Optical Technology Program at Tri-C

Dispensing opticians are those professionals who fit eyeglasses or contact lenses as prescribed by an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist. These professionals analyze prescriptions along with the patient's occupation and habits in order to make recommendations about lenses and frames. Licensed opticians may work in retail, laboratory, or private practice settings. Upon successful completion of the program at Cuyahoga Community College, the student is eligible to take an exam to qualify for national certification and licensure within the State of Ohio.
