I’ve been thinking about investing in IPL, but have had so many doubts after seeing mixed reviews. You’re one of the few Influencers I trust to give an honest review, so I’ll be ordering soon. Thank you Smitha!! 💛💛
I purchased this! My recommendation is do not purchase it! I’ve been using it for almost 6 months every other day. It takes about 1.5hrs out of my day to do my whole body and after 6 months the hair growth is almost the same. The difference is hardly noticeable. My hair still grows back thick and dark within a day or two. You would think that after this long, you could see a bigger difference. At this point I would advise to not waste your money and time on this and just get it done professionally.
I'm on my 7th week, 3 times a week still. I think it has made some hairs finer but they are still dark and noticeable. I've taken close up photos and none of the dark hair follicles have disappeared. As you said it takes many hours almost every other day, so it is frustrating to not see the results claimed. I have pale skin, dark hair, and still have it. I couldn't afford professional treatments. I also use the highest level and make at least 3 passes each treatment day.😢
So, here's what I did to get my results. I would leave it in one place for 4 light blasts and would pass by 2-3 times. I know that's not what the directions say, but I could smell the hair follicles being decimated. Cheers.
I have not tried. Just like you, I was skeptical and afraid to use. I have seen commercials, but not anyone I knew was using it. Thank you so much for sharing this video. ❤️
Interesting - I'm saving up for an IPL because my facial hair has been in overdrive post menopause. I've tried it all over the course of my adult life so I'm glad to hear that this method actually works.
Smitha, God bless you! I have suffered from hirsutism since a teenager on my neck and upper lip. I tried clinic treatment, but I just couldn't keep up with the cost. It was very painful also. I have to shave everyday. That is so emotionally painful. Since I trust you so much, I can't wait to try this product!
I’m a patient on cyclosporine since Jan 2023 and I noticed some small presence increase of facial and arms hair. I did IPL 15 years ago on my legs and butt and thanks god cyclosporine did not break that hair back. But yeah I think I might try an home treatment ❤
I got the Nood IPL device and used it pretty religiously, almost more often than they recommend. It worked for me for REAL, the best for me on my legs. There's like one or two errant hairs on a smooth canvas now that I just spot treat as I see them. I'm working on my armpits now, which I've had professional laser hair removal on but some bits are stubborn. I've also done pro laser removal with my facial hair, that worked really well, but I'm maintaining it with the Nood device. I am interested in "upgrading" to this Ulike device though because while the Nood worked for me, it does have drawbacks. The heat of the machine can get very high and I've almost burned myself before, so I'm really interested in the cooling feature with the Ulike. Also, the time between flashes on the Nood at the highest setting is kinda long, and they recommend you do three passes for each spot, so it's like at least 15-20 seconds per spot and with a small window of area being treated, you can imagine how long doing both full legs can take :/ So my questions for you are, does the cooling technology really keep the treatment comfortable? I have to take breaks with the Nood because of the heat. Also, does the Ulike recommend to use three passes for each spot? Thanks for your time and this great review.
It’s very cooling I highly recommend I haven’t been using it for too long but I’ve had it done professionally so I’m excited to see the results because this one is less painful and the cooling feature you don’t feel the heat

Hi~ IPL devices are painless but the skin can feel warm or like a mild sunburn afterwards if using a high level and/or on a more sensitive area. More often than not you should not feel anything from the device besides warmth or a small zap (feels like static electricity).
I have been dealing with facial since I was 16 years old and have been getting waxed ever since, as well as tweezing. I am sick and tired of the hair growing back so fast and the cost of the wax job, which I have been burned 4X now. I am extremely interested in this, but the expense is very high. I tried one of these by RoseSkinCo last year because it was one of the most recommended of these devices. Supposedly this kind of thing works best on people who have fair skin and dark hair, which is me, so I gave it a go. Supposedly after 12 sessions, I was supposed to have no hair growing at all at that point. Well, I did over 25 sessions (which is very tedious by the way if you’re doing large areas) on the strongest setting. The most I experienced was that my hair was growing back more slowly. So I could go maybe two weeks without shaving my legs, but the hair DID grow back. This year my hair is growing back at a normal pace because I can’t be bothered with spending an hour on zapping myself for minimal results.
Yikes i’m so sorry it didn’t work. I’ve tried three other devices before I put up a video on this because this is the only one that worked on me and as you can see in the video I have very thick hair.
I had the same experience. I started getting it done professionally and wow. One session I saw hairs falling out and a slow in growth. Professional is better.
I also tried a RoseSkinCo hair removal system and despite numerous sessions, the hairs ultimately ended up growing back at its original rate and thickness. 👎🏽👎🏽
How long do you use the device during each section? Do you use it for 15min (or more or less) or do you just make sure the whole area has been hit with light and then you’re done for the first session?

