Buy 53 and then they’ll be 52 once they’re worn in. Also….. Skate Autobahn!!!! Def gonna go with this deck size again. I do recall 8.5 was a bit much back in the day, and I think this size was the best. It’s literally the best size. Especially with 8.5 trucks! 🔥

I always go back and forth between 8.38 and 8.5, can never settle lol. Def good strategy for the wheels 👍🏻- especially if you skate a lot of crust.

I've had that wheel stopping problem with brand new indy's. I couldn't really tell if the axle was a little thicker or the bearings were tight on that one wheel. but after riding and popping it ended up rolling easily.

Thanks for this- I’m having a similar experience as when I’m skating they feel fine and actually quite fast.

What deck brand do you recommend for beginners

Hey my g- I’m going to be honest- since so much of it depends on preference, I would honestly just get a brand or graphic you really like- that way you will more likely be excited to skate it. Any main brand deck company has its pros and cons- but most of them are solid and will perform reasonably.
My real question would be more of your height/weight so you get the right size, but if I had to chose one I’d say an 8.0 or really an 8.25 is probably the ideal size for a beginner. You have enough stability but the board is nice and light. Hope that helps!

How did the griptape feel? I recently tried going back to DKL grip. Not doing that again. That was as slippery as the slope leading into the nine hells.

Lol! I just can’t bring myself to try DKL- maybe if the majority of pros switched over I’d have to give in!
So far I’m not loving the grip :/ . It’s kind of like mob m-80 but the tiniest bit more grippy- like a flattened out Grizzly grip almost. I’ll do a full review but I’m def going back the SJ for the next deck!

@@Skatebetter I don’t care too much about the grip tape but I’m not going to use the one I’m currently on again. It’s called Roam and came with one of my boards. It’s got almost chunky like grip and it just feels weird. As for DKL I really liked it but since getting back on sandpaper I just can’t seem to find a reason to go back.
Going to try Shake Junt at some point. I really like the top graphic.

@@RikRiorik interesting! I looked into Roam and it looks like it’s made by Jessup i think? I know a lot of people dislike or hate on jessup- I’ve always been curious as it was around when I was younger but maybe I’ll pass on it I suppose lol.

@@Skatebetter Normal Jessup is fine though but the Roam (which I think they do make, yes) is different. It’s all small differences but I’m not a big fan.
