Hats off to your dad he's raised a son that doesn't recognize the word can't an doesn't except excuses, that's one thing you're channel doesn't buy into, it's the real deal, wish the rest of America was like this,, just make sure my milk isn't late or their's gonna be problems, ,just kidding, it's great to see a family that still works the AMERICAN DREAM , hats off to dad 💪🇺🇸
As a soft fingered paper pushing keyboard warrior in STEM, the jaw jacking sermon you give contains copious amounts of truth and technical information. Also, the real life experiences and non-textbook problem solving you, Jarrod, and the crew do would blow an entire floor of cubical lickers minds. Thanks for the video, its nice to watch the job I wish I had.
Soft fingered have you ever been on a farm or lived on one .Yes farming looks easy but sure as hell isn't I use to farm years ago getting up at 5am 7 days a week and it was hard to find good help who cared about cows as much I as did . Today farming has changed so much and the COSTS are very high as long as you keep paying the bank the bank will give you all the money you need .I'm not farming any more the costs were to high thanks
Always moving thanks for the videos. After seeing what happens when a cutting cylinder takes a bite out of a shear bar I agree with you. Oem parts are pretty cheap vs the alternative when things high speed disassemble themselves
Best to use what's designed for the Choppa cheap solutions often turn into expensive problems! Glad the chopping is going well I can imagine the knives grind down quickly with the amount of acres you cover!
I stopped by the "set" the other day and had a good chat with your dad. You were way way off the road at the time and I had ice cream melting in my truck so I couldn't stay long.
Haha the set where all the child actors sit in stationary trucks and the scenery on the green screen passes them by 😂 just another reason fall is the best time of year, takes a little bit longer for your ice cream to melt
What an informative , common sense, approach to a very demanding harvest. You provided cutter blade and shear bar information I don't believe is available in writing. You final diagnosis of an additional dump cart justifies the purchase. Than You.
LOL Andy! I don't think it matters big or small and I've never breaks the shop door same experience here if you get from home the more apt they are to break!
How many acres of corn versus hay do you chop seasonally Andy you are a great source of knowledge about farming in general and everything you do knowledge is priceless
I love all of your videos, but this one really set the tone on how much a small breakdown can cost. After seeing all of the trucks and tractors working with their drivers and realizing that they aren't doing anything during the breakdown, that's a lot of worker hours that someone is paying for with no production. Your videos give us consumers the reasons why food costs what it does.
excellent on CLEANING for knives and shearbar . ever seen the catastrophic damage when not clean and properly set , torqued??? saw one ; 1260 Gehl ..... wiped out the entire cylinder and main frame needed repair .... good training vid , Andy
it's great to get to see family working together and how well kids listen... lol.. you are kinda all over the rows there is that a "cup" holder? or a "can" holder? that's a cool Deer. albino. I never seen one in the wild.. heard of them but never seen one.. must be a sign that your going to continue having a blessed season...
You could absolutely have a machine shop make that shear bar. Problem is it wouldn't be any less money. You need a big surface grinder to make a part that long.
How long does it take to do the switch to corn blades, adjustments, dismantling and whatever else it takes to do that job. It was dark outside when you started and you already had the front opened up. And it sounded like you needed a cup of coffee. Again, learned allot with this post. Thanks and keep them coming.
Wow. They need new bolts because the old bolts have yielded and won't stay tight. Makes sense but I'd never thought/heard it. Wonder what other bolts might do that. Lug nuts?
Thank you sir. How far are you hauling? We used to run to choppers when it was Heartland Dairy. This is about 2000 I believe when Charlie was living with Charlie sharp
i had 2 white colored deer in my meadow-some 6 yrs ago-2 neighbors shot both of them-they was small bucks, they showed up yr??? hadn't seen one before nor since so far. i was tickled to hve seen and watched them for a few yrs. i gave both neighbors heck for shooting them.
He has a full crew of people feeding, checking and working the cows andy does do some of the feeding but thats about all he does for them other people deal with the cows and the milking

Your never to old to learn new things Andy and looks like u learned something new with switching the corn knives I know I learn a lot from u

Saw that Newton RD and new trailer on the road today. It's a nice looking rig. 👌

Reread his post... he's referring to himself as a soft finger cubicle dweller, not Andy.
@@8DeereFarm always somebody who doesn't get it.
@@tomtubman I don’t think you’ve had a whole paragraph. Lol! I’m guilty of the same thing sometimes. Have a good day Mr. Tom. God bless

Always good to see you Andy thanks for taking us along. It's very interesting
Great colour in the video, an overcast sky make all the difference in the world, really enjoyed 😊
Thanks for the ride along, Andy. Great video!
Look like Andrew’s front left fender needs some love. Thanks again Andy for the vids
Whether you make it yourself Andy are you by the next dump trailer Go big big bag

Good Video, as always Andy...many thanks for including us!👍

I seen that you were there
Nice looking corn crop, looks like it will make good silage!
Another great video! Thanks for taking the time to make this video 👍
Thanks Andy for all the videos
Hey Andy !
nice corn !
4 mas trailer it is very good for production and a third dumping cart will be great .
Thanks Andy and have a good day !

