    I wish a really good company who does these types of tunes would take on the Jeep. I had a 1.8L turbo in my old Audi putting down around 350 HP with parts from APR tunning. Like you said, there is not the aftermarket support for engine upgrades, and I think that is because Jeep never had a small turbo gas engine before. Great video.

      The biggest issue with tuning these 2.0s is that jeep put a tiny turbo on it and turned the boost way up (I think stock is around 24-26psi) if they stuck with a normal size turbo it would be more easily tunable to make big power

    I've got a custom intake, GFB Diverter w/ BOV Plate, Custom Hi-Flow Catted Downpipe, and straight pipe exhaust on my 2022 Renegade 1.3L and I definitely feel like it drives better and has less turbo lag. However, the lack of tuning makes it frustrating as I've had it dyno'ed as well before it made 168whp and 199lb/ft which I was surprised about considering the factory rating is 177hp and 210lb/ft. Very little loss or it's just making a little more than the factory suggests. With NO TUNING and just adding the modifications 190hp and 242lb/ft of torque. The torque is a HUGE improvement and we also noticed with the New Diverter and better air flow she made about 3 more lbs of boost than the stock run. These make HUGE boost numbers for the tiny engine. Thanks for this video I'd love to do a 2.0L swap into my Renegade one day.

    That Pulsar XT doesn't seem to be doing anything, 22psi in hotter weather is stock levels for this platform. HP Tuners released support for this platform just recently and I think a custom tune would be the best bet through their calibrations. A side note, the only other tune that seems to work the best aside from a custom HP Tuners tune, is the JB4. Last year my 2 door sport, with factory sized tires, put down 333whp and 470wtq with bolt ons like yours, JB4 tune on a custom map 6 tuned myself and a single port methanol injection setup. I'm now running a dual port meth injection setup, and have since revised the tune, it is quite a bit faster than last year but have yet to dyno it. I'm guessing somewhere in the 350-360whp range. On the Dragy and at a drag strip, I've managed to pull a 13.4@101 before the new setup. So I'm knocking on the door of a 12 second pass. The JB4 and the universal BMS water meth kit is the best money I've ever spent on vehicle mods hands down. I've used JB4 in the past when I was in the VW world so I know my way around the software interface and and how to tune and read logs, and the JB4 never disappoints.

    Piggyback tuners and exhaust/intake aren't going to do much. Turbo cars generally respond well to tuning, but you'll have to get in the tables and raise the boost pressure and tune for high octane fuel.

    • @therubiconian392
      @therubiconian392  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The boost is already at 22lbs, we tried to pull the tables but the tuner we had couldn’t. The Jeep has always run better with 93 octane already. These little 2.0’s are already peaky. But yes actual tuning is better. But the point of the video was to demonstrate what all the promises from all the after market companies amass to be. I’ll do one more tuner and then we’ll do the dyno-tuning. If I can find a tuner willing to do a Jeep. Otherwise we’ll Hemi-Swap the two door.

    I get that this was a bolt on video but plug in “tuners” suck lol they don’t control enough inputs because there’s a lot of variables to make it safe. Last thing they want is to be tagged as a plug tuner that blows your jeep up 😂take it to a real tuner and have someone tune it for real, I bet you’ll get consistent 270-285hp numbers on 37s no problem. Maybe more. Just my two cents that no one asked for 💪🏼😂

    Part of the reason you aren't seeing gains is PCM/TCM torque management. Unless you get an unlocked PCM and do a proper tune with HP Tuners you can't adjust the torque management. Since the piggyback tuner is modifying values to make more power....the PCM senses more power and uses torque management to bring the power back to the stock levels

    Manufacturers put a ton of R&D engineering $ into efficiency. There isn’t a lot of unclaimed HP for aftermarket bolt ons anymore. Times have changed. And if you do modify newer stuff it will come with a trade-off; it will likely be nosier, less reliable, put more wear on parts, void your warranty, etc.

      For that you would need to see an HPI tuner. The new CPU’s require tuning credits. See a reputable tuner about that. You may want to make sure the pulse width of the injectors and valve train are capable of handling higher RPM’s
      They shot for torque more than hp so it may not like spinning faster.

    I work at a jeep store and own a wrangler 4xe. On my 4xe anyways which has the turbo engine. In 2wd it limits power output to help prevent wheel spin. When I go into 4wd auto it creates max power. I wonder it this is what is happening here.
