This remix made me realize why this is the best final boss theme ever. Music is good when it's memorable, and so many final boss themes have too much going on for us to process at once with harmonies, multiple melodies, etc. This song is full of motifs, invoking a sense of conclusion to your journey, but it doesn't overstimulate, and you can tell since it doesn't sound unnatural in 8bit at all like some final battle themes do/would. You could sit down and hum this whole song from beginning to end, which is more than a lot of live-recorded final battle themes can say. Needless to say, awesome remix of an awesome song.
Ender Playsgames Well, have you realized that the plot regarding the Sword of the Brave was never concluded in any way in-game? That and how they reference it in the very last scene of the game, when the Moon is shown and some voices (likely the Planewardens') can be heard. Those voices speak of the Sword of the Brave. Since it is highly likely that this sword will be featured in the next Bravely game, some guys including myself have started calling the next Bravely game "Bravely Sword".
+Chris Jackson yea, I realised that and did my research on the possible name of the next game, and if what I read was credible, the next game may not follow under the bravely title. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.siliconera.com/2015/05/26/the-next-bravely-game-might-be-a-completely-new-title/&ved=0ahUKEwiikMX7oMzNAhVk6YMKHTUZDJUQFggiMAI&usg=AFQjCNHOgzqVJE0dzVelj7Zpz3im0BWAow&sig2=8mQHcMm-Dp5yFli7i-m-Pg
Ender Playsgames As long as they keep the series' incredible job system as turn-based combat to some degree, as well as the high standards for OST, I'm good to go. Having it on a home console in HD would be a nice plus too.
Not in my second playthrough. He easily died the most and in the final phase of Ouroboros, guess who was the only one to ever get hit by Divirgence. Weirdest part is that Ouroboros kept using it on him even though he was already inflicted by it.
You could fit everything in one song by increasing the number of rows per frame (the maximum is 256, so everything could easily fit). You could also track at a slower speed. I made an edited FTM where it all fits into one song. I can link it to you if you want.
Fair enough. Here's the link to my edit. Hope you don't mind the few small changes I made. (I switched out your noise cymbal for a better-sounding one and added a bit of echo here and there, but that's about it.) www.mediafire.com/folder/aeoived8585fj/Serpent_Eating_the_Horizon
*+Ben Sell* I like Mother 3 more than Earthbound, but I was talking about the franchise anyway ... this isn't even Earthbound, this is Mother 1 (or Earthbound beginnings.
This is just amazing. I love how, even with the limitations placed on yourself, you created something so wonderfully loyal to the source material. If I could make a recommendation for the next song in the Brave series to tackle, I would say to try your hand at "Battle Of Anne 1" from Bravely Second. keep up the amazing work!
Believe it or not, I actually like this version better than the original. When I first heard this theme, I knew I would put this game on my list of games to buy. I've yet to do so, but if the game itself is as good as this theme, then it's got to be one of the best games of all time.
I'll comment on this re-upload as well! You did a phenomenal job on one of my favorite songs ever, it gives me the same thrill as the original, impressive! I'd absolutely love if you ever got around to doing Battle of Providence from Bravely Second, that way I can have both of the final boss themes in glorious 8-Bit!
That's some good sounding boop right there. I'm not super well versed in how chiptunes are made, so I don't really know how to put this into the right words, but I love how dynamic the sounds are. Some are flat, some flutter, some crack, some plunk, some slide. I don't know. If someone knows what I'm getting at and has better words for it, I'd appreciate it.
I would reccomand that you get this game the story and characters can be really likable. But the downside is that if you want the true final ending you need to defeat the bosses that guard the crystals 3-4 times. But it's well worth it.
I love the 8bit Lord Ouroborous XD This track is absolutely astounding I can't decide if I enjoy yours or the official 8bit serpent eating the ground piece from the BD Soundtrack more. Yours defiantly wins in power and length, so imma just go with yours for now ;) Keep up the good work
Just gotta say that you are amazing and EXTREMElY underrated! Also, if you don't mind answering, how do you make these songs? Do you look at every single note from the original and then put in its 8-bit counterpart? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I have NEVER made a song before. Anyway, God Bless!
I know this is 6 years later, but do you think and NES sound chip could actually pull this off? Just in case someone was interested in making a demake of Bravely Default
This is actually better than the original, the Bravely Default soundtrack is definitely done in the style of old 8bit FF compositions and this format really brings out the intricacies of the melody in contrast to the orchestral muddle of the 3ds OG
10/10 would eat the ground again
No
Y E S
This fits this boss very well.
Because it's dirt nap time if you aren't prepared.
*He is literally shoveling dirt into his mouth because of how many times he had to use minus strike.*
Imagine this song blasting out of your NES when you enter the boss fight LMAO
😬
So basically the same impact that Pokey Means Business likely had on a lot of unsuspecting players had back in the SNES days
Years later, I'd tell my grandkids this was the first time I got an erection.

