The fact Pope is actually a surgeon when he says Kerr could be back in 10 days rather than the 6 week timeframe, I gotta take Pope's word for it he knows his stuff!
May not be the prettiest game of the season but the end result was a win and we'll gladly take it. When your down your two point guards that get most all of those minutes its tough to overcome. Just thankful for the the guys fighting and pulling out a win. Hopefully well have Butler back Saturday and Kriisa in a month or so when he's hopefully healed up. Go Cats!!!
I think what he means regarding 30 threes, is that he wants them taking 30 "good" threes, not just jacking up 30 threes to get to that number. 30 good threes, like he mentioned, shows that they are doing things right to get good shots.
“Energy” is the absolute easiest part in sports. Anyone can do it. Talent is all the matters. Talent wins. And when talent faces another Talent it’s a fair game. The rest is poetry in a fantasy world.
Kentucky definitely missed Butler, and Colgate is uniquely built as a mid-major to play pretty well against us because they use so many similar principles both offensively and defensively. They understand. In some ways, they're like a less-talented version of us, but with more experience in this kind of system.
Coach, please teach the big's a sky hook. Or stop their push to the basket at one foot and just dunk it. Missing two foot shots because they are undecided what type of shot to shoot won't work in the SEC. I sat thirty feet from the basket and the missed shots looked like they were trying to guide the ball into the hoop. They need to be more aggressive around the basket. GO BLUE!
Amari is getting a little better, but when he (and the other bigs) embrace physical finishes instead of avoiding contact in the paint, they will be more dangerous.
Trap game. Going to be a let down after huge Gonzaga win, and before Louisville. Don't under play the loss of Lamont Butler. Colgate scores 10-20 less if he is in the game. And coach PLEASE bench Garrison for selfish play. He's a black hole. If he gets the ball 10 feet from the rim, it's NEVER coming out. He was TRIPLE teamed, "looked to pass", made EYE CONTACT with Brea in the corner with no one within 15 of him, and what did he do? Fade away under handed scoop shot air ball while triple teamed. That's a reason to be BENCHED. This isn't about you. This is about winning, and you literally chose not to give the best shooter in the country a wide open three? Inexcusable.
Dude, he's not reading TH-cam comments on his post game news conference. Garrison is doing fine. He had 10/9 against the Zags. Pope has said that he will let guys play thru mistakes. Inexcusable? Lol. Calm down, this is basketball. You act like he's the first player to take a bad shot.
@@claywhisman9721 Clearly you are not a student of the game. Pay attention going forward. When he gets the ball within ten feet, NO ONE is getting the ball no matter how many people are guarding him. And Brea agrees with me, because as they were going back on D, he was calling to Garrison and shrugging his shoulders basically saying WTF dude. Tell me how it's not inexcusable. BEST shooter in the country WIDE open and 5/6 in the game, you SEE him, have a CLEAR path to pass it to him, you are triple teamed, and your thought process is, "I need to get mine". Yes, it was a bad shot. Even worse it was a selfish shot with a MUCH better option that he turned down. That is inexcusable, but you must be generation excuses where no one should be held accountable.
@@Syrin23egregious. You need to be held accountable for your terrible takes. If only we could be such students of the game. Clearly you don’t know what a true ball hog looks like. Garrison wasn’t finishing was the bigger issue. Shot selection on this team is A+. Off night for everyone. You are bitching about a 10-1 team ranked 5th in the country.
@@dandybranding4709 You need to be held accountable for intellectual immaturity. If you think CONSISTENTLY selfish post play is a good thing, then again, you are even dumber than your posts already suggest.
All these Kentucky homers wanting Perry to play need to look at his stats. he has been absolutely horrible. For a supposedly great shooter, he has missed pretty much every wide open shot he has had.
@@popcornjoe3752 On the season. 32 minutes played. Shooting 17% and 14% from three. He's terrible. He may become a real deal, but right now he's really bad
@@popcornjoe3752he can be good eventually but it couldn’t be more clear that he isn’t ready to play right now. SEC guards would absolutely eat him alive. UK fans need to just let it go for awhile and stop worrying about him playing right away, he’s 18 years old and he’s not Reed Sheppard Trent I think can play some minutes and compete because he’s just bigger than Travis and is slightly better on defense, not to mention has actually hit a shot or two.
The new cats are losing energy. They're bored, slow to 50/50 balls, easily pushed around beneath the basket, speeding up their shots, not focused, has free throw issues, sloppy passing, poor ball handling... ...they're NOT going to anybodies final four playing like this. Maybe the Pope has given them too much free style?
They've won their conference tournament championship 4 years in a row which means they have made the tourney 4 years in a row. They are conference champions. That's what he's referring to. Do you think he's going to ever walk into a press conference and dog the other team?
@claywhisman9721 They don't have a great record right now because they play a killer nonconference schedule then dominate their league. Give them some credit.
“We’re in the conversation nationally…that’s Kentucky”.

I have been thinking the same thing. They get to four feet from the rim. Should be an easy bucket, especially for Amari with his size and athleticism
Amari is getting a little better, but when he (and the other bigs) embrace physical finishes instead of avoiding contact in the paint, they will be more dangerous.

I hope there is no weird energy against Louisville.