Will this device be helpful on African American/Black/Colored skin. My hair is black but my skin has more melanin than the skin in the video. How does this device help us?
Unfortunately, I don’t think this will work. It works because it is able to find the contrast in the hair follicle against the skin. So if you have dark hair and dark skin then it won’t be able to eliminate the the hair basically because it “can’t see” it. There’s a chart you can look at that shows what skin tone and hair color combination it works on!
this is probably a dumb question, in the first few weeks when you're using it 3 times a week which is basically every other day, do you shave every time? or like say you did Mon Wed Fri would you just shave before Mon?
Unfortunately it doesn't work as well on darker skin. The light targets dark follicles, but dark skin ends up getting targeted too, diminishing it's effectiveness
So if I’m beginning and having to do it 2 to 3 times a week do I have to shave every time before use or shave once a week but the treatment is a couple of times a week I’m lost
There is no way to actually get rid of stretch marks. Just learn to love them. Sometimes tanning diminishes the way they look, but don't fully get rid of them.
I bought the newest Ulike Air 10. They tell you to not use it on moles. The first IPL device I bought was Lumi by Roseskin Co and they also say to not use it on moles. With Lumi, they recommend to use a white pencil to cover your moles before treatment. That was the method I used and it worked perfectly. When I was lazy and didn't cover my moles for a few sessions, I noticed they started to lighten. Hope this helps :)
A cheaper option is Alexandria sugaring which stops hair growing back with regular 6 weekly treatments and it’s pain free and also gets ingrown hairs and very short ones too
@@ruthiea729Years ago I had sugaring done at a swanky salon . It was extremely painful . And expensive ! I’m not at all hairy and have about 4 thin light brown strands of hair on my calves . The beautician removed them and those strands of hair came back thicker and black. I removed them with strip wax and the regrowth was back to my original growth - light brown and sparse . My friend who is hairy , had a worse experience with sugaring . Her hair came back after about 10 days and was very thick and black regrowth . She was furious and upset ! Fun Fact : Sugaring originated from ancient Egypt . It’s rumoured that Cleopatra had it done! 🥰

I don’t have any hair on my arms or body and about four thin hair light brown hair on my calves and little bit on my underarms . ( So I use strip wax which I usually do myself for calves and under arms I have done by my beautician. ) However due to steroid tablets for my asthma in the past I have retained a bit of hair on the sides of my face and very fine hair on my upper lip. I have it threaded. I come up with red lumps . The lumps are particularly sore on the side of my face and cheeks . It feels like those areas of my face are on fire. This last about 1 week, (sometimes a bit longer) Two aestheticians I saw recently said I have very sensitive skin. Smitha , how is this equipment on sensitive skin? Do you come out in lumps? Does your skin feel sore afterwards ? Or is it okay? Also the aestheticians said you can’t have certain procedures if you are on certain medication or have certain health conditions How safe is this equipment if you are on certain medication or have certain health conditions ? ( The Doctor doesn’t know) ❤️💖✨💚✨
I’m glad you shared this so others can see my response. This is the only equipment with in build ice cooling technology. When you use it, you feel zero pain and because there is instant cooling sensation. It’s very soothing. They also have a 90 day free return policy if you don’t like it.
How is it with bikini area? Can you just...do the whole area, is it safe? 🫢 Will be saving for that for.winter if it is...I read it could be a problem on darker skin,.mine is a little darker than Smitha's and I wouldn't want to waste all that money and not have results.

Does this deliver in India?
Doe it hurt?
As a trans woman, home IPLs are of particular interest! 💜
It’s been 35 days since my 2nd session and my hair hasn’t grown back yet!
@@SmithaDepak Oh damn! Definitely saving up for one of these. I'm scared to death of electrolysis or lasering!
@@andie_pantsI got lasting and it was a bit painful. I did my face, stomach, and buttocks. It would feel like a rubber band snapping your skin and then they ice the area and it’s hot! I spent $1500 for all that, but that was 20 years ago lol. It was worth it. I still have some hair problems because I have hirstusim from having PCOS. I definitely would try this

Anyone have the SkinGenics IPL? That’s the one I have and it was half of how much the Ulike is.
Be careful, I bought a cheap one before and all it did was make my hair grow under my skin
I don’t have any hair on my arms or body and about four thin hair light brown hair on my calves and little bit on my underarms . ( So I use strip wax which I usually do myself for calves and under arms I have done by my beautician. )
However due to steroid tablets for my asthma in the past I have retained a bit of hair on the sides of my face and very fine hair on my upper lip. I have it threaded. I come up with red lumps . The lumps are particularly sore on the side of my face and cheeks . It feels like those areas of my face are on fire. This last about 1 week, (sometimes a bit longer)
Two aestheticians I saw recently said I have very sensitive skin. Smitha , how is this equipment on sensitive skin? Do you come out in lumps? Does your skin feel sore afterwards ? Or is it okay?
Also the aestheticians said you can’t have certain procedures if you are on certain medication or have certain health conditions
How safe is this equipment if you are on certain medication or have certain health conditions ? ( The Doctor doesn’t know)
❤️💖✨💚✨
I’m glad you shared this so others can see my response. This is the only equipment with in build ice cooling technology. When you use it, you feel zero pain and because there is instant cooling sensation. It’s very soothing. They also have a 90 day free return policy if you don’t like it.
@@SmithaDepak Thank you so much Smitha 😘. This equipment sounds really good . The return policy is very beneficial too !
I would be careful with IPL when being on steroids, please consult your physician first!
@@internationalsuperspy._.3610 Okay ! Thanks very much . I will do . ( I think I’ll stick to threading . It’s probably safer for me! )

Does this work on dark skin?
Depends on how dark your skin is but for most dark skin tones IPL is very dangerous as it can lead to skin cancer and burns
Can it reduces acne also???
Yes
Thank you Smitha😊🫶🫡
❤️❤️❤️
Anyone knows if it can be used on tattoos too?
Noooo can not use on tattoos
This is very dangerous, it will cause serious burns and the tattoo gets destroyed

Does it work on pcod hair??
How is it with bikini area? Can you just...do the whole area, is it safe? 🫢
Will be saving for that for.winter if it is...I read it could be a problem on darker skin,.mine is a little darker than Smitha's and I wouldn't want to waste all that money and not have results.
