This is a great video. Many thanks for making it. However, I have a BX700UI and, when I took the back off, there was no removeable battery ! They must have changed the design mid-way through production.
Thanks for the comment, can I just make sure that you took the front panel off and not the back where things plug in. The battery is accessible through the front of the UPS where the power \ indicator light is. As far as I am aware they had not changed the design. But just to add the BX700UI is now discontinued.
@@HlspwnsWorld My apologies ! You are absolutely correct. I DID take the back panel off rather than the front panel and, when I took the front panel off as you describe in your video, the battery was there just as you showed in your video. Thanks once again !
@@Chameleonbreeder No need to apologise. Based off your experience, I would ask people to be very careful. I imagine taking the back off exposes the internal power supply and power cables.
You would have to refer back to the manual to know what the alarm means. I think it’s possible to silence an alarm after triggering. But should it be triggered again the alarm would be audible. What I did was connect the ups to a pc via the usb cable, then installed power chute and in the settings disabled audible alarms. Once again the manual is your friend as you will need to learn what the flashing lights mean if you turn the alarm sounds off.
That can happen, how old was the UPS? Was it a cheap battery? The thing is these smaller units are not that expensive. If it will not work, buy a new one. For anyone reading this the model shown in the video is now EOL.
Very helpful. Thanks.
You're welcome!

Occasionally, I receive sound alarms. How can I acknowledge and silence them?

I just went for the APC battery too, not worth getting cheap batteries when they are going to last 2+ years.
Sorry I did not get alerted to your comment. I totally agree with you 👍🏻
I just opened the one at work after it failed yesterday, the battery exploded and the unit isn't even powering on anymore.

How does Powerchute handle NAS shutdown?
It doesn’t, that setting is handled directly by the NAS OS. You need powerchute to set the UPS up before connecting to the NAS.
what a boring video...
Thanks 🤭
