at the moment, this and forget not, are probably my favourite songs. i just cant seem to get enough of them, the complexity, the beauty... first saw them live at their comeback and have been a die hard fan ever since. almost mastered the acoustic interlude :D
@neobliviscarisvids As of now guys have my most anticipated album relase! Well, maybe after the new Opeth album comes out :) Cheers, and keep up the great work, you guys are amazing!
You can hear more stuff going on in the bit at 00:40 than in the album version. Vocals sound a bit different too. Definitely interesting to come back to
@weekendlobotomist The petition link is in their note 'Save Ne Obliviscaris! (An Open letter Re: Benjamin Baret's Australian Visa Rejection)'. It's about halfway down the page.
This is pretty cool! Nice to see an interesting local band! I wouldn't compare them to Opeth at all though. The violin solo at 7:30 ish actually reminds me of Kayo Dot heaps..
@slugnoid Ahahaha I just remembered. It's the chord progression from the score to "The Others". Not saying it was stolen, of course. But anybody who has heard the score will notice it, and it might've been a subconscious thing as there's a lot of violin in that score.
I love this band, but I've always noticed that the chord progression from 1:00-1:55 is exactly the same as part of a movie score I once heard, and I'm going crazy trying to figure out the movie. Anybody recognise it? It might've been "The Devil's Backbone", but probably not.
Where's the rest, at the end I mean? :( It would be really abstract to deliberatly end like that :P Anyway, first song I heard of Ne Obliviscaris and I really like it :D Cheers
Opeth that has a greater focus on Extreme Metal and Classic as opposed to Death and Jazz. With some definition they have something equally as ingenious, lets see what the album can bring to my city =)
Ah ok :P Say cheers to your brother from me then! I figure the song was just too long to fit on youtube then.. :( Oh well, it only makes me more interested :P
Meh, I'm not much of a fan of the screaming. But I definitely have a thing for bands that use unconventional song structures, time signatures, and instruments. Instrumentally, this band has got it together 100%, I wish them luck. Maybe they'll be like Opeth one day.
They're going to save extreme metal...with all this crunk shit out there, who knows what's gonna happen I've said this before but they're like Death in the Individual Thought Patterns era...LOTS of individual talent, but even BETTER collective talent!
hmmm..... drummer sounds like a machine.... off key a little at 2:20..... bass sounds out of place as well. that guitarist is pretty damn good. he needs to just find another band.
Every now and then you get this exception band in every kind of music.
Well there they are, Ne Obliviscaris, progressive black metal.
didnt realize this version is so different. still damn good
at the moment, this and forget not, are probably my favourite songs. i just cant seem to get enough of them, the complexity, the beauty... first saw them live at their comeback and have been a die hard fan ever since. almost mastered the acoustic interlude :D
I just recently found this band, and they're AWESOME. Great melodies!
wow, the music, the imagery, all connects into one making an amazing musical experiance. my ears are thanking you
Brilliant band! Can't wait for their studio album.
I feel so filthy!!! I had forgotten about this band for almost 2 years!!!
Absolutely. They're also one of my favorites.
I feel so filthy!!!! I had forgotten about this band for a long time!!!
You definitely introduced me to them. Thank god for that.
@neobliviscarisvids As of now guys have my most anticipated album relase! Well, maybe after the new Opeth album comes out :) Cheers, and keep up the great work, you guys are amazing!
Beautiful, just beautiful.
I'm in awe. This is some amazing stuff.
This song is awesome, no doubt about that, please sorry for my bad english, greetings from Mexico.
Forget Not is one of my favourite songs ever. Too bad it isn't uploaded.
You can hear more stuff going on in the bit at 00:40 than in the album version. Vocals sound a bit different too. Definitely interesting to come back to
this song is amazing.
their drummer is amazing!
From 8:32 I get this weird sensation, like crying and shivers that instantaneously puts me in a melancholy mood.
Best Australian band. Period.
Great music !!!
Wow.. just amazing..
¡Qué hermosura de canción!

Just discovered this band..Holy Shit such beautiful music
badass band. Great song.
This is pretty cool! Nice to see an interesting local band! I wouldn't compare them to Opeth at all though.
The violin solo at 7:30 ish actually reminds me of Kayo Dot heaps..
They've gone into pre-producition for the album which will include all 3 songs from The Aurora Vail..enjoy!
