I print in blue with the Vallejo Deep Blue spray. Its basically Stegadon Blue, so your rubrics will be a lil bit darker but still cool. And its even faster.

So the conclusion is: get a spray for the basecoat of the blue (or whatever colour you will use), paint everything but the gold, then go with the gold and the wash will do the rest.

Your original vid made me try blue first on my 2nd batch of Rubrics and It is defo faster and cleaner and helped me find my current method. I've an airbrush also now so I can prime black, airbrush on T'sons Blue for a smooth finish then it's just details and trim. However as a fully qualified psychopath I do the trim twice.. Once with Rhinox hide mixed in with my gold, then again with pure gold leaving the recesses.. So it still takes me forever 😅

Sidenote, Retributor spray is not a good primer. You should prime with black and then spray Retributor over that

Retributor armour spray is terrible. You need to shake it way too long, and it covers poorly, while somehow being almost twice as expensive. It is the only spray I have tried that was straight up trash. Do yourself a favor and save your money.
