I so appreciate the fact Dayshawn’s GF and her Mom are also involved with the whole family. I love seeing two families that can come and do things like this together! It’s such a special thing!
I can’t imagine the feeling he got from actually getting the nice things he wanted. You are truly a blessing to these children, idc what anyone says you’re an amazing person Alicia.
I think the feeling of being loved, wanted, and appreciated in a family setting supersedes all the gifts he received for his birthday and at Christmas.
@@probiotic1 oh I’m sure! I just can’t imagine going from what probably was a poverty situation to asking for 500$ shoes and actually getting them. Material things don’t necessarily “matter” but when you’re his age they do. Nice clothes and shoes, and things that are “in style” really do make a difference in a child’s life whether it be confidence or just security. Im positive the love and inclusion feels wonderful….but im so happy he has cool things that other kids have.

Josh does a lloooooot more then the average dad. He’s consistent and present for ALL his children. You must not watch very many videos. Not that my opinion matters at the end of the day we dont know these people and they dont know us but I appreciate that josh still goes to a day job and they’re not getting lost in the tiktok youtube sauce even tho im sure they could if they wanted to!! I assume this parent wants the best for her children, including developing their awareness and empathy for others but what we *see* is football and conspicuous consumption. Apart from that, pragmatically, the house would be bursting with STUFF if there isn't a planned outflow.
The sneakers alone were gift enough. As someone commented. People who are used to having money are more frugal. We live comfortably. I reuse gift bags and reuse anything I am able to save money. I know that tomorrow I could wake up and itt can all be gone. Our kids were spoiled. But, not to excess. Now we do the same for the grandkids. Teach them that just because you want it. Doesn’t mean you will get it. Spending time and loving them and doing simple things will be remembered Then what they got for their birthday at age 13. My kids when talking about growing up always go to the fun times not the material items.

I always say that too. The food she buys is full of sugar high fructose corn syrup sodium and saturated fats. Kids who have behavioral issues and such are supposed to eat diets low in sugar and preservatives. There are a lot of healthy alternatives to choose from

My daughter’s birthday is October 9th and she picked “cutesy spooky” theme and it was so much fun to plan!! She picked the colors bubblegum pink and black, with sparkly bats and ghosts lol
I got her a cute black birthday shirt that said “Birthday Ghoul” and she wanted to wear all black so she wore a black tutu with her shirt knotted to the side and black pom pom hair ties with space buns. Funnest party I’ve planned out of all 7 of her parties she’s had!

My only question is this? If you buy them this much at birthday's what are you going to get them for Christmas? Why not teach them the responsibility of earning the things they want? You are only teaching them that life is about money, only. What happens when his parents get him back and can't afford as much as you do with him? That's setting them up for disappointment. As a medical professional I'm telling you, you think you are helping these kids but money doesn't buy affection. How about putting the camera down and taking in the moments with them, a hug is worth more than Nike Retro Oreos and apple watches. Teach them the value of a dollar, and to appreciate the things they have because by the looks of it they are expecting and not appreciating.

First off, no one is perfect. Second, she’s giving them unforgettable birthdays as well, not just gifts. She praises them and builds their self esteem and confidence. Idk if you watch her videos regularly but all her kids are very helpful and respectful. They all have chores and discipline. From someone who has watched her channel awhile I don’t see Deshawn being unappreciative towards his biological family if they can’t provide as much, considering he’s lived with them his whole life until now. Idk the details but I’m sure he loves them all the same and doesn’t base his love off who gives the better gifts. If you think it’s only about gifts then you’re the problem not her. She doesn’t “spoil” them like this everyday, I’m sure there are boundaries and limits that we don’t see. Everyday she makes sure they have the best day and THEY feel appreciated. If she’s able, there’s nothing wrong with her giving them grand birthdays. It’s once a year and gifts just come along with it. When they go back to their parents they aren’t going to know what to do when they don’t get what they want all the time. The concern is the children won’t want to work for anything, society is full of spoiled teens and children. One day Alicia is going to be able to do it and then what? So we see the same gift bag over and over until they fall apart. Even then we use them in craft protects. So much waste happening in these videos.
