Hotel Review
We've been to this 5 star hotel in April and many things changed since preCovid times.
Please watch to the end as in the end I'm explaining why Barcelo Palace is not so good now as before and what are the good and the bad points of the hotel.
It's one of the best hotels in the Dominican Republic but it has changed. rather many things are missing and that made our stay less pleasant than expected.
Hope it will help you to make the right choice.
Hi! My name is Karina. I live and work in the Dominican Republic, in Punta Cana Bavaro zone. I've been to almost all the hotels and excursions here, some of them we visited many times.

I absolutely love this Resort. We Stayed there 5 years ago and were planning to go back 2 years ago but covid hit. The Service was great and the people were great. I'm gonna wait another year till things get back to normal.
Were most things open now? Or is much of it still closed due to Covid?

@Tam My hello. Yes everything appeared to be open. I know the theater was for certain. We only ate at the Buffets and we all felt the food was pretty good. Lot's of choices so you can always find something you like. My 1st time at an all inclusive so I have nothing to compare it to but I was certainly happy.

I just got back. No Entertainment show, No pool side service, Lines for Buffett, No Food theme nights at Buffett, Kid's club closed, etc

Like you said COVID if you are unhappy about things maybe you don’t need to go to places with restrictions to protect their guest.
How is the food in the restaurants? Did you try any of them ?
The food is ok, not the best, but normal. it was better before the quarantine

Thanks so much for the review! I have a quick question: do you know if the water park is open during the week? I’m taking my toddler but we’re only going during the week and the water park is a big deal.
Yes, they both are opened from 10 to 5 if I'm not mistaken. Every day
@@DominicanVlog along with her question is there an additional fee for the pirate 🏴☠️ water park? I had seen another video where they mentioned if you’re not in a premium room you have to pay an additional fee per person.
@@Mars-yd6mv If you stay at a Family Deluxe room, one day stay at the pirate water park is free. Otherwise it's $10 per person. Minature golf is for free.

@@Katizhitaz TREMENDO!!! nos tocó una habitación con dos recámaras, la principal con una cama enorme y la otra con dos camas para mis niñas, el hotel es inmenso y cada 15min pasa un tren que te lleva al lobby de Barceló Palace, Barceló Beach y Barceló Centro de convención, son tres hoteles gigantes en una sola instalación, estábamos bien cerca de las piscinas temáticas para niños, y cerca del bar con bebidas premium, reservamos dos restaurantes y el mejor fue “Hoyo 19” es el más destacado de todos! La pasa manos de maravillas. Observación, no teníamos room service incluido pues no estaba en el precio de oferta que pagamos, la comida del Buffete muy buena y con gran variedad, hasta chicharrón de cerdo 🙆🏻♂️🤣 también disfrutamos de jacuzzi en el balcón de la habitación y la vista preciosa de los dos balcones. LA PASAMOS DE MARAVILLAS!!!
Olvidé agregar que los horarios de los buffet son extendidos, desayuno hasta las 12pm, almuerzo hasta las 5:45pm y la cena hasta las 10:45pm, yo de hartón cené en el restaurante con mi familia a las 7pm y luego a las 10pm cené en el Buffete, el sport club incluido tenía pantalla gigante con asientos reclinables donde pude ver el juego final de las águilas cibaeñas, te digo es el 5to resort de este 2021 y lo catalogó como el mejor de esos que visité

They're not worsted resort , Barcelo is number one resort in Mexico good food, excellent service, and big pool, clean a lot active etc ... come and find out yourself and don't read bad comments and bad mouth on this resort. People's so negative things for everything, come and seeing yourself and believing. Tried to stay Barcelo resort beautiful and clean and staff are very friendly etc.
I've been to Barcelona Cancun and it's a small hotel, normal but not the best certainly. I think all the resort have their good and bad points. The beach if Barcelo here is the best. But the good became worse than before

Not really, it's more a family hotel. There are no parties hotels here, you might try Riu, Breathless, they are better regarding entertainment, but not expect too much

I am currently at the hotel for the next 5 days got here 5 days ago the food is awful I had gone in to this experience with a lower expectations for the food not only did it fall short but it was worse. I do not recommend this place. The guest service is ok… the beach and the pool are ok. Final note, many aspects are not all inclusive so be prepared to not pay or heavily overpay there is no in between
For reference I am very much looking forward to putting a frozen pizza in the oven once I get home. The flood here is seriously not great. They can in a sense “trap you” in many cases it finding the best of the worst here

Spent some time in early July 2021: No poolside service, Lines at Buffett, No theme dinner nights at Buffett (eg. Mexican, Asian, Etc), No nightly entertainment show, and Kids Club closed.
To get drinks at the pool, you must go to the bar and you must wear a mask to order drinks. No mask, no service.
Lunch buffet: Pasta station, pizza, hamburger, fries, salad, fruit, rice, beans, and other local dishes.
Dinner buffet, Pasta station, pizza, salad station, hamburger, fries, salad, fruit, rice beans, dessert, grilled fish, pork, chicken thigh and steak, as well as other local dishes.
We were there in March, nothing changed
