All the parts are interchangeable! We don't have the solo pieces on Amazon yet, but if you buy the Lynx on Flossy's Amazon link, you can get just the MonkeyTail (gooseneck part) solo on our website at octa.com, and use it interchangeably with the Clamp.

I like both of these for versatility, using tablets on music stands, as cameras, on the job. But I think the styling of your old one looks better on a desk and it's easier to pick up the tablet without having something clasping on to it. I'm rockin the Galaxy Pro 12.2 so a lot of these stands won't open far enough to grab on to it. That's the price you pay for being bigger than everybody else right? I got the Incipio Fixie and like it for what it is. But it's no action adventure type stand.

Spider Monkey is perfect for mounting in bed. Just make an umbrella-shape at the bottom of the MonkeyTail and tuck it between your mattress and bed frame. Or, put it under your leg or the small of your back. Or wrap it around a headboard. There are tutorials at octa.com/support under videos section.
