    What a good video! I learned so much about New Orleans, and what your typical day looks like. I love the barber shop, and the cool architecture.

    I attended a summer camp in New Orleans at Loyola University a couples of years ago when I was in high school (I am from Italy). It was the first city I visited in the United States and your video made me going back to that days!

      Glad you enjoyed it, Mikail! I wanted to try something new to end 2020. And maybe I was also feeling a little jealous about all the attention people give to New York and LA... 😂

    • @yourfirstsecondlanguage4782
      @yourfirstsecondlanguage4782 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Connor Gleason fair enough! I went to ny, dc, Miami and Vegas the summer before last and I’ve been to LA as a kid but I’m as interested if not more in places with less of a tourist scene

    • @connorgioiafigliu
      @connorgioiafigliu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yourfirstsecondlanguage4782 Well New Orleans definitely has a tourism scene--there's like 1.5 million people that come for Mardi Gras alone. But it's mostly domestic tourists, and not many foreigners.

    • @yourfirstsecondlanguage4782
      @yourfirstsecondlanguage4782 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Connor Gleason domestic tourism doesn’t ‘count’ for me for purposes of somewhere being ‘too touristy’ ... I like to be a hypocritical holiday maker ie find the places without other foreign tourists and where applicable, places where English isn’t spoken as much by the locals, shopkeepers etc

    • @connorgioiafigliu
      @connorgioiafigliu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yourfirstsecondlanguage4782 I guess that's a good way of looking at things. Always best to follow the locals. Just a heads up--I think you might have a typo in your channel name. I know because I always do the same thing when writing "language"
      😂

    I got accepted into Tulane, but I’m having trouble figuring out how I’m going to pay for Tulane since it’s so expensive. Any tips on what I should do?

    • @connorgioiafigliu
      @connorgioiafigliu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tulane accepted me with a sizeable chunk of merit aid and I wouldn't have been able to attend without it. On top of that, I applied to lots of scholarships through Tulane and back in my hometown. One of them was the Paul Tulane Award, and even though I didn't end up getting it, Tulane increased my merit aid offering because they liked my essay.
      My roommate Alex Suh spent an insane amount of time researching scholarships and it really paid off for him. He's got a couple videos about it on his own TH-cam channel. But ultimately, if you can't find a way to make Tulane work financially, it's probably best to pick a cheaper school. I absolutely love Tulane, but there's no school in the world that's worth 25 years of student loan repayments.

      Hey Ruben, sorry I missed this! Facebook is usually the best place to look, specifically Tulane Classifieds (just watch out for scams/bad landlords) or the Facebook group for your class. Hopefully you were able to find a good place to live!
