I have a female budgie that needs her beak trimmed again. The vet used a dremel tool, but the effects didn't last long enough. I have trimmed a birds beak in the past, but the beak and toenail areas do make me nervous. Thank you for this video

Hi thanks for commenting and for the question! Best thing to do is to grab him/her with a towel. This will avoid you from getting bit on the hand... It is vital you trim its beak as it can grow into the throat and end up killing your bird!

@@LucasFerrazvlogsanimals Thank you so much for responding with that helpful message. I left a message for a bird specialist that takes appointments in the home. I hope to hear back from her today or tomorrow at the latest. I have a really nice set up for the birds with 2 big cages- lots of toys & natural perches and swings and a room all to themselves to fly daily.(3 Budgies I got during Covid time).They get all kinds of fresh veggies and several kinds of great seed. "Rainbow" always took the BEST care of his beak and still sings and talks the best. I'll let you know how it all turns out. Thanks again!

When my budgie wants to trim its beak I put a wooden clothespin in there cage and they gnaw at it
Cool! Just be careful with the metal spring which could injure them…
