigued. But then there are touring bikes which are similar to gravel bikes but built are heavier to accommodate carrying 200lbs of load which a gravel bike is not optimized to do.
Dadami din kaming mga ka-unlipaps sir keep up the goodwork! Sana makita kita in person someday!
Thanks for the content.👍👍👍...
In short, di pang pinas ang gravel bike. Great content btw 😊

Fixedgear po bike ko and planning to buy another bike (road/mtb) pero napanood ko tong vlog nyo sir kaya napapaisip din ako sa gravel.hehe
Boss! Keep your mountain bike for trails, lalo't mukhang nagte-technical riding kayo. Ibang discipline mountain biking at di lahat may lakas ng loob gawin yun. Pero gravel bikes will take you farther faster. Check mo then 1x groupsets ng MicroShift, mas mura.
👍 More upload to come paps
Question sana lodi baka magwan mo ng content: I was active in biking in 2010. Then combined with strength ng shimano parts. and it works fine sa akin. my question is would this setup still be applicable if i would upgrade my drivetrains...
Maga-upgrade ako from 27.5 to 29er Mtb dapat.. Hahaha. Rs lodi! Juicy content again like always! =)
Well gravel bikes can be both used in rough and smooth roads advantage for those who wants to travel on both type of roads on a road bike looking bike or especially for those people who likes to go for road cycling option and also there are ways parin kung matatanong ang speed ng gravel well negative side mabagal but wait since there are parts na puwede mapalitan at puwede mapagaan well magiging magandang option talaga ang gravel :D
may plano din ako mag-gravel bike... Thanks for the video para sa nag-iisip mag gravel bike from a mountain biker's view.... mas kumportable din kasi ko talaga sa MTB kasi all-terrain.... new bike vlogger here pa lang po... hope makabisita din kayo mga kapadyak sa baby channel ko... Ride safe at suaveng padyak lang lagi... Cheers!!!
Which are reasons why I stuck with mtb...

Check mo then 1x groupsets ng MicroShift, mas mura. :)
Ang bilis ma sold out nung tshirt! More power po!

Sir bakit walang uphill bike? Gusto ko mag uphill ayoko down hill. Sana mag assemble ka ng uphill bike
Question sana lodi baka magwan mo ng content:
I was active in biking in 2010.
9 spd Shimano DEORE cogs
9 spd Shimano DEORE FD
3 chainring Shimano DEORE crankset
X9 SRAM FD
X5 SRAM Shifters
Then combined with strength ng shimano parts. and it works fine sa akin.
my question is would this setup still be applicable if i would upgrade my drivetrains...
Wag muna bumili ng parts ngayon boss, either walang stocks, old stock, or sobrang overpriced ngayun.
Maga-upgrade ako from 27.5 to 29er Mtb dapat.. Hahaha. Rs lodi! Juicy content again like always! =)
Sir i like the content po kasi my bike is gravel bike ..sabi nila pangit daw bike ko pero now i know the backgrounds ..thank you
Well gravel bikes can be both used in rough and smooth roads advantage for those who wants to travel on both type of roads on a road bike looking bike or especially for those people who likes to go for road cycling option and also there are ways parin kung matatanong ang speed ng gravel well negative side mabagal but wait since there are parts na puwede mapalitan at puwede mapagaan well magiging magandang option talaga ang gravel :D
Excited ako sa part 2 neto hehe more vids sir lodi Sana makabili ng shirt mo lods hehe
may plano din ako mag-gravel bike... Thanks for the video para sa nag-iisip mag gravel bike from a mountain biker's view.... mas kumportable din kasi ko talaga sa MTB kasi all-terrain.... new bike vlogger here pa lang po... hope makabisita din kayo mga kapadyak sa baby channel ko... Ride safe at suaveng padyak lang lagi... Cheers!!!
Which are reasons why I stuck with mtb...
boss what do you do for a living ? im just curios
Pwede yung MTB i convert to gravel. Ganun ginagawa ko now
