Do any of you have experience being a Door Supervisor?🤔
No, but i would love to get one, but i'm more interested in cctv operator cos me my self got experience as IT techician more than 20years, can you give me more info about that, or I have to do first as a door supervisor?

Couple of tips the security firms don’t tell you. But may do if it’s the right person.
Don’t lie to your co workers about stuff you claim you’ve done, your name will get spread around quickly.
I’ve met a fair few of them who’s claimed they’ve done this, done that, made themselves out to be like Scarface, police, secret service.
You lie, you’ll get buried by the people who’ve gotten to know you.
Be there for your mates, male or female. Don’t ever turn your back if things get heated, you want to know they’re there for you as well as you are for them.
Be expected to be hated by some people, be expected to get filmed or photographed. But be polite, no your role, know your limits, be respectful, always wear a smile, be fair but firm.
Do not trust any punter, but be pleasant. Of your male....do not trust women on the doors, they want something out of you! They’ll even throw out the rape card, especially when they’re drunk.....then you’ll be investigated and have your license suspended.
If you’re female, be expected to have men hurl abuse at you and potentially even grab you. (Let’s not hope so though)
Apart from that, if you work the doors, just be polite and over time, reading people will become easy and you’ll know what someone gets like and who’s the trouble maker in the group.

Being a bouncer back in the day to recently passing my sia door supervisor level 2 its more relaxed now, yes theres drunken customers that want to fight the world but its more controlled 💪🏽😎👊🏼

@Clairelouisehottie it was great! I really enjoyed it. From what I know it will look slightly different now though as there is a first aid course attached to SIA licence so it's a 7 day course now and not just 4 like mine was.

I'd also love to get licenced lost my job now and money very tight get licenced should do a pay monthly option for people that can't afford the fee to get licenced right up.

Anybody who should be having a license is the company not the indvidual working for the company.
There were always checks made by the company on the invidual,license the company and it will stop illegal companies from operating.

can foreign students do a job in security filed ,does it effects their visa?
As long as you have the right to work in the UK you can work in security.

Each to there own but I personally don’t tell the customer they’ve had to much to drink as they are in the venue, I ask can I have a word outside the music is to loud ect then once they are out the venue let them know, obviously scan the room first to see who they are with so you can then go back in and get the group if he’s wanting them to move to the next bar or happens to have left the phone inside

I started the SIA door Supervisor course today and quit by the end of the day, it's the most boring course I have ever done, I almost fell asleep and I even lost my money! I thought I'd give it a try.

Lame excuse, you could have got your qualifications/badge and got a job anywhere. You’d never be out of work if you had an SIA badge..
You’re not going to get anywhere by leaving, I’ve worked with some amazing people since having my licence for almost two years now.
A course is not meant to be entertaining lol

What a dickhead comment. I’ve worked doors for 7 years and believe me the smaller guys are the best when shit kicks off. A lot are trained in martial arts and I worked with some small guys that could take down 5 blokes in one. Sorry but no one would want to work on your door if that’s your input. Arrogance.
