It’s always so wild to me how many people will comment on games like this “oh just another stardew valley knockoff 😡😡” when stardew itself was so heavily inspired by Harvest Moon before it. They are all different fun games within the same genre! Let’s all enjoy that! More games, yay!
Never heard anyone saying a shooting game being a knockoff of another shooting game!
It's because many people's first experience of a farm sim was probably stardew valley so they can't compare it to something they don't know...
@@bortisimathey do (ie team fortress 2 fans always say overwatch is the same as their game) but regardless people need to stop comparing games and just allow these games to thrive!
Yeah you never see people watching a movie like "God this is such a knock off of ___" or look at similar products in a store like shampoos and say it's a knock off of another product.. it's really only in gaming that people do this. These cozy, farm simulator, etc types of games are exactly that.. a type of game or a genre. Just because it's similar doesn't mean it's a "knock off" unless it's clearly like 1:1 copy/paste. I will say there's definitely A LOT of similarities with like how the field is, how you hold items out in front of you, etc. But that's again been a thing since Harvest Moon and that goes all the way back to the SNES.. Like if you're really into Stardew Valley and you see other games as less than good for you, you can keep playing Stardew Valley, but that doesn't mean that's how everyone else should see it. This is also why I don't trust random public reviews on anything as well. So many reviews on places like Steam are basically just someone whining that it doesn't have this or that or isn't a completely different genre..
@@taeomo it's like webcomics 😢 I've read so many that are so similar, especially the main character getting hit by a truck, dying and being reborn in a book or game. It's such a common isekai segue that you tend to see comments like "truck-kun takes another victim" 😅 but I have lived just about every single one I've read cuz they're all just a little different from each other, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it
How can something be a stardew knockoff when stardew itself is a knockoff 🥴🥴.
But really, nothing is copying anything. It’s a genre. Fishing, farming, caving, they all have it. If anything, coral island stands out a lot from the rest because of the whole ocean storyline and gameplay.
If you go off of the whole ‘copy’ thing, then GTA is a knockoff of mariokart because they’re both racing games.
Yeah it's bugging me when people said that and in early version of SV is totally copying of SNES Harvest Moon but those people just pretend not to hear it

I used to watch Lilsimsie all the time, but after a while I kind of drifted off from it, and kept on wondering if she was going to play Coral Island again because she was who I found it through. So glad you did! Can't wait to watch the video when I get a chance 💜

I enjoy all kinds of games. Currently my top 4 most played games are Sims4, Fortnite, Dead by daylight, and red dead 2 online
Looks really cute, so much better than stardew valley, I prefer playing with characters that look like people. I will be waiting for the switch version, I like playing my games on my big TV.

The funny thing is that we somehow made the exact SAME character in Coral island, same hair, same hair colour, same eyes, same eye colour. Only my eyebrows are different same with the clothes.

the fact that this isn't on switch or iOS or Mac is annoying af.... like its such a simple game there's no reason it can't be released on all of those platforms. I don't want to confine this kind of game to my ps5...
It's going to release on switch in 2024 and it's not a very simple game, it's pretty huge. 1 year in coral island took me 129 hours. There's so many items and characters and things to do. More than stardew valley from what i've seen so far.
You want it on Switch where, like Simsie says, it'll perform horribly. You want it on iOS? This massive game? You also want it on the massively inferior Mac..? I swear the only people I ever see talking about Mac are the ones that complain something doesn't work on it.. You sound like an entitled child.
@@Eventide215 … this is a very simple game. I’ve played 100hrs. It’s not “massive” by any means… an m1 Mac especially would handle this game so easily 😂

Doesn't work on Xbox. The 1.0 release is outright broken, and many quests are labeled "WIP." Please be honest with these reviews.

Maybe listen to what she says, because she has stated several times she plays on pc
If she doesn't play it on xbox why would she mention it? Also it's not like she's getting paid to make this review. She actually likes it. I play on pc and I haven't seen any bugs since 1.0 release and my quests aren't titled WIP. The only really annoying thing for me is the fact that they say 'thanks' after you complete a side quest.
