Sikh got killed in the partition, we lost our lands because of bad leadership and trusting the people who our gurus said are blind. Trusted india got a genocide because of that. Hindu and Sikh were not closer Sikh and Muslim have been close in the history of Punjab. it was pushed into the minds of many people by politicians. It is a well researched, based on facts and well presented report. I have not watched this sort of comprehensive report before. We share language, living style and values with Sikhs. It would have been better for both communities if remained united. We Punjabis might have not suffered what we went through a traumatic situation during the partition of 1947.😢.
Whatever happened we can't reverse but we all can work hard to live like good neighbours and good brothers. Pakistani Punjabis respect Sikh community a lot in spite of the incidents of 1947. I hope it is not misunderstood as against any community or in favour of any other so I will find better words to describe a saying that was very common in per-partition India that "Hindus always plan far ahead for a pending stormy issue, Muslims react when the storm is on the head and Sikhs think about it when the storm is over".

I think the best option for Sikhs was a separate state at the time of partition... They could protect their identity history and geography. In my vlg there were many Sikhs shelterd and protected during riots and handed over safely to military in 1947.
This option was not given by Britishers to sikhs because there population was less and scattered all over Punjab. Only option was Either join India Or Pakistan.