Andy is the best.

Nate has come a long way from a couple yrs ago. Good to see
Oh boy I seen the aulick trailer on the Mack that’s a sweet big combo
Great video.i always love the chopping videos.
Awesome video Andy keep the chopping videos hammering out 🤘
it's unreal what it cost to keep the chopper cutting. Its good thing you do the labor yourself or that could brake the bank.Stay safe.
Yes, thank you Andy

About a third
Do y'all ever sleep? Chopping at night. Chopping in the morning. Lol.
That albino deer was really cool.
Thanks Andy
another good video
ARTS WAY?! talk about an OLD name ..... rock on , bro
So cool to see that albino deer. Keep On Truckin!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Chopper looks great in the corn...
Another great video! If this is last Sunday you must have another 500 acres in by now.
Another nice 👌 video
That is so much quieter with the corn knives.
Still amazes me how much material is going into the chopper and the power it takes to chop up into little pieces and blow it into the trucks
its just pouring out of that spout at a hell of rate when in corn . I'm wondering just how many kilograms per second ?
300ton an hour….. over a 150 pounds a second
@@FarmingFixingFabricating holy crap!!!! no wonder you need all that power
Thanks for the video it was good 👍
Hi Andy videos are still great ,thought you might have to call Warren to sort the code out
That’s a cool thumbnail
Never heard of a albino deer before 😂 Brilliant video 💪🏻 🏴
Thats cool would be nice to see that Deer in the wild. Seen alot Deer but never an albino. Nice work Andy and everyone.

I was wondering if you ever jumped deer out of the corn fields , then seeing a white one ,awesome to see 👍
Thanks
Another productive day
Hey Andy. Thanks for the video. You just made my day. Awesome 😎
We've used Astralloy EB-450 in high wear/high impact applications processing metal. I wonder how it would work in the chopper.
Need a third dump cart some day
You could absolutely have a machine shop make that shear bar. Problem is it wouldn't be any less money. You need a big surface grinder to make a part that long.
Like I said you can have someone make one but I won’t
@@FarmingFixingFabricating it's not worth it. You're right just to buy the one you have.
U should get a double dump wagon !!!
Have you ever explored the technology of hard facing the bars and knives, it may be economical feasible??
Both are hard faced now, hi carbon edged. Plain steel wouldn't last an hour.
Did you nit watch the video haha
Nice
Slow down Andy🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

About 6 hours
When I saw the title, I thought maybe Mas brought you some trailers to use so they could get some advertising :)
I don’t seem to get the hand outs
That head looks like a monster. Can you see some one come messing and farmer chase them off. Those teeth could be eye opening !
Wow. They need new bolts because the old bolts have yielded and won't stay tight. Makes sense but I'd never thought/heard it. Wonder what other bolts might do that. Lug nuts?
Lug nuts and wheel studs are a little different
How close till combining do you think
3 weeks before we will be able to get to it
I assume it will not travel. Could you surface grind it true. Still using it again. Bet old knives be skid bar on buckets and the like. Maybe
Have you considered a larger cart ? You have the tractors that could pull it.
Hey Andy , would you ever get a second chopper
Andrew the 24 yr old midget. Haha. Stay safe this harvest.
I thought he just turned 25. :)
@@beckyumphrey2626 your right I forgot.
Can you give us an update on the new barn addition
How long does it take to change out the knives seems like a very monotonous job
5 hours
32:36 was a good view. Too bad we could not have gotten a side view. 👍
Great video as always but I have to admit the highlight has to be the albino deer because they are definitely a rarity
First time for me seeing albino deer
Andy what kind of cb is that in the chopper it’s a nice looks fancy
Thank you sir. How far are you hauling? We used to run to choppers when it was Heartland Dairy. This is about 2000 I believe when Charlie was living with Charlie sharp
18 miles
Is there a difference between corn and hay knives, or it’s just easier to keep a nice set for corn because hay is so abrasive?
They are cupped a little bit on the corn knives I think
Andy we need another tool video
Great show as always thanks, what do the knives cost? wcn
30 some dollars a piece
There is a lot of albino deer in the finger lakes near the government land. Can't remember the name of the instalation of it at the moment
How are crops compared to other years
Average
Andy do you have to sharpen the corn knives like you do the hay knives
Yes
That belt was probably made in ChIner 😂
Can’t you flip it Several times?
No
Whitch one puts more on strain on the chopper the corn or hay I’ve been told the hay is a little harder I was just wondering
hay is tough alfalfa is stemmy, corn chops easy
@@planeiron241 thanks for the info all I’ve ever was corn silage
Corn is easy on the chopper
hi andy from the uk, how many drum hrs do you put on the 8700 in a year.
Around 400
The albino deer is different to see, have you seen any other years? The deer cut into your profits?
No I haven’t seen them before
👍👏👏👏
Is it legal to harvest albinos in N Y ?

Is there a state in The U.S. where that is even legal, let alone ethical?

16-1700
Who’s feeding cows if ur in the shop early ?? Or did u do that earlier ???
