If I were to check this out would you recommend I go for balancing or acne reduction for a formulation option because I know form using Paula's Choice that some with benzyl peroxide or BHA's like salacylic acid is among the most beneficial for getting and keeping my skin clear.

@@fafitah you definitely aren't. I am a mom of identical twins myself and think my boys look very different too but everyone tells me I'm wrong lol. I think those of us who know twins personally have adapted to see those minor differences more clearly? Or something? I feel like it's rare for twins to seem truly "identical" to me so that's my theory

As far as I know Curology, Dermatica and Skin&Me are all tretinoin focused. And at least with Dermatica, there aren’t as many actives to choose from and you’re not the one choosing, they are.
Love the idea of Function of Beauty, but I can’t justify spending so much money on a skincare routine right now. Hoping to try this later in the year, maybe I’ll ask for it as a birthday gift
I've been using their haircare for 18 months and I felt the same way as you at first, the skincare doesn't last as long as the haircare, but the shampoo & conditioner lasts me a full 5 months and if you break it down it's the same as you'd pay (more or less) as herbal essences per month and *so* much better for your hair! Plus, if you refer your friends they give you credit on your account so that helps.. I haven't paid for shampoo or conditioner for a year now lol. They have the same deal on their skincare too. (Although, I stopped using the skincare as the serum lasts a max. 2 months compared to the rest and that's the pricy one!)
I started using Function of Beauty from your last video you did about them. I love, love, love them. My skin feels and looks amazing. I think the price is in a good range.
I'm a massive fan of FoB haircare (I've been using it for over 18 months now), so I was very excited about the skincare range. My problem was that while the cleanser and the lotion lasted the 4 months, the serum did not. At all. And I've been using serums of similar consistency on my face for years (I'm 41) so I know it's not a question of using too much product. I found the serum lasted, at best, 2 months compared to (nearly) 4 months with the others. This is all that stopped me from making a full subscription from them. I get the cleanser, but the serum and the lotion are just a little too over priced, I think.
Crazy how we have similar skin types. On a side note, I'm glad you did this review because I've been wondering if I should give it a try personally for their conditioner and skin care due to having complex skin problems that pop up. It seems whatever I do to help my moody skin it's like "LOL no." This gives me slightly more confidence in considering the product. I just wish they gave free trials to see how well it works for a month before a purchase sometimes.

How and why you ask...well customisation does *NOT* necessarily equate to products that would necessarily lead to better skin. Also, they're not exactly adjusting the ingredients of the products to your skin type, they're giving you ready made products

I had gotten the micellar cleanser and gel moisturizer. The micellar cleanser was nice but the gel moisturizer is quite tacky for my skin at the moment.

I'm hoping to be able to get these as I have been looking for the right products as I have really dry skin and extremely sensitive skin that seems to hate almost everything that touches it, even fabrics and so on, and this sounds like it would actually work.
This would be the perfect thing if they would just use sustainable packaging 😭 i've always wanted to try their stuff but the virgin plastic bottles I just a deal breaker. Especially with so many brands that have recycling programs and use like 95% post consumer plastic. I really really really want them to make some moves in that department because they're so cool otherwise.

Hi James. Any tips for those who have to wear masks for 10 to 12 hours a day? The amount of breakouts myself and colleagues are experiencing with redness on nose, cheek and chin areas. Is there a barrier cream that can combat this?
here is what worked for my skin.. centella asiatica, calendula, green tea extracts. panthenol are good ingredients to look for, also pimple patches 👌 la roche posay's toleriane double repair cream was amazing. first aid beauty has some nice calming products. and lay off the actives to give your skin some time to calm itself hope it helps
