Hello Kim I am in zone 7 Long Island NY and this will be my first time winter sowing I’m going to wait a few weeks just wanted to say I love your videos and from watching them I’m learning so much so thank you so much. 😊
Hi Kim, I love your videos and your positive enthusiasm. Here in the south of Germany (Zone 6b) winter sowing is practically unknown, but thanks to you I'm trying it for the first time and am really looking forward to any success. Please keep it up. 🌺
I'm a planner but leave room for emotional plants too 😊. I got a new raised garden bed that is large enough for corn so I may grow this year. Fresh tomatoes and corn mean summer to me !
Just found your channel. Looks very interesting. We are in Zone 6B/7 in SW Missouri. My most favorite things to grow are garlic, potatoes, sweet potatoes. They are easy to grow & plant and I like the "suspense" of you never know what's hiding under the ground! We also grow, what seems like, tons of tomatoes as we can our own tomato juice, and I male and can salsa, tomato sauce, marinated tomatoes, etc. The newest thing I've grown is the yard long noodle beans. I love the delicate flavor. I've also gotten into growing various herbs and plants for medicinal use such as red clover and mullein which actually grow wild here. We have a small 8x12 greenhouse and I've saved a few of my planting such as petunias, impatience and Lantana. It's nice to see flowers blooming in there in the winter time. Now I wish I had gotten a bigger greenhouse!
Glad to see you back. The garlic is a great gift! We planted ours in October ( North GA 7b/8a), so you might want to get yours in the ground asap. I’m going to start winter sowing tomorrow!
Hi Kim and happy new year. I'm in western Colorado and will start 31 jugs of seeds here in the next couple of weeks for my fairly new cottage garden. Also, planting a few veggies in there, as well. My birthday is also in January 😊 although I am abit older than you. I appreciate your videos, your smiling face and optimistic attitude. Thank you and God bless you!
Hi Kim🌺 . I miss you working in your garden . I have a lot of projects in my garden we made a stone wall and I planted 20 trees near it and also yesterday I planted cedar and Italian sypress and lemon sypress and I will plants more plants . I wish you a happy new year . 🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄
Hey my friend. Your plantings sound amazing and tiring too. What beautiful trees you have planted. I miss working in my garden but for now I’m going to be grateful to still have the ability to go back to it.
Hello Kim. Good to see your face again. My goal this coming year is having lots of flowers for the honey bees, lots of veggies. This will be my first year to try Winter Sowing. I have seeds and jugs ready..♥️
I just planted my first 4 winter sowing containers yesterday. I just couldn't wait any longer to get started. I'm not a real planner either but I'm trying to get a little better at it. My biggest goal this year is to continue to make my soil better.
Yes I'm a planner because I'm also a bookkeeper, organized. I wish I was more of a gypsy! 😎I dream of watermelons but not enough space like your big yard. Zone 10b.
Hey Lady! I am about to start my 3rd winter-sow (thanks to you). I was going to shout you out and put an APB out on you! Haven't seen that smile in a while! 😅 I'm not a planner as well! I love the excitement of seeing new plants pop up and how they grow. My spaces don't always come out "perfect" but I don't mind that. Growing petunias for the first time, and more lavender. I like the challenge of lavender! Thanks for sharing!
i am going to try my luck with holly hocks. i love them so much but, have not had luck with growing them. maybe 2025 will be the year. lol. thank you for sharing all your great ideas with us. hope you have a great day! glad to see your back.
Hollyhock have been an issue for me as well. I found that they get rust really bad. I did find out that there is a rust resistant one that I want to order this year. What seems to be the issue with growing them where you are? Thank you so much for doing this with me and I am excited for this to be our year.
We do our winter sowing in August, september so they can over winter in the ground. I just started some poppies, Lupin, Delphinium and Holly Hocks in milk jugs this week hope it works. I did all of my Petunias and Lisianthus that are under grow lights. Once I see you start your seeds I will be doing more because its so addictive. Can’t wait!!!!!
Hi Kim,.love watching your channel. I just planted some of my winter sowing flower seeds. This is my 3rd year and I love it more each year. With your help I'm learning more too. I started varieties of poppies, yarrows, echinaceas,, gaillardia , and ammi. Some more later this week. So excited I won 4 new zinnia seed varieties from Johnnys, but need to wait til warmer. weather for them. This will be first year starting seeds indoors with grow lights. See how that works. Have a nice day. Happy New Year 🎉
Too excited to wait! The first year winter sowing i started January 1st. I knew nothing. Planted everything. These are some that did really well so I figured I'd continue. I got bit by the gardening bug and its gotten worse. Wish I discovered my passion earlier. I'll be 70 years old soon. Happy gardening!
I’ve been doing great! I’ve been doing lots of seed buying, seed sowing, and planning where to put them. I’m horrible at following-through with planning 😂 I have good intentions every year, but……….🤪 OMG, so fun you got recognized 🥳 It’s good to see your face 🥰
Love your videos so much.. you helped me fall in love with winter sowing last winter! I’m in Morganton NC, 7b.. if you ever host live events down the road I’ll be there! Goal is to try sowing new things this year like foxglove and swamp milkweed (2 of many!).. also to be a better planner! Tried garlic for the first time last year and loved it.. German hardneck from Sow True Seed in Asheville.. this year we added a soft neck variety from baker creek which apparently does even better in our southern gardens (I’m learning!) Thanks for your inspiration and enthusiasm.. loved starting my Monday to this happy video! Thank you Kim!🤗 🌺

I didn’t clear my garden for the 1st time this year as well. I sowed 58 milk jugs this weekend. A lot of natives. I had so much fun.
Good Morning, I have never did seed starting, but I want to try this year.
I just want all the pollinators and birds and butterflies in my garden! So basically I'm planning all the flowers🩷🌸

Yay! It’s almost time for winter sowing. Thanks for all your advice. I feel like we are kindred spirits when it comes to plants and gardening.
It’s a great idea for nature, including insects which then feeds the birds. We don’t mow until June for the same reason.
I want to Winter sow… Fever Few, Canna Lily, Black Eyed Susan, Blanket flowers,Sweet Williams, and so many more. Happy gardening, and HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎈
Do you have a video showing us what to do once you’re ready to get them out of the winter sow container? Thank you!!
I do in my winter sowing past videos.
I want to plant everything 😂