I approve of this message
ringabel's bp is -3
we all know why too, MINUS STRIKE SPAM BABY!!!
Filthy Plebians not using the optimal Rage setup...
Ooooorrr SUPER JUMP
bp recovery poison combo, the optimum strat
we all had ringabel as a dark knight right? well, I guess it does make sense even plotwise
Daily reminder that Serpent Eating the Ground is THE best final boss theme ever. Thanks for doing this! Let us patiently wait for Bravely Sword.
what's bravely sword? (If you mean something from bravely second I already know what that is and I have beaten it.)

+Chris Jackson I'd rather have it on a portable because I'm on the move with my headphones alot :P
Rngabl
Clearly, Ringabel has RNGsus on his side and all of his chance based attacks will always work
Dusty Chan just got the joke. gonna refer to ringabell as rngabl
Good choice
Not in my second playthrough. He easily died the most and in the final phase of Ouroboros, guess who was the only one to ever get hit by Divirgence. Weirdest part is that Ouroboros kept using it on him even though he was already inflicted by it.
Except he just used all his BP, and he'll die before he gets a chance to recharge.
I actually had the exact same thing, only ringabell would always seem to succeed in rng things lol, the others failed way more often for me
I found the cap on the number of frames you can have in one famitracker song. Kill me.
How many is that?
+John Frank 120

Shivam Dutt That would be better for downloading purposes, I just didn't want to have to go back and change the number of rows for each frame

I can't lie ... but Earthbound and Bravely Default being put together is just ... have my firstborn.
"You can't grasp the true form of Ouroboros's attack!"
I couldn't agree more, seriously. Two of the greatest RPGs ever.
Der Slendy yep there my 2 favorites well maybe mother 3 and bravely second but close enough right
*+Ben Sell* I like Mother 3 more than Earthbound, but I was talking about the franchise anyway ... this isn't even Earthbound, this is Mother 1 (or Earthbound beginnings.
You lied in the description.
about what?
You said it wasn't perfect.
The level of plot twist in this comment is comparable to that of Bravely Default itself.
lol wow this was a recent reply!
The best bait and switch I've seen in these comments in a while.
Good music is good music regardless of genre.
....actually, if this blasted out of my NES back in the days it would've nearly killed me
Not possible, unfortunately. The NES didn't support the VRC6 chip. It's why Castlevania III sounds so different.
4:38 damn, this part always gives me chills. It’s so damn good. Really love the remix of it into 8 bit.
I didn't search for this but i am glad i clicked

4:30, I uhh... how? that sounds incredibly difficult
Mother 1? I see you are a man of culture as well.
Believe it or not, I actually like this version better than the original. When I first heard this theme, I knew I would put this game on my list of games to buy. I've yet to do so, but if the game itself is as good as this theme, then it's got to be one of the best games of all time.
Yes! Now do Battle with Providence! That would be amazing!

Bravely Bound
Had to reupload this. Sorry everyone!
+AtomicMelodies Are you planning to work on more Bravely Default chiptune remixes? I'd very much like to hear more of this from you.
Same
You're right this isn't perfect.
It's beyond perfect.
this is incredible, you deserve so much more attention!
hey everyone isn't level 99 this person played wrong
Ben Sell They just didn't overlevel..
It's been 0 days since this song made me get emotional

