I was fortunate to visit the cathedral of St James in Santiago de Compostela in Spain in 1989 and was privileged to hug the statue of St. James. A divine experience indeed. St. James pray for all of us

Hi Fr Warner - you are such a natural story teller & loved the way you presented this gospel about St James. The introduction of the characters was so unique yet did not detract from the actual text. Mrs Zebedee's demand for her sons to get the best places beside Jesus & the anger of the Apostles at being beaten at this power game was not the kingdom of servant leadership Jesus envisaged. For He had come not to be served but to serve. Thank you for your beautiful prayer for mothers - we pray so much for our children & always want the best for them. God bless & heal you Fr. 💕👍
We see in today's gospel Mrs Zebedee approaches Jesus and who has an ambition for her sons to get plump positions in the kingdom of God,but realises from Jesus his kingdom is of service like Jesus showed them when He washed the feet of His disciples.This is what Jesus wants us to do.Thanks, Father for your teaching and blessings.God bless.
Dear Fr Warner I love the facile way in which you have woven a story in a contemporary setting, to bring out the ambitious planning of Mrs Zebedee. Yes like all mothers she wanted to secure the best for her children whether on earth or in heaven. Yes she misunderstood the calling of a disciple, but you have brought out so meaningfully in your prayer for all mothers, the true sacrificial love of a mother. You have so well understood the inestimable value of a mother. I'm sure Father, that your dear mother must be so proud of you. God bless her, your father and you too with good health and happiness.
Very interesting the way you put across the scenario of portfolio, position and how differently Jesus' mission and God's kingdom was understood then. But faithfulness of Apostles was great, inspite of Jesus tells them to be servant & slaves. Yes, later, they truly understood and lived their assigned positions and titles, to build Kingdom of God, through sufferings and martyrdom. Surely believe, that they have been rewarded with appropriate positions in true Heavenly Kingdom. Thank you Fr. very interesting and beautifully explained.