Oh my god this is absolutely magnificent! I'm so fucking happy I found this. Amazing music.
love it...
This song is AWESOME!!!!!!! Liek a mix between Opeth and SIgur Ros, with some heavier, more evil undertones! Definitely finding moar of this!!!
This is spectacular, I really hope it works out for the guitarist.
Beautiful
that is soo cool!!!!!
4:24 is simply breathtaking. wow.
Seems like making an effort to keep him in the country really paid off.
The new album is perfection!
@slugnoid Ahahaha I just remembered. It's the chord progression from the score to "The Others". Not saying it was stolen, of course. But anybody who has heard the score will notice it, and it might've been a subconscious thing as there's a lot of violin in that score.
This is like Unholy Matrimony meets Opeth. I love it!
yeah! sign that!
Did the drummer really play the double bass that long like that for this recording!?¿!
back here after maybe five years...
I love this band, but I've always noticed that the chord progression from 1:00-1:55 is exactly the same as part of a movie score I once heard, and I'm going crazy trying to figure out the movie. Anybody recognise it? It might've been "The Devil's Backbone", but probably not.
Between Belakor and these guys, Australia is kicking some ass
Oh my god this is amazing. Pure excellence. I think I just found one of my new favorite bands. I must see these guys live.
Where's the rest, at the end I mean? :(
It would be really abstract to deliberatly end like that :P
Anyway, first song I heard of Ne Obliviscaris and I really like it :D
Cheers
Pretty cool! Can someone tell me how exactly does he hit the bass drum so rapidly? I'm not too familiar with this genre of music.
that drum intro was tasty
Opeth that has a greater focus on Extreme Metal and Classic as opposed to Death and Jazz. With some definition they have something equally as ingenious, lets see what the album can bring to my city =)
@avvalon666 their guitarist is French. It would be terrible to lose this band just when they're finally getting started.
@metalhed0294 I'm not sure about it but I don't know for sure that you can't either. You can always give it a try.
I've said it before, but I can't be the ONLY one who hears the theme music from the movie "The Others" at 0:58.
great :D
so who is going to see these guys at sonic forge festival in melbourne at the espy ??? ... ill see you there \m/
so how many songs do these guys have. i looked it up and it says 3 but im seeing more on youtube :S
The first chord is "exactly sound for sound."
not a big fan of that kind of scream and black metal, but it's a kickass band! really awesome melody :)
hey, tell your brother he is awesome, and that his music reached my country (argentina)
stay fucking metal ImI
I totally agree..more gutterals perhaps? I think a mix of the two would be great. It's still a great song nevertheless.
Any news on the progress of the album???
@avvalon666 He's from France I believe, it would be terrible if the Aussie gov didn't let him get the visa he deserves to play for NeO.
@Erghest Wouldn't it be more like Oh-bleev-eess-car-eess? Latin after all
@NoGoodUserNamesSadly I love your username XD
Ah ok :P Say cheers to your brother from me then!
I figure the song was just too long to fit on youtube then.. :(
Oh well, it only makes me more interested :P
fuck yea!
usually listen to more punk like bad religion... but this is pretty amazing stuff
@Massivecarcrash they're close by, at least
@Ollievarium Nay uh-bliv-iss-care-iss
Hybrid Metal Owned
Lyrics anyone?
I think they should do more death vocals instead of black vocals but that's just me.
Meh, I'm not much of a fan of the screaming. But I definitely have a thing for bands that use unconventional song structures, time signatures, and instruments. Instrumentally, this band has got it together 100%, I wish them luck. Maybe they'll be like Opeth one day.
lol, this got minuses?
They're going to save extreme metal...with all this crunk shit out there, who knows what's gonna happen
I've said this before but they're like Death in the Individual Thought Patterns era...LOTS of individual talent, but even BETTER collective talent!
Nay Ob-liv-ih-scar-is
(i think you already know this)
TRY OPETH! and\or alamaailman vasarat (this 1 is not even metal...but still
and Psycroptic
I'll be completely honest: I use this album as my porn folder. Can you blame me?
The future can. I am fhe conscious that has you cringing yourself till you pass out every night before bed. All because of this six year old comment.
hmmm..... drummer sounds like a machine.... off key a little at 2:20..... bass sounds out of place as well. that guitarist is pretty damn good. he needs to just find another band.
Austria =/= Australia.
you fail at geography.