何回聴いても飽きない
I really wish I played this game around the time it released. The soundtrack is phenomenal!
oh my god you are a crazy head! THIS IS BEATIFUL!!!!
Congrats on 500 subs mate ! You deserve them well :) Nice video by the way (I don't know the original song, but I still like your version)
Thanks!
WOW. YES THANK YOU I LOVE THIS!
I am so smitten by this remix. I want to hear this come out of a crt
I'm still debating whether to buy this game but this is an awesome 8-bit cover of my favourite track from Bravely Default!
I would reccomand that you get this game the story and characters can be really likable. But the downside is that if you want the true final ending you need to defeat the bosses that guard the crystals 3-4 times. But it's well worth it.
If you're still debating, I say go for it. Legendary game
ensanesane AND THEN PLAY THE SEQUEL WHICH IS EVEN BETTER!
素晴らしいアレンジです
鳥肌立ちました
You like, earned yourself a big olde medal with this one.
Holy sweet balls. Favorite song from the soundtrack, in 8-bit. Glorious.
This made me your 666th subscriber. Keep up the good work.
I love the 8bit Lord Ouroborous XD
This track is absolutely astounding
I can't decide if I enjoy yours or the official 8bit serpent eating the ground piece from the BD Soundtrack more.
Yours defiantly wins in power and length, so imma just go with yours for now ;)
Keep up the good work
Subscribed!
I absolutely need more of this in my life and Bravely Default on the Switch as soon as possible
Well...
Kudos to you for making this song in 8-bit form and still making it sound amazing like the original.
now the question i have after hearing this masterpiece. are you going to try for any of the bravely second stuff?
This is unbelievably good. I haven't subbed so fast in my life.
Imagine if this song appeared in first final fantasy with the final boss....
It's not perfect? Well...good...this is way too good to be perfect!
This is badass!! Love your work :)
You deserve so many more subscribers. You make the best 8-bit remixes I've ever heard.
Lol mother 1 😂❤️
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Congratulations on 500 subs!
Oh my goodness, I think I like this a little more than the original.
Are you thinking of doing any songs from Bravely Second? I love your remixes X3
I know this is 6 years later, but do you think and NES sound chip could actually pull this off? Just in case someone was interested in making a demake of Bravely Default
My party was in their level 90s when I fought this guy
Pure awesome!
You BD stuff is so damn good
This slaps so fuckin hard! Someone do a mod of Bravely with an 8-bit OST please!
Ouroboros disliked this
This needs more views.
*Serpent devouring the horizon
Ringabel having considerably less Exp. than everyone else is funny, in a weird way.
BubblegumKK Minus Strike spam can lead him to die sometimes
I can't get over how the red gem in his face looks like a clown nose.
Dina the Fossil Fighter
Goddamn it I'll never be able to look at this picture again
And the collar is a clown collar. The spike is a party hat.
Proud.
As amazing as this remix is...
I feel compelled to point out that you misspelled Agnes.
I know
Would be nice if u could add in the description from what game is the music you remixed
Epic *--*
HOLY FUCK THIS IS EPIC
Damn
who is Anges and Rngabl ? X'D
from bravely default
Joke
Head
I get Ringabel's name was too small to fit, but that's no reason to misspell poor Agnès' name
Did the NES support accented letters? Having been born in 1997, and not really caring about the NES, I don't know if it did or not.
The lack of accented letters isn't the problem. The video swapped around the G and N.
Video's Spelling: Anges
Correct Spelling: Agnes
awesome result! GG dude!
Anges. Why not simply Agnes? Great work, anyway.
When have they ever translated names properly in the NES and SNES days?
I was waiting for 4:36
lvl 88 is too low for Ouroboros final battle
It's enough with the right combos.
Gerard Gosuto well... I managed to bet him at that level.
Can you do some Bravely Second songs now? Specifically, Battle of Oblivion.
fucking awesome
A n g e s
You should do a track from the Mother series, like The theme of love (Mother 3) ir Unfounded Revenge
Can you remix Space Invaders- Mercury for Gbc
IN THE RED
anges
Poor ringabel, his name was just too big to fit
This is actually better than the original, the Bravely Default soundtrack is definitely done in the style of old 8bit FF compositions and this format really brings out the intricacies of the melody in contrast to the orchestral muddle of the 3ds OG
...Um... why the pic is in style of Dragon Quest.... no, in style of Mother? Bravewly Default is basically a Final Fantasy.
RINGABEL WHAT DID YOU DO TO GET -3 BP?!? And of course NO MP
There's no story. It would've been amazing in 8 bit too.
Love it.
Extended this music to 1 hour.
Here's the link:
th-cam.com/video/_KVTRfH4opI/w-d-xo.html
Ringabel looking a little screwed in this art
0 MP.
-3 BP.
Level 83.
Ringabel is fucked.
do you have the midi for this?
Pretty sure that famitracker doesn't export to midi. The FTM is in the downloads
Name of the game in the video, if it exists?
Never mind, fuck me, I should have read the title more.
Had you tried to beat this boss at level 88? Haha... Don't try it
i'd just like to say that ive been listening to this song almost every day in the car and I just now threw up a like. My bad.
Thevrex The Sloth lol thanks
5:16
Ringabel is
