Yea, Krasinski's character definitely needed to be on the bed coughing and sick as he cracked jokes if they wanted that to be his character. It just never felt real like you said.

Yeah it’s a shame as it had potential to be a much better movie.
He had a heart condition though, so coughing and stuff wouldn't have been accurate.
Good review man. I personally really enjoyed the movie. It was mentioned a couple of times that the dad character was getting ready for a minor heart surgery so it makes sense that he wouldn't be bed bound or acting sick. I said in my review that I would hope I'd have his attitude around my son, especially if he'd already lost his mom. Totally get where you're coming from. On to the next my friend 😊

i saw this earlier/Today and i LOVE and LOVED it so much, i understand this wont be people's favorite but this hit the spot and hit the humor and feels for me. And that score is SOO sweet too, youll definitely be hearing me mention how much this got me teary eyed alot.

Yeah very heavy plot points but, trying to still make his character all happy was not the right route. Definitely wish the plot was a stronger one.
Great review man haven't seen the movie yet but been hearing mixed things about it, honestly was not expecting such a heavy emotional element to this especially with the way this movie was marketed, i do want to check it out but i will be keeping an eye out on that 3rd act but i may see it first before deciding if i should get my son to check it out although most movies going over his head at his age anyway lol
Yeah I hear you screening before you show your kid. I use to do the same thing lol. It’s fine to watch once but, not sure if I’ll go back to it.

Great review of this movie. The movie has a rock solid cast of stars. I am sure everyone had a least one imaginary friend or a favorite toy when we were growing up. Oh yea, I see you with the Beetlejuice t-shirt. Someone cannot wait for the movie to come out.
What’s funny is i just saw Beetlejuice for the first time a few months ago. I honestly just bought the shirt because it was cheap at Walmart. I do not like to spend a lot on clothes haha 😆. Though I did like the film when I saw it. I will see the new one.

Yeah many liked Wonka. That movie brought in the money. This one definitely didn’t appeal to the mass audience.

It was charming escapism for the most part. Will do good on home release I'm sure. Appreciate POV 🙌🏾

Sounds good dude. Yeah I mean it’s not bad but, it just needed to be written better.
I too am confused on the marketing and the age rating because if you’re a young kid, I can imagine alot of this going over their heads.
I hope the movie does well at the box office though because it’s a good movie and doesn’t deserve to fail 🙂
As of right now it’s at 82 million on 110 budget. I think the market for movies and the landscape could possibly be changing as I’m hearing Garfield and furiosa isn’t doing very well either.
Good review. I really enjoyed the movie as a family friendly film, but I can understand why you saw it the way you did. It’s definitely not for really young kids. They’ll get bored early on.

I thought it was fine. The most surprising part of the film had to be the emotional elements, which I went in not expecting at all. Liked the cast overall - but it did feel generic at times with its storytelling. Harmless fun - had a decent time.
Yeah it was ok just nothing I’m in a rush to revisit.
Great review even though I personally really liked the film! I get negatives with it especially with the age rating, the movie has a lot more heart than I was expecting though. I’d give the movie 7.5/10.

This definitely is a lot for very young children. I did like it a lot more than you though. I loved the aspect of reconnecting with our inner child, regardless of our age.. Definitely a bittersweet concept.

Awesome review man personally I hated this movie. I found it too upsetting and the humour did not work for me at all, John Krasinski can't do comedy and both his Quiet Place movies are way better than this!

The story had some holes in it. Ryan's character was fully developed and Krasinski was too goofy for me

The trailer didn’t really interest me and based on your review, I definitely won’t see it. I was thinking, though, maybe John Krazinsky’s character was trying to be funny so his daughter wouldn’t worry? I’ve known parents to smile and laugh before a major surgery so their kids won’t worry.
His character overall was very jokey. The script was a little messy but, it was ok to sit through.

It was too predictable for me.
