    It’s a really good machine, I’ve been metal detecting for 17 years and have used many different MDs over the year ... I have 2 much more expensive detectors , but use a Go find 44 when scouting for new spots ,for fun relic hunting and coin shooting 😮

      I can't really fault it to be honest. It's a great machine

      I've also picked up an Equinox 800 which I'm going out to try next week.

    I just bought one today, I live in a very old area of USA and I hope to find cool stuff.

    I had one. Couldn't pinpoint anything. I thought it was me but nope. That square coil kills it. Loved the design of it, loved the folding mechanism.

      I've been able to find aircraft parts buried in soil at a crash site, coins on a beach and all sorts of other stuff. It's been good to start on, but I've now progressed to an Equinox 800.

    Great review for beginners. I have the NOX and so wish it was foldable so we can backpack it. I have dragged mine out bush, it’s like trying to carry a fishing rod 🤪

      It's very good at finding aircraft parts ut not so good at finding gold.

    Cool. I'd like to eventually get into metal detecting but sadly just don't have the time right now. But great review on this.

    Hello can you suggest me anything to detect gold as i can not spend more then $300. Thanx in advance love your work

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can get the minelab gofind 22 and gofind 44 for under $300. They are good units for starting out and learning metal detecting.

    Interesting video as I have a gofind 44 as my second detector. I see you are into plane crash sites, did you know about one in Tumut NSW, near the golf club? Apparently a plane crashed near there some years ago, there is also a WW2 crash site somewhere in the Argalong scrub. My father in law salvaged an old 2 way radio from there when he was younger but he cannot remember exactly where the site is.

      Thanks for the tip @yowie65. I'll have to do some research on those 2 crash sites as I haven't found a new site for a while. Love my gofind.

      @@AllThingsOutdoors yeah the thing I love about it is how compact it is, it’s easy to put in a backpack as you said. My other detector is a Minelab X Terra 705, that’s a great detector as well.

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I also have an Equinox 800 but I love the simplicity of the gofind 22

    Does the detector extend out far enough for a 6'2" adult?

    • @AllThingsOutdoors

      I would say yes. I'm 5.11 and it still had more to go

    What metal detector would you suggest to go up to, to detect gold better?

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm no expert and I haven't found any gold with a metal detector yet however I've been using the Minelab equinox 800 and found it easy and intuitive to use. It has picked up things that the go find 22 hasn't

  • @johnhomles2711

    2inch deep isn’t very good 😢 most metals. Are mutch deeper , but like the simple look and foldable idea , is there a better model to this which reads deeper

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is definitely entry level but a really good one to learn with. There are also the go find 44 and go find 66 which are a bit more sensitive and with some more features. I will definitely continue to use the 22 in certain situations.

    How deep can he detect in the ground ? 4 feet or 2 feet oi inch??

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say its more like 2 inches. It's very much a beginner detector.

    • @sinkhoandy3323
      @sinkhoandy3323 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion, if the iron is buried deep and big in the ground, he will see it. But if it is small and deep in the ground, he will not be able to detect it.
