      Judge: Yes.
      Me: Well since we're having a trial to prove I'm guilty I haven't been proven guilty yet. Therefore I'm innocent and there's no need for a trial.

    My teacher once saved a couple from ruin. He represented an elderly couple who had bought a castle but were having trouble paying the rest of the mortgage due to mrs' temporarily stopping working as a tour guide (illness) and mr making less as a fellow tour guide cause he had to take care of her and had less clients due to post 2008 crash. Bank: we'll take the castle. Old man: I declare bankruptcy. Bank: you can't. My teacher: old man, do you have a business? Old man: yes. My teacher: is the castle part of the tours? Old man: yes. My teacher: do you own it? Old man: yes. My teacher: as per French law my client's small business' corporate assets and debts and my client's private assets and debts are one and the same. My client declare bankruptcy as a business. The court accepted the elderly couple's case, ruled in their favou and spread out the rest of the debt over ten more years. Castle was never seized or sold.

    I was in court and an 18 year old was in front of the judge for a probation violation. His probation was violated because he didn't get a job. The judge asked, "Why didn't you get a job?" The kid looks straight at the judge with a straight face and said, "I've been fishing, your honor." The whole courtroom, including the judge, erupted into laughter. The judge gave him a second chance to complete his probation.

    3rd story:
    Victimizing the Sex offenders and saying it's the women's fault for dressing that way or being in places like that means they are clearly asking for this makes my blood boil!
    This also portrays men like any chance they get, they can't restrain themselves.

    • @CaTastrophy427
      @CaTastrophy427 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      I've had the argument turned the other way around too, where women only dress that way if they want sex and don't care who it's with. I've also had a response to that:
      "I'm dressed like this out of necessity, since it's damn near impossible to find something that fits and doesn't show a lot of skin, given my body's shape (I'm really short and have two melons, each a good amount larger than my head. My boobs started growing, and growing rapidly at that, when I was 6). I've been doing so since I was 8 or 9, for the same reason. Now, you tell me that that means I was asking for sex, and I'll tell you that I didn't know the first thing about sex back then. You tell me I'm asking for guys to shove their dicks into my body, and I'll tell you that I've got a girlfriend, dicks not included, no dicks required. So you can take your 'asking for it' arguments and shove them up your ass, since your attitude is what's really screaming your desire out to the world, like a billboard plastered with the words 'I want to have multiple strangers put phallic objects into several of my bodily orifices at once'. My clothing does not. My clothing says 'I'm having trouble dealing with a pair of overgrown body parts' and should not be taken to mean anything else. I'd say fuck you, but I want to stay the hell away from your twisted ideas of all topics related to sex and sexual desire"

      There honestly should be a law that using that defense in a sexual assault case of any form is equivalent to admitting fault, and proves a distinct lack of self-control in the person, making them unfit to enter society after release.

    • @chanterelle483
      @chanterelle483 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I also think that use of this line is very stupid. It's basically saying that men have self-control of a common dog. If this had been true, the logical thing to do would have been to only allow men in public on a leash and preventively sterilise those who are seen as unfit to reproduce.
      (Btw. I am not saying that this should be done in reality, because in reality, men can control themselves, obviously.)

    When researching my family history, I came across a rather amusing argument made by my ancestor when charged with bootlegging during prohibition (hired a very good lawyer in the area, one of the best who was ironically one of the most fervent drys in the community). The case against him was based on his sale of alcohol to an investigator. His defense was that he had specifically instructed the person who turned out to be an investigator that the alcohol was for medicinal uses only, but the investigator stole it anyway. Wasn't even a mistrial, he was found not guilty with that defense XD

He admitted that he was guilty but was suing the police department because they "should have been arresting bad criminals instead of him". I poisoned a whole jury pool. Woman had rented a house, with a slight rise to the front yard and ONE step in the sidewalk about halfways to the house. She had lived there for eight months, and tripped on the step. She was sitting there with a neck brace collar, and the attorneys were auditioning for 12 jurors and 12 alternates. I was #29 of the first 30 sent up. They went on and on, most that were excused stated they thought the case was stupid, and finally, had 11 seated, no alternates yet. I sat down in the 12th chair to be interviewed. I actually had a legit excuse so I had asked to be excused on my form turned into the judge. He read that statement, then looked at me and asked me if I could be objective if seated. I said no, I'd been watching her, I've worn one of those collars for 12 weeks, she didn't need the collar. I got dismissed, the attorneys looked between disgusted and wanting to strangle me and the remaining people followed me down. I got to leave. They had to start over... I doubt they got their choices done that day.

    WARNING: NOPE OUT NOW, because near the end, there is a tragic, sick, awful, story that does not belong in a compilation of amusing arguments.

    I think the m cook was thinking about his wife (and possibly kids). He knew the best possible outcome was to be grateful for what he had and just suck it up then hope to serve only half sentence via good behaviour.

    I've seen dogs euthanized at the vet, and shot by a farmer. Shoot the dog if you love it. It never knows what happened. The dog is terrified at the vet, shaking, whimpering and they don't die instantaneously. Seriously, euthanasia should be considered more cruel than a bullet

      not always true. a dog we had was losing her memories and not really knowing who anyone was. she was always docile by nature, so she wasnt difficult, but the pain she was feeling every night was sad. We held her until the moment the poison kicked in. they put her to sleep first and then used the poison.

    I'm just curious why the time stamps in your video say hours ago, but all the comments are over 2 years old on reddit?? I needed to understand the first comments better, so I searched reddit for this post only to find it to be 2 years old and cherry picked already from another channel.. I really don't care about your hustle on the videos, I just want to know why you would go through the hassle of editing dates??

      Mr Oooo Weee I'm confused - the comments look to me to all have recent time stamps as well.

    A guy asked the prosecutor was this law broke a state law or federal prosecutor said state. He said does that law apply 2 me specifically cuz I'm physically in the state. The prosecutor said yes the defendant set object your honor. I would like to see the evidence that the prosecutor relies upon that my physical location and only my physical location mean the laws of the state apply to me specifically. The prosecutor said it's the law. The defendants sad objection that's only an argument please present evidence. So the prosecutor thought about it and said the Constitution. He objected again saying it's only an instrument and he never signed it. How could it apply to me. Where is your evidence. The prosecutor thought about it and said I believe it was jrw law says the Constitution applies to you. The defendant said objection circular argument he's saying the law applies to me because the Constitution says it does he send the Constitution applies to me cuz the loss is it does that's only an argument there's no evidence I make a motion to dismiss this case for lack of jurisdiction. And he won. The case was dismissed for lack of personal and territorial jurisdiction. Check out Mark Stevens the no state project there's hundreds of these
